Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1269: Chapter 1269: My Thoughts Have Been Somewhat Unhealthy Lately

Qin Jian slept for a full day, finally waking up in the evening.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw An Hao sitting by the bed, watching him.

”You’re finally awake.” Seeing his exhausted face, An Hao felt both distressed and puzzled, ”Was this week’s training so intensive? How did it tire you out like this?”

Qin Jian just smiled and didn’t answer her question. Instead, he reached out his hand to her, ”Come here, lie in my arms, let me hold you properly.”

It had been more than a week since he had had a proper conversation with his wife, let alone any intimate gestures.

An Hao took off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and obediently lay in his arms, gently stroking his chest as she spoke, ”You haven’t answered the question yet. What have you been up to this week? You’re exhausted.”

”The training was too intense,” Qin Jian said, ”Is it the annual military exercise that’s about to start? I’ve been busy leading their training.”

”Don’t lie to me. You don’t have to join the warriors crawling and wrestling now! Tell the truth, where did you really go?” An Hao looked up at him, her lips pursed, ”Did you take a fancy to some female soldier in the art troupe and sneak off to date her behind my back?”

Seeing An Hao’s sour expression, Qin Jian could not help but smile wryly, ”What on earth is on your mind all day? Why would I forsake my beautiful wife to meet with them? A hundred of them wouldn’t compare to you!”

”Really?” An Hao said contentedly, ”I love hearing that.”

”If you love hearing it, I’ll tell you every day,” Qin Jian said as he kissed her forehead gently, then let go, and she sat up, ”It’s getting late, I need to eat something and then go.”

”But it’s the weekend, do you still have training?” An Hao asked.

”Yes, it’s about to end,” said Qin Jian as he got dressed.

”Finish it quickly. I miss you. When will the days of not seeing you day and night end?”

”Very soon. Once I’m done with this period, I’ll cuddle with you every night,” Qin Jian said with a smile, ”and then I’ll make you happy enough!”

”I just said I missed you, not that I wanted you,” An Hao rolled her eyes at him. Why does he always bring it back to that topic!

Qin Jian smiled with the corner of his lips lifted, ”Comrade An Hao, your thoughts have been somewhat unhealthy lately! I only said I’d make you happy enough, I didn’t say I would please you like you imagined! Well! If you really want, I will definitely meet your needs!”

”You!! Have no shame! Get going!” An Hao’s cheeks flushed with his teasing.

Qin Jian looked at An Hao with satisfaction, then turned and went downstairs.

Zhang Yun had the meal prepared for him, and even set some aside in a thermal container.

”Eat quickly. This is for your father-in-law and An Ping,” she said.

Qin Jian sat at the dining table, picked up a bun, and started eating, ”Mom! You’ve been through a lot these days too!”

”It’s not hard, what’s there to be hard about? As long as An Hao doesn’t find out, it’s better than anything. If she knew that so much had happened at home, how could she rest and nurture her pregnancy peacefully? Then she’d definitely want to do these things.”

No sooner had Zhang Yun’s words fallen than An Hao unexpectedly came down from the stairs without making a sound.

”Mom, are you hiding something from me?” she asked.

”Uh... no! Nothing!” Zhang Yun quickly waved her hands, but it was already too late.

”Why have you all been acting strange this week? So there really is something you’re keeping from me.” If she hadn’t hidden on the stairs and eavesdropped, she would have never known anything had happened.
