The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Although Jiang An hasn’t been involved in crime scene investigation for long, his field experience is quite extensive.

After each scene investigation, he always carefully summarizes and organizes everything.

From the distribution of physical evidence to the sequence of actions, and then to the overall reconstruction of the crime scene.

In Jiangcheng, the reason he was able to become the captain of the criminal investigation team at such a young age mainly benefits from his habit of thinking and summarizing.

In his view, every crime scene is supported by an invisible thread connecting everything.

Whether this invisible thread can be discovered mainly depends on the ability and level of the scene investigation personnel.

Sometimes, when looking at a part in isolation, you might not understand it.

You always feel like one explanation isn’t right, and another explanation doesn’t seem right either.

It’s much like a very famous ancient Chinese saying, the blind men touching an elephant.

When you touch the nose, you think the elephant is like this.

When you touch the leg, you think the elephant is like that.

When you touch its rear, you think the elephant is another thing.

However, if you can view the entire picture as a whole, everything seems very reasonable.

These things are merely different aspects of one matter.

Returning to this case, Jiang An does not deny the existence of these three contradictions.

To be precise, these three contradictions are merely three aspects of one event.

No matter the choice of target, the different handling of bodies after the crime, or even the special harm to one of the female bodies, the essence is the same.

The murderer’s motive never changed.

Then, Jiang An looked around, and everyone in the entire venue was silent, listening quietly to his deliberations.

At this moment, Qin Feng sitting beside him couldn’t wait any longer.

He quickly said, ”Mr. Jiang, please tell us, what exactly is the reason? We’re itching to know.”

As soon as these words came out, the other officers at the venue also showed expressions of surprise and expectancy.

”That’s right, Mr. Jiang, we’re all eager to know, quickly tell us.”

Both Director Hou and Mr. Chen showed expectant expressions.

Then, Jiang An proceeded to analyze, ”Just now, I mentioned three contradictions.”

”These three contradictions are respectively the choice of target, the difference in handling after the crime, and the contradiction in the way of expressing desires.”

”Firstly, I think there’s no contradiction in the choice of target.”

As soon as he said this, the officers looked at each other in bewilderment.

”Didn’t you say there was a contradiction just now?”

”Why are you saying there’s no contradiction now?”

For a moment, the doubts in everyone’s hearts grew stronger.

Jiang An clicked his tongue and said solemnly, ”Perhaps everyone thinks I’m contradicting myself.”

”I say it’s not contradictory because the murderer’s motive was to vent his inner desires.”

”We see the two bodies inside the room, even though the way the murderer treated them looks different on the surface, the essence is the same.”

”The reason I say the essence is the same, did anyone notice the state of the button on the deceased lying on the sofa, Li Qian, whose clothing appears relatively intact, but there’s one point you mustn’t forget, which is the state of the buttons.”

”We found several buttons had come off the top of the deceased at the scene.”

Upon hearing this, everyone nodded.

Because they had an impression of this detail.

Then, Jiang An began to speak, ”Initially, we mostly believed that this was due to the struggle between the two parties, where the murderer pulled off the buttons, and this possibility certainly exists.”

”However, I think there’s another possibility where the murderer, in an extremely emotional state, could have violently ripped open the shirt to assault the woman.”

Upon hearing this, many seasoned officers couldn’t help but nod.

After all, for these two possibilities in front of them, there was no direct evidence to disprove either one.

Then, Jiang An continued to analyze, ”So the question arises, how do we discern between these two possibilities?”

”Next, I’ll talk about my own thoughts.”

”Actually, I’ve always had a question about why the deceased’s location of death was behind the door, while we found the final position of the body on the sofa?”

”Moreover, the posture in which the deceased is lying on the sofa is also a supine position.”

”Therefore, I believe this situation must have been intentional by the murderer.”

”Transporting a living person from the door to the sofa is relatively easier, but for a dead person, it’s not the same.”

”Those of us engaged in criminal investigation and scene investigation know once a person dies, they become like a heap of mud; like we have an idiom, ’drunk as mud.’”

”Because when a person loses breath and life, the body loses muscle tension, quickly leading to the muscles becoming limp and unable to move.”

”But why, under such difficult conditions, did the murderer go to great lengths to move the body to the sofa?”

”Let’s set aside the motive for now.”

”But one thing is very clear, during the murder, the murderer must have killed Li Qian first, then killed Jiang Shan.”

”So after murdering Li Qian, he likely needed a period of time to move the body, at least two or three minutes.”

”During this time, in such a tense situation, why could he move the body from behind the door to the sofa so calmly, what was his purpose?”
