Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1294: Chapter 1294: Quiet Observation

Qiushu nodded and waved at the man.

Understanding what she meant, he turned around and left the Jade Store.

Not long after he had left, Gu Shuangshuang and An Hao arrived at the entrance of Baozhen Jade Store. An Hao looked around and silently praised the location. Being able to run such a big Jade Store, Qiushu was truly wealthy.

Once inside, Gu Shuangshuang saw Qiushu with her head down, seemingly engrossed in the accounts. At that moment, a salesperson approached them enthusiastically, ”What are you two looking to buy?”

”I’m looking for your boss,” Gu Shuangshuang said, pointing at Qiushu and called out with a smile, ”Sister Qiushu!”

Qiushu looked up and saw Gu Shuangshuang, giving a small smile. She closed the ledger she was working on and came out from behind the counter, ”Shuangshuang! You’re here.”

Gu Shuangshuang smiled and said, ”I’m here to bother Sister Qiushu! Remember I mentioned my mom’s birthday coming up? I’m here to pick out a jade pendant or something like that for her.”

”Sure, come here! We have many jade pieces, not all-encompassing, but definitely more than those in downtown. And the prices are very reasonable!” Qiushu now seemed fully in her merchant’s role.

Seeing her like this, An Hao felt somewhat relieved.

She wasn’t worried that Qiushu was a merchant out only for profit; she was worried about other ulterior motives.

”Great. Sister Qiushu, could you help me pick?” Gu Shuangshuang knew nothing about jade, but since Qiushu was knowledgeable, she trusted that Qiushu wouldn’t cheat her.

Not that there was much to cheat her out of anyway.

She was just a poor student whose cash probably wouldn’t even buy a single floor tile in Qiushu’s store.

”Jade finds its match. Whichever piece of jade you feel drawn to shows that you and the stone are meant to be. Although I won’t pick a stone for you, I can assure you, there are no fakes here. Whatever you choose, I will sell it to you at a very fair price,” Qiushu said with a smile.

An Hao, though she also didn’t know much about jade, felt Qiushu seemed quite professional from her observations.

”Alright. Since Sister Qiushu said so, I’ll pick one myself,” Gu Shuangshuang smiled at Qiushu and started to select from the counter on her own.

The jade here looked quite expensive. She probably couldn’t afford bracelets, so she settled on buying a pendant instead.

They say, ”Men wear Guanyin and women wear Buddha!”

She decided to buy a jade Buddha pendant to ensure her mother’s safety.

While Gu Shuangshuang was busy choosing, An Hao wandered around the counter then stopped at the section selling jade bracelets.

In the glass counter, there were various jade bracelets, each priced differently; An Hao noticed the most expensive one could cost tens of thousands.

Tens of thousands for a bracelet—that was astronomically expensive!

An Hao certainly wouldn’t spend so much on a bracelet.

While An Hao was examining the bracelets, another woman, plain and weary-looking, entered the store and immediately asked who the shopkeeper was.

Qiushu, who had been watching Gu Shuangshuang choose, looked up when she heard someone calling her, ”I am! How may I assist you?”
