The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

After the meeting ended, everyone began to take action.

One team was led by Detective Qin Feng, specifically targeting all general hospitals and urology specialty hospitals in Guangling City to retrieve relevant case files about male surgeries, with a retrieval time frame of over 30 years.

Another group was led by Deputy Detective Zhang Jun, focusing on investigating related workers within the city’s red-light district to see if they have come into contact with similar individuals in their daily business.

Qin Feng divided his 20 subordinates into pairs, each pair tasked with retrieving medical records from different hospitals in the city.

After all, retrieving medical records is not a complicated task; as long as identification is provided, necessary departments can be accessed within legal boundaries.

At 10 a.m., he arrived at Guangling City’s People’s Hospital with Zhang from the detective team.

Guangling City’s People’s Hospital is a comprehensive hospital with a large area and complete business departments.

Particularly the urology department, which covers surgical, internal medicine, and functional medicine among other specialized departments.

Qin Feng presented his credentials at the medical records management office.

”Hello, madam, we are from the detective team, and we have a case that requires retrieving all individuals who have had surgeries in the urology department over the past 30 years.”

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged woman who was watching Douyin in the window turned her head and asked in surprise, ”30 years? That long?”

Qin Feng nodded after hearing her question: ”Exactly! It’s necessary for our case handling.”

As he spoke, he smiled awkwardly.

After all, in Qin Feng’s understanding, having surgery in the urology department is not particularly dignified.

The woman put down her phone and turned to ask, ”Do you have any age requirements for the patients you are retrieving?”

The moment this question was asked, Qin Feng was stumped.

This age requirement was not detailed by Mr. Jiang during the meeting; he only mentioned that the age should not exceed 40 years.

So, what is the appropriate age?

If the suspect had an injury at a young age, it’s entirely possible.

He then said, ”We are retrieving all cases within the urology department over the past 30 years.”

”Are you sure?”

”Sure.”

”However, there are quite a few cases. Some of the previous cases are not in electronic format, so retrieving them might require photocopying paper versions.”

”No problem.”

The woman looked up and said, ”All right then, I’ll retrieve them for you. It might take a while; I estimate there are several thousand cases.”

”Such a large volume?”

Upon hearing this, the young officer curiously asked.

The woman in the window replied, ”Of course!”

”Our hospital is a Grade-A hospital in Guangling City, and each year, quite a few children and adults come here for foreskin surgeries.”

”Moreover, every summer, a special department is opened for foreskin surgeries.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Feng quickly smiled and said, ”Oh, madam, my apologies, patients who have had foreskin surgeries... don’t require this technical record at all.”

However, if not clarified, let alone reviewing thousands of case files, even printing and transporting them to the meeting room could require a considerable effort.

He then directly said, ”Madam, we would like to retrieve cases involving penile fractures leading to hospitalization.”

This statement puzzled the woman across the counter.

Suddenly, a slight blush flashed across her somewhat wrinkled face.

”Why do you detectives suddenly need to retrieve this kind of case? Some of this information involves patient privacy.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Feng nodded and said, ”Madam, I know, but it is indeed necessary for our case investigation.”

Originally, the woman wanted to refuse, but after hesitating for a while, she still said, ”Okay, I’ll make a copy for you, but I must inform the department head first.”

”Additionally, after copying, you are strictly prohibited from publicizing outside; otherwise, it may affect the patient’s personal reputation.”

”I understand, thank you very much.”

Soon, the woman turned to walk into the archive room, saying as she walked, ”This way, the volume should not be extensive.”

As she walked into the inner archive room, Qin Feng immediately sent out a message in the work group—

”Everyone, take note! Each hospital should have surgical cases for foreskin surgeries, and such a case volume is enormous.”

”To reduce our workload, such case files do not need to be retrieved; just focus on cases related to penile fractures.”

This statement immediately prompted replies in the group one after another with ”Received”.

Meanwhile, the nearby officer also smiled and said, ”Mr. Qin, you see, if we hadn’t mentioned it earlier, transporting back thousands of these case files would require multiple trips. But it’s no longer an issue now as we can focus directly on the key points.”

At the same time, Deputy Detective Zhang Jun led a team to the security team.

In the security team’s office, he said, ”Deputy Chief Li, we have a case that may require your assistance.”

The security team manages special locations across the city, and their grassroots grid staff and informants are numerous.

Concerning this matter, Zhang Jun has considered it carefully.

Approaching individually, they might not receive accurate responses; moreover, going during the daytime to find these individuals is ineffective—red-light districts obviously operate at night.
