Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1275: Chapter 1279: Her Background

Along with the splash of the water, huge water sprays scattered around.

Immediately after, Gu Shuangshuang began to struggle desperately, shouting as she did, ”Help! Help!”

”My ancestors! It’s exactly what I feared most! Shuangshuang, stop shouting, close your mouth! Don’t choke on the water!” An Hao advised Gu Shuangshuang, looking around in all directions to see if there was anything like a stick that could be used to pull Gu Shuangshuang up, whilst also shouting loudly, ”Help! Help! Someone has fallen into the water!”

Gu Shuangshuang couldn’t swim, and An Hao was also a landlubber.

Previously she could move agilely in a few steps, but now with two in her belly, she couldn’t move fast even if she wanted to.

She worried about having an accident if she ran too quickly and also worried that Gu Shuangshuang couldn’t last long in the water.

An Hao was truly caught in a dilemma!

Both sides were matters of life, who could she save, and who could she not save?

Gu Shuangshuang exhausted all her strength in the water, struggling mightily, her energy almost depleted, she gritted her teeth and kept moving her arms and legs in the water. Once she stopped, she would only drown.

”Quick! Quick...”

An Hao was frantic, finally spotting a stick. She held her belly and hurried a few steps to pick it up, ”Shuangshuang! I’ve found a stick, hold on a bit longer, I’m going to pull you up!”

Having said that, she leaned on the stick and climbed towards the rocky edge of the pond, muttering to her babies, ”Babies, you’ve got to make me proud! Don’t cause any trouble! Let me save your godmother.”

”Quick... I... can’t... dying...” Gu Shuangshuang had swallowed a lot of water, her strength also drained, her body gradually beginning to sink.

Just at this critical moment, An Hao only heard a rush of footsteps behind her. Just as she was about to look back, she felt a gust of wind by her ear, and a light blue figure passed in front of her, like a fluttering butterfly, and plunged into the water with a splash.

In a moment, Gu Shuangshuang had been pulled out of the water.

The two lay on the ground; Gu Shuangshuang coughed violently, her stomach churning and ejecting quite a bit of the swallowed water.

”I’m finally saved.” Gu Shuangshuang, clutching her racing heart, thanked her rescuer profusely, ”Thank you! Thank you! I really appreciate it!”

”No need to thank me. It was nothing!” The person responded, head down, wringing the water from her clothes, speaking indifferently.

At this moment, An Hao recognized the woman who had jumped into the water to save another. It was her! Lin Qiushu!

What a coincidence! It was just too coincidental!

She didn’t know if the world was too small or what, to have so many fortuitous encounters!

An Hao still remembered what Cheng Yu had once said, ”Too many coincidences aren’t coincidences at all. They’re inevitabilities!”

And Lin Qiushu also recognized An Hao, her lips just beginning to curve into a smile, but then she saw An Hao’s gradually fading and cooling expression!

She didn’t like her!

Therefore, Lin Qiushu didn’t speak, merely quietly wringing the water from her clothes, telling Gu Shuangshuang, ”Stay away from this place! It’s too dangerous! I saved you this time, but next time you might not be so lucky.”

”Okay! Okay! I know. Thank you! What should I call you?” Gu Shuangshuang thanked her repeatedly.

”Lin Qiushu!”

”Sister Qiushu! I’m very grateful to you! If it weren’t for you, I might have been done for! To show my appreciation, may I treat you to dinner tonight? A simple meal, of course, can’t compare to saving a life.”

After Gu Shuangshuang spoke, An Hao cleared her throat softly twice.
