The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Upon seeing this medical record, Jiang An instantly became intrigued.

It was evident from this case that the patient had been admitted due to a fracture of the penis.

In his preliminary analysis, he believed that a simple penile injury wouldn’t lead to male function impairment; at most, it would cause slight dysfunction, with limited impact on sexual capability.

However, the victim showed numerous signs of vented aggression—this clearly indicated a problem: the more intense the abnormal expression of desire, the stronger the suspect’s inner longing.

He immediately picked up this case and scrutinized it carefully.

The name on the medical record was Li Hui, injured fifteen years ago.

He opened the file, and the first page contained the admission record, clearly documenting—

Six hours before being admitted, the patient had been bitten on the crotch by a wild dog while fishing in the countryside, staining his pants with blood, with the penis entirely fractured in the middle, and minor bruising on the scrotum.

After admission, he received surgical treatments like debridement and stitching, but due to the extensive fracture area, only a small amount of foreskin was intact, making it impossible to connect, so excision was carried out. The scrotum only suffered superficial damage, and both testicles were unaffected.

Just reading this surgical description made Jiang An instinctively sense there was something very wrong with this case.

When someone’s penis fractures from the base, and the testicles sustain no damage, it indicates there is no issue with testosterone levels.

But then comes the question!

With such an excess of testosterone, how is he meant to release it?

A man without that organ still has desire within him, so where does this energy go?

He then proceeded to examine the hospital discharge record; it indicated—upon discharge, most of the penis was missing, with localized scar formation, abnormal urethral opening, normal testosterone levels, and unaffected testicles.

Seeing this, Jiang An became further convinced of his conjecture.

At this moment, Chen Guan and Director Hou both approached.

They crowded in, asking almost simultaneously, ”Captain Jiang, is there a problem with this case?”

Jiang An looked around, paused briefly, and said, ”The record itself poses no problem, but this individual’s injury aligns well with our suspect profiling.”

”Most of the penis is fractured, no visible abnormalities in the testicles, and the testosterone levels are normal.”

”He was admitted at fifteen, meaning he should now be around thirty, precisely at the age with the strongest testosterone secretion.”

”This person should be a primary observation subject; what about the others?”

Qin Feng quickly turned to other cases.

Then Jiang An noticed the remaining cases, which also showed penile damage, but mostly involved bruises and minor localized injuries.

A few were ruptures due to sudden tire pressure release affecting both the penis and testicles simultaneously.

If the testicles were injured, a man would struggle to secrete testosterone normally, his body would gradually feminize, and such abnormal expression wouldn’t occur.

”After quickly browsing, Li Hui appears to be the most likely among the cases.”

Upon saying this, the surrounding officers turned to pass around Li Hui’s medical record.

”Whoa, dog bite? Sounds painful,” a young officer grimaced nearby.

”I suggest we focus our investigation on this person,” Jiang An proposed.

After listening, Mr. Chen nodded in agreement, saying, ”This seems reasonable.”

Immediately, Qin Feng recited the ID number on the medical record to the intelligence center staff, ”Help me check where this person is right now, what they’re doing, and if there are any traces in this city.”

Five minutes later, Qin Feng’s phone rang.

”Mr. Qin, according to our search, Li Hui is now thirty, living in West Mountain Village.”

”Alright, send me the detailed address in a moment.”

Just then, Vice Captain Zhang Jun’s phone rang suddenly.

He glanced at the caller ID, and it was Mr. Li from the security team: ”Hello, Mr. Li.”

”Captain Zhang, there’s an update regarding the situation you mentioned this morning; let me brief you.”

”Go ahead.”

”Our informant recently reported that a woman remembers distinctly—a strong smell of fish emanated from him.”

”Alright, thank you.”

After hanging up, Zhang Jun turned to Director Hou and Mr. Chen, relaying Mr. Li’s recent development—the person had a fishy smell.

Mr. Chen quickly nodded, saying, ”Captain Qin and Captain Zhang, take some sharp-eyed fellows with us to West Mountain Village.”

Qin Feng and Zhang Jun proceeded to assign young key members in the team, each armed with a 92-type pistol, with varying counts of thirty and twenty rounds.

Five minutes later, three black commercial vehicles departed from Guangling City Bureau.

For tasks involving arrests, the detective squad typically avoids using police cars, both to prevent premature exposure and to avoid alarming the suspects.

Fifty minutes later, two cars arrived at the village entrance of Houshan Village, one ahead of the other.

Houshan Village is built halfway up the mountain, with narrow and winding access roads; the gravel-paved surface is bumpy, causing inevitable scrapes for cars with low ground clearance.

Qin Feng, seated in the front passenger seat, spotted several people gathered under the old locust tree at the village entrance from afar.

As the car approached, it became clear—four or five elderly folks were huddled around a small square table playing cards, with enamel teacups and a crumpled half-pack of cigarettes beside them.
