Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1257: Chapter 1257: Accidental Encounter or Intentional Pre-meditation.

”That’s true,” An Hao totally agreed with the sales clerk’s opinion. At present, there were no surveillance cameras or sensors, and it was very easy for customers to tuck goods into their clothes or bags and walk away with them.

To use this business model, improvements needed to be made step by step.

Nevertheless, An Hao still admired the other party’s courage to adopt this way of doing business!

”How are the sales? Have they improved?” An Hao asked casually.

”Yes, they have indeed improved quite a bit,” the sales clerk said while proficiently packaging up the liquor. ”Actually, our place isn’t very big, so two staff members are enough. One to help customers select items, and the other to keep an eye on the comings and goings. Not much gets lost that way. The most important point is that the people who come here to shop are wealthy families like yours, and most of them are very well-mannered, so things rarely get stolen. Even though theft isn’t a big issue, we still need to do our best to keep watch.”

From what the sales clerk said, An Hao deduced that the business person must be very astute and worldly. Her market positioning was fairly accurate, which was why she had adopted this business model.

Once the liquor was packed, An Hao and Qin Jian left the mall and discussed buying some fruit next.

They stopped at a fruit stall, and as An Hao was about to bend down to pick fruit, Qin Jian wouldn’t let her do so, fearing she might squeeze her belly. He told her to stand aside nicely and wait while he selected the fruit himself.

As An Hao looked around, her gaze inadvertently swept over a nearby flower shop where she saw a woman in a beige trench coat selecting flowers. Every movement she made exuded calmness and elegance.

It seemed that this was a woman who greatly enjoyed the pleasures of life.

An Hao silently thought to herself whether it was because she knew this woman that she kept appearing in her life, or if it was like with Cheng Yu, just another encounter she could create?

While An Hao’s thoughts were wandering, Qin Jian had already finished buying the fruit and paid for it, calling out to her, ”Let’s go!”

An Hao came back to her senses and nodded, ”Yeah.”

..........................

Zhang Jianguo’s home was very lively early in the morning; subordinates from the group knew he was going to the headquarters this time and had come to congratulate him one after another.

Most of them brought gifts, but he refused each one.

So, everyone got to drink a cup of hot tea and verbally expressed their well wishes.

By the time it was getting close to noon, most people had left as Zhang Jianguo did not show any intention of asking everyone to stay for lunch. After all, it was vital to keep a low profile at such a critical juncture to avoid negative repercussions.

The others clearly understood Zhang Jianguo’s intentions, so at lunchtime, they all left.

Once the house quieted down, Zhang Jianguo looked at his watch and said to Zhang Lanxiang, ”You prepare the meal; the person I arranged to meet should be arriving soon.”

”The dishes are ready, all prepared. When people arrive, we just need to heat it up,” Zhang Lanxiang said as she stood up.

”Show off your culinary skills properly. And don’t forget, you must make the braised fish.” Zhang Jianguo said, he had been unable to forget the braised fish made by An Hao ever since he tasted it.
