I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 357 - 357 353 Strange Taste357: Chapter 353: Strange Taste 357: Chapter 353: Strange Taste “Haha,” Mu Ying’s tentacles suddenly contracted, “Don’t pull there, it’s really ticklish, haha!”

Lily seemed to have found a new playground, starting to poke and poke and poke.

With eight tentacles, Mu Ying couldn’t dodge them all, discovering for the first time that octopus tentacles had such a weakness.

Enduring the ticklishness, she rushed over and wrapped Lily up like a rice dumpling, finally finding relief.

“Okay, okay, Yingying, I won’t pull on your little flowers anymore,” Lily promised.

Only then did Mu Ying let her down, taking out three bottles of Fish Tail Potion, “Want to try it?

It’s freshly brewed today, and with just a few bottles, what kind of tail it turns into is still uncertain.”

By now, Lily had found the magic potion amusing, took a bottle, and sipped a little, her little face crumpling up, “Salty and a bit bitter, not nice!”

“The taste isn’t great, pinch your nose and gulp it down to quickly end the suffering,” Mu Ying said.

Though brewing a magic potion was somewhat like making soup, most oral magic potions tasted awful—after all, they were a messy mix of plants, and magic power did not flavor them, making them quite the culinary dark art.

“I have a better method though!” Lily drew in some seawater, wrapped the potion with it, forming a thin line of water, and into her mouth it went.

Mu Ying shook her head; not surprisingly for someone from a water-loving race, Windsor and Senior Reni drank magic potions the same way.

As a green witch who frequently tested potions personally, she had grown accustomed to the strangely-flavored potions and didn’t need that.

Perhaps deeply tormented by the magic potions, most green witches took an interest in Cooking Magic, and learned it well—perhaps because torturing their own tongues for so long required some delicacies to reward themselves, otherwise their taste might get confused.

After drinking the magic potion, Lily sat on a rock, curiously watching her legs shrouded in a hazy glow, “Yingying, it seems like it’s getting a bit bigger.”

“Don’t you feel the sensation getting more complex?” Mu Ying asked.

Lily shook her head.

“Then it’s probably not an octopus tail,” Mu Ying said, “It’s coming soon!”

“This...”

As the mist faded, Lily was stunned.

“That should be a shark tail, miniaturized a bit,” Mu Ying said.

Since her upper body was so small, it couldn’t connect to a real large shark tail; likely it was proportionally downsized to fit her own body size.

Like her own octopus tail, which had actually been slightly enlarged.

Anyway, once you drank the Fish Tail Potion, whatever tail it turned into, it would fit the body like your own limbs, and you’d be able to control it effortlessly.

Lily, like she was holding a fascinating new toy, had her tail lifted high, touching it again and again, “A blue shark tail, wow, it’s so beautiful!

Much more beautiful than those sharks in the village.”

“Well, usually, no matter what tail you get randomly, the color always matches your personal characteristics.

If you had gotten an octopus tail, it might have been blue too.

If I got a mermaid tail, it would be green,” Mu Ying explained.

“Really?

I want to try them all!” Lily’s playful side welled up, but she also knew that making magic potions was not easy, “How long does the effect last?

Once it’s over, I’ll drink another bottle!

How much does it cost?

Can I come back and buy more from you?”

“It lasts 24 hours,” Mu Ying said, “Selling it, maybe 50 silver coins a bottle.

After growing some more fish tail grass and gill pouch grass, I’ll stock both Fish Tail Potion and Breathing Potion at the Territory Specialty Store, and you can buy them there, but they’re limited in quantity!”

The biggest problem with magic potions was that they couldn’t be mass-produced, relying solely on manual brewing by herself.

Even with an octopus tail, the brewed potions could be made several at a time, but it was still too slow.

So the Magic Potions on offer were quite limited in quantity, not only limited-time and limited-purchase but also required Territory Contribution to buy, and were generally priced rather high.

Mermaids were the biggest customers of her specialty store’s high-priced goods, with the hair dyeing magic potions having the largest buyer group being the mermaids.

After watching the evening tide, Mu Ying and Lily parted ways and returned to the Plantation.

Before going to sleep, she remembered that Edwin had mentioned wanting to talk about the trading session on the forum, so she opened the player forum.

Edwin’s arrival in Qingshan Town had been fermenting on the forum for several days now, and his previous post about heading to Qingshan Town had been pushed to the number one spot in popular posts.

Edwin was also an active forum user, often replying to others in his own posts.

The thread was started by him, and he had the authority to delete any replies under it.

Although it was an anonymous post, the credibility of his personal statements regarding himself was still quite high for others.

After all, there are very few people who would bother to start lying about half a year ago, continue it up to now, and especially about the Trialists, he indeed had prophesized it beforehand.

The trading session was also posted by Edwin in this thread.

Now, his main post in this thread was divided into three parts.

One was from half a year ago, about him becoming a Trialist and his statements on going to Qingshan Town.

Another was from the day he arrived in Qingshan Town, supplementing it daily with observations and feelings about Qingshan.

The last part was the content related to the trading session that he had just added today.

Mu Ying had been busy making Breathing Potions these past two days and hadn’t looked closely, so she started from his observations about Qingshan.

The moment she saw it, she wished she could drag Edwin out and beat him up.

“On this dark and windy night, riding atop a big fish, I finally saw the undulating hills along the coastline and made it ashore.

Even more fortuitously, I encountered Lord Mu Ying and the little mermaid Lily sitting by the sea.

I dismounted from the big fish and gracefully offered them a gentlemanly bow, revealing my identity.

Mu Ying ruthlessly rejected my talent introduction request, but still took me to the territory to get an Identity Card.

We just had a drink at the tavern, and although she’s a bit stingy, I must say she is a wise and powerful Lord, it’s just too bad about my benefits.

Here, I’d like to warn all my good-looking peers, please make sure to disguise yourself ugly at night when going out in Qingshan Town.

There’s a Vampire here with a collection compulsion for handsome men and beautiful women.

Anyone too good-looking will definitely be targeted!

Like me!

– my first day coming to Qingshan Town.”

If she had known he called her stingy, she would have given him a piece of her mind at lunch today!

Freeloader!

Mu Ying specifically scrolled down to check the comments from that day.

“I’ve been squatting here so long and finally got the follow-up!

You rode a big fish across the sea?

What fish?

It wasn’t a Magic Beast, was it?”

“Haha, first of all, welcome to Qingshan Town, but the Lord rejecting your talent request might not be because you’re too weak, after all, the Lord really treats her employees well, those staff New Year bonuses last year really made people jealous.”

“Can’t say I noticed the Lord being stingy, but it’s a fact that the original poster is quite self-loving!”

...

Indeed, the eyes of the masses are sharp!
