Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1291: Chapter 1291: I’ll Play the Good Cop from Now On

”Why bother with what they think? As long as you, Shuangshuang, think I’m good, that’s all that matters!” Tian Niu said with a smile.

Although he said this, Gu Shuangshuang still felt uncomfortable hearing others criticize the man she liked.

”Come on, don’t be angry. If I were as handsome as the commander, you would have even more reason to be upset,” Tian Niu said with a hint.

”Hmph! You’re talking about that nurse, Dan Dan, aren’t you?” Gu Shuangshuang clearly remembered the nurse who had bothered Tian Niu.

An Hao watched the two of them bicker and couldn’t help but laugh, ”Actually, Tian, you should admit you’re quite a charmer yourself! Otherwise, your arm would have been turned into a sieve by Gu Shuangshuang.”

”I think so too.” It was well known that Gu Shuangshuang was much more jealous than An Hao.

The tent was set up, and there was still time left.

Qin Jian saw many people with bamboo poles fishing by the lake, so he and Tian Niu also went fishing.

Seeing others using a fishing rod, they temporarily borrowed one.

In no time, they had caught several fish; they returned the rods to their owners, kept two for themselves, and gave the rest to those who had lent them the poles.

Lunch was going to be much richer.

Qin Jian started a fire by the stream, and Tian Niu skillfully prepared the fish.

All the spices for grilling the fish were borrowed, and under An Hao’s direction, they simply marinated the fish, skewered them on sticks, and started to grill.

The fish cooked quickly, and soon a delicious aroma wafted over.

An Hao and Gu Shuangshuang, drooling, squatted by the fire, their eyes fixed unblinkingly on the two fish.

Once the fish was ready, Qin Jian divided it up, then tore it into pieces and fed them to An Hao.

They also bought plenty of luncheon meat, bread, and fruit, enough for a satisfying midday meal.

In the afternoon, Qin Jian took a walk with An Hao in the woods, listening to the birds and smelling the flowers. Meanwhile, Tian Niu played in the water with Gu Shuangshuang, barefoot.

The day passed just like that.

By evening, after dinner, An Hao was a bit tired and went back to the tent early.

Qin Jian sat beside her, peeled a small slice of apple, and gently fed it to her.

An Hao, with a content smile on her lips, gazed through the leaves overhead at the starry sky.

”How was it? Did you have a good time today?” Qin Jian asked.

”Yes.” An Hao nodded and gently stroked her belly, smiling, ”They’re also very happy.”

”How do you know?” Qin Jian looked at her tenderly.

An Hao took his hand and placed it gently on her stomach, ”Feel this! These two little ones are kicking up a storm!”

Qin Jian distinctly felt a movement from An Hao’s belly, and his smile deepened, ”Almost five months now!”

”Soon! In another five months, you’ll truly be a father!” An Hao said sweetly. ”Do you want to be a kind father or a strict father?”

Qin Jian’s lips curved slightly, ”I’ll let you play the good cop. I’ll be the bad cop!”

”I won’t give you the chance to play the bad cop!” An Hao declared confidently, ”My kids will definitely be the most well-behaved and obedient!”

”Girls can be, but boys shouldn’t be too well-behaved!” Qin Jian said.

”Why?”

”It’s good for boys to be a bit naughty! I’m not worried about them being naughty!” If they really don’t listen, I might as well spank them.
