The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

After hearing Jiang An’s conclusion, many were still in a state of confusion.

It’s important to know that while livor mortis is merely a skin presentation on a corpse in forensic medicine, it involves a lot of details.

For example, the color of livor mortis can vary from dark red, light red, cherry red, to dark brown.

Each color conveys different information. For instance, cherry red livor mortis often indicates death due to carbon monoxide or cyanide poisoning.

Dark brown livor mortis, on the other hand, generally suggests nitrite poisoning.

Of course, that’s just regarding the color of livor mortis. The distribution, the degree of fading with pressure, all carry their own importance.

However, the young forensic pathologist understood it clearly.

Analyzing the distribution of the livor mortis morphologically, there was only one possibility.

That is, the body had been curled up in a confined space for a long time to form this pattern.

After pondering for a moment, the young forensic pathologist spoke up: ”Mr. Jiang, if we analyze it this way, why did we only find a female corpse in the river, but not the suitcase?”

Jiang An nodded, looking towards the river, ”Based on the current situation, I think it’s very likely the killer deliberately threw the body out.”

”Huh? Could there be another use for the suitcase?”

Upon hearing this, Jiang An did not respond.

Yet, in his mind, the image of another corpse from the crime scene surfaced.

If the murderer was economical, then using that suitcase to transport a second body was not impossible!

As soon as the words were spoken, Qin Feng chimed in: ”I’ll immediately contact the salvage team to dredge the riverbed and see if they can find that suitcase.”

Hearing this, Mr. Chen also spoke up: ”The river in front of us isn’t flowing, so if there’s a suitcase, it shouldn’t have drifted far.”

”Hurry up and contact the salvage team for an overnight dredge, cost is not an issue.”

Without delay, Qin Feng got up at once to contact a professional salvage team.

At this moment, Jiang An glanced at the river: ”If the water isn’t flowing, then does that mean this is the body dumping spot?”

While speaking, he looked toward the side, where a concrete bridge was not far away.

Immediately, others followed his gaze.

The young forensic pathologist asked, ”Could he have dumped the body from that bridge?”

Jiang An replied, ”That’s entirely possible.”

”This place is remote with no surveillance.”

Immediately after, several people hastily walked over.

However, they found the concrete bridge piers to be very rough, with no trace evidence detectable.

The trace technician observed for a long time with an inspection lamp, ultimately shaking their head in resignation.

”Mr. Chen, even if we step on it, we won’t leave any traces.”

Jiang An glanced around and said, ”If it’s this secluded, doesn’t it suggest that the murderer should have some form of transportation?”

”The corpse appears to weigh over a hundred pounds; it’s unlikely the killer carried it here by hand.”

At this juncture, Director Hou also stepped forward, ”Moreover, it’s very likely the murderer had a vehicle to move the body out of the community, to cover it up.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Chen suddenly clapped his hands, ”That makes a lot of sense, I’ve encountered a similar case of murder and body disposal before.”

”The killer put the body in a suitcase and dumped it along the way.”

”I remember the body was dumped by the roadside, and that case took a long time to solve.”

Jiang An nodded after hearing this, ”Currently, we can entirely focus on a vehicle as a critical lead.”

”Moreover, we should investigate whether anyone saw someone carrying a suitcase entering or leaving the community during the time of the incident.”

Hearing this, Chen Guan was visibly excited.

”Mr. Jiang’s suggestion is excellent.”

”If a stranger enters the community, perhaps no one would pay attention.”

”However, if you’re carrying a suitcase, and that suitcase seems heavy, it might draw more attention.”

Thinking of this, Mr. Chen hurriedly said: ”I’ll contact someone immediately to re-evaluate the security personnel and nearby individuals in that community to see if anyone noticed someone carrying a suitcase out on the night of the incident.”

Subsequently, Mr. Chen immediately took out his phone and began to assign tasks.

Originally, he thought the discovery of another body would escalate the pressure to solve the case quickly.

Unexpectedly, the appearance of this body had provided a major breakthrough.

After Mr. Chen finished the call, Director Hou said, ”Mr. Chen, I think we should immediately conduct a forensic examination of the body.”

”Earlier, we preliminarily determined that there might be evidence of assault on the deceased.”

”However, whether there are male elements present in the deceased needs to be verified.”

In the end, Director Hou added, ”If we’re lucky enough to find any male elements, solving the case would be immediate.”

These words made Mr. Chen even more excited.

”If male elements can be found in the deceased and matched in the database, the case may be solved immediately.”

”We’ll conduct the forensic examination immediately.”

Director Hou said, ”Let’s hope so.”

”However, the probability isn’t too high. Nowadays, suspects are cunning and may have used protective measures during the crime.”

Contrary to their optimism, Jiang An didn’t think so.

He had noticed many unusual injuries on this female body earlier.

The more abnormal the behavior, the more it indicates the perpetrator wouldn’t commit the crime like a normal person.
