Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1299: Chapter 1299: You Can’t Just Abandon Me for Nothing

”Doctor Cheng, do you have time tomorrow? My dad gave me two movie tickets, and I want to go see the movie with you.”

Cheng Yue said with an expressionless face, ”I’m sorry, but as an intern, I don’t have that much free time to dispose of! I appreciate your kindness, but I’ve got things to do!”

The nurse looked disappointed but still somewhat unwilling to give up, ”I can talk to my dad, let him give you a day off!”

”No thanks! It’s not very good to pull strings when I’ve just arrived!” Cheng Yue responded.

”What’s wrong with that?” The little nurse, feeling anxious, ”Did you get what my dad meant? Did you understand what I meant?”

”I understand. I think you should also understand what I mean, right? I don’t want to hurt you!”

Frowning, the nurse looked at him with a wistful expression, ”Doctor Cheng, I’ve really liked you ever since I first saw you when you came to this hospital! Hasn’t my dad talked to you? Even if you don’t like me now, at least give me a chance, let’s get to know each other! What if you end up liking me?”

”That won’t happen. My heart already belongs to someone else...”

”Doctor Cheng, who is the person you like? Is she as pretty as Youyou?”

”Yeah! Youyou is the flower of our military hospital! So many people want to pursue her. It’s such a waste for you not to take advantage of this opportunity, being in such close quarters!”

”Right! If you marry her, you could become our hospital director’s son-in-law!”

The nurses from the emergency department all gathered around, surrounding Cheng Yue and chattering away.

Yan Huan arrived at the hallway just in time to see this scene. She crossed her arms over her chest and stood not far away, silently watching how things unfolded. Seeing that Cheng Yue’s face remained calm without any intention to avoid the nurses, a flame of indignation rose from the bottom of her heart.

No wonder he wanted to say goodbye. It seems he enjoys being surrounded by these adoring women.

Cheng Yue was surrounded by a group of nurses, their chatter making his head spin.

Youyou was a simple girl, quite kind, and took good care of him. He didn’t want to hurt her with harsh words, so he tried to express his feelings in a more tactful way.

But he found it wasn’t getting through.

So, he decided not to be polite anymore and rejected her directly, to stop her from harboring any further illusions.

Just as he was about to speak, he heard someone calling his name.

”Cheng Yue! Heartbreaker!”

He turned around and saw Yan Huan, dressed in casual clothes with a small bag, approaching with a cold face.

”Yan Huan! What are you doing here?” Cheng Yue was slightly surprised.

”Me?” Yan Huan glanced at the nurse next to Cheng Yue and curled her lips into a cold smile, ”I was wondering why you weren’t coming home and were so content away from home! Turns out you have all these beauties around here!”

”Yan Huan, what are you talking about?” Cheng Yue felt that Yan Huan was acting strangely today.

”What am I talking about? Don’t play dumb! Hand it over!”

”What?” Cheng Yue had no idea what Yan Huan was asking for.

”Of course, money! Can you please not act clueless? You don’t want to be with me anymore, right? But you have to support the child, don’t you? You’ve got to give me money for baby formula, right? It’s not like I can be with you for nothing, have your child, and then you just abandon me, right?” Yan Huan said without a blush, as if acting out a scene.

”What? You’re married? You already have a child?” Youyou looked at him, her face a mix of shock and disbelief.
