I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 397 - 397 387 Brown Bear Form397: Chapter 387: Brown Bear Form 397: Chapter 387: Brown Bear Form Each time, Big Brown Bear only half-killed the few wolves that approached it, but he never pursued victory to eliminate future troubles completely.

Mu Ying asked why he didn’t just kill them off, noting that with his strength, if he exerted a bit more force during his attack, without Healing, those wolves would definitely not survive in the end.

Instead of, like now, being provoked by them every so often.

The result was Big Brown Bear gave her a look, “The few wolves and I all grew up in the same zoo.

Every day, simply by calling out when people passed by or by performing some movement—even lying still would do—we could obtain enough food to satiate our hunger.

Although it wasn’t particularly tasty, I never went hungry.

Those wolves were locked up together and had the chance to fight and snatch food from each other, while I was always kept in solitary confinement, with no idea how to fight.”

Later, the cage that held me suddenly disappeared, and I felt as if my mind suddenly became much clearer.

Without humans giving me food anymore, driven by hunger, I went to look for something to eat.

At first, I looked for anthills or insects to eat around me, but that was hardly enough to fill my stomach.

Then I remembered, on the day I was first brought to this zoo, passing by where the monkeys were kept and seeing a few peach trees.

That’s when I wanted to go steal some peaches.

As it turned out, the monkeys’ cages were also gone, and I hadn’t even fought with those monkeys.

Despite my great strength, I was far less agile than the monkeys, and my clumsily swung paws could not hit a single one.

Instead, I ended up with scratches all over my body.

Afterwards, having no choice, I left the zoo.

Along the way, I encountered many conflicts with wild beasts, losing more than winning.

But with my naturally large body and strong constitution, I fortunately didn’t suffer any particularly serious injuries.

Having fought many battles, I slowly began to figure out some tactics.

Eventually, I found this orchard, but it was already occupied by those wolves.

The first time we fought, I suffered some serious injuries for the first time, but I also hit those wolves hard.

This time, I didn’t back down.

The wolves don’t even eat these fruits.

As long as I occupied this place, I wouldn’t have to worry about food anymore.

So, after Healing my wounds, I came back to fight a second time, then a third time.

Sometimes I would get injured, but with each battle, I gained more of an upper hand.

The last time I even left them unable to get up.

At that time, I had the chance to kill them, but I knew that to keep this place, I needed to be stronger.

Although there was nothing nearby that could threaten me for the time being, if I regarded this place as a cage and locked myself in, satisfied with just having food, then one day in the future, I might be forced to leave.

That’s why I let them go.

Then, letting them come time and again to provoke me also allowed me to hone my skills time and again.

Now, they probably want more than just to take back this place.

Although I’m smarter and learn faster, through our repeated battles, they too have been gradually growing stronger.

They are now much stronger than when they first fought with me.

We have already reached an understanding.”

Impressed by Big Brown Bear’s rare intelligence, Mu Ying considered recruiting him.

Such a smart animal was hard to come by, “I can build a Sub-camp here and protect this place with a protective shield, so you don’t have to worry about anything else taking this place in the future.

However, as a price, you need to hand over fifty percent of the orchard’s output.

What do you say?

Later on, you can also use the teleportation function to go to the Main Territory to sell fruits for money and buy as much honey bread as you want.”

Although handing over fifty percent of the output might seem like a lot, relative to Mu Ying’s usual pricing, it was already a very favorable condition.

Half-Breeds, in order to have a Sub-camp that could protect their home, still owe her a large number of Contribution Points to this day.

But this bear, if he agreed, would be directly integrated into the territory’s system, becoming the manager of a Sub-camp.

If it was just about the interest in this orchard, Mu Ying wouldn’t even have to ask the Big Brown Bear’s opinion; she could directly establish her Sub-camp and claim the territory.

But Mu Ying only needed the seeds for these fruits, and she could grow them within a year.

Now that she already had her planting camp, there was no need to build another Sub-camp here.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone so long without giving this place any thought.

The reason she made this proposal now was that, more than the orchard, Mu Ying valued the Big Brown Bear.

Perhaps Mu Ying was just more prone to take a liking to these humanized animals, hoping it could live a better life.

Directly taking it back to her territory, it also couldn’t bear to part with this orchard it relied on for survival.

Establishing a Sub-camp was really a very superior condition.

Unexpectedly, the Big Brown Bear shook its head: “Roar!

(I don’t want that, I don’t want to go back to a cage, it’s dangerous outside, and I might encounter something too strong for me and die at any moment, like those black birds that have been around lately, but I still prefer freedom.

Danger is what keeps me alert and makes me stronger.)”

Mu Ying could quite understand its mindset.

She liked this bear with ambition even more: “You’re overthinking it.

I’m not planning to keep you.

Haven’t you met the Sky Wolf?

They also live in my territory, but if they want to fill their stomachs, they still have to work for it.

Whether it’s going out to hunt or working for me, they have to trade labor for rewards.

Even that doesn’t suit you?”

The Big Brown Bear still firmly stuck to its decision.

“Alright then, if you encounter a fatal danger in the future or decide to leave here, you can seek my Main Territory in the forest to the south.

It won’t disappoint you.

My bear transformation is now complete, thank you.”

No sooner had she finished speaking than Mu Ying’s body began to change.

In the blink of an eye, she became a Brown Bear with soft fur and a hint of dark green in her eyes.

She was nearly the same size as the Big Brown Bear.

Brown Bear Mu Ying lifted her paw and smacked it down on the ground, feeling her own powerful strength.

The Big Brown Bear beside her widened its eyes in surprise, “Roar!

(Who are you?)”

“Roar!

(It’s Mu Ying!)” Mu Ying shook her paw at it.

Now, she didn’t need animal conversation to communicate without barriers, as the bear form naturally came with the ability to speak bear language.

She was quite satisfied with her new form.

This sense of strength was completely different from her human form; no need for any fancy tricks, a fierce swipe of her paw could solve any issues.

Moreover, the body of a Brown Bear was surprisingly agile.

Perhaps influenced by what she had observed, she felt she was not like an ordinary Brown Bear anymore.

“Roar?

(You, you, you...

are a female bear?)” The Big Brown Bear fidgeted uncomfortably, clutching its paw.

It had been a long time since it had seen a female of its kind, let alone one with such shiny fur and a strong body!

Mu Ying glanced at it, sensing it was acting a bit awkward, “I’m essentially human, aside from being able to change into a Brown Bear!”

The Big Brown Bear sighed in dismay; its bear life was just one wife short of being complete.
