I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 381 - 381 373 The Clouds Disperse381: Chapter 373 The Clouds Disperse 381: Chapter 373 The Clouds Disperse A few hours ago, Sharon took the crystal wine jug out of the Bone Castle and walked to the edge of the Blood Pool, intending to fill it with some fresh blood to drink back in the castle.

She had just filled it halfway when a Blood Crow suddenly dropped into the Blood Pool with a splash, nearly splattering her face with blood.

She grabbed the suddenly dead Blood Crow from the Blood Pool, and one after another, the Blood Crows circling in the sky began to plummet.

Sharon was momentarily stunned and at a loss.

To avoid being hit by the falling Blood Crows, she retreated under the porch of the Bone Castle.

Although the Blood Crows were her most capable servants, the stench of the corpses’ decay on them was something Sharon was unwilling to be contaminated with, as in her bones, she still believed herself to be of noble lineage, clinging to the lifestyle habits of human nobles, and, despite feeding on blood, was reluctant to be dirtied.

But at the moment, Sharon could not concern herself with these matters.

The bloody carcass of the crow in her hand, which felt soft and boneless, made her realize the fall of the crow was no coincidence, and that this was only the beginning.

Yet she could not find the reason for such a thing happening to the Blood Crows.

Her control power over the Blood Crows was still intact, with no problems whatsoever.

It was as if in an instant, her servants had been stripped of all their bones.

Even for Undead Creatures, without bones, the Soul Fire could not drive the body to move.

And the moment the bones were extracted, her servants did not perish.

The Soul Fire of the Blood Crows remained unscathed; only those that had been flying at that time, when they fell, their Soul Fire was also shattered.

So the issue lay within the physical bodies of the Blood Crows.

But the speed of the crows’ bones disappearing was too fast, and Sharon had no time to do anything about it, nor did she know how to save everything.

The most critical thing was that with a large number of Blood Crows dying, no new Blood Crows were resurrected from the Corpse Bone Meat Forest.

For the first time, a sense of panic rose in Sharon’s heart.

Compared to those beautiful collectibles, these Blood Crows, which she felt dirty even touching, were her true backbone.

Even those more powerful than her, those with Strength just a notch above hers, could not fare well against the infinite Blood Crows.

The most important component of the entire nest was also the Blood Crows.

The relocation of the nest relied on countless Blood Crows to carry it.

The blood collected by the Blood Crow flock, after being filtered and extracted layer by layer by the rose flower sea, left only the most essential part to be gathered in the Blood Pool, serving as nourishment for her Blood Food.

This was also key to maintaining her vitality.

During the day, the flock of Blood Crows shielded the entire sky above the nest with their bodies.

The dark aura within the nest was thus able to persist and accumulate, and then at night, draw Strength, becoming increasingly formidable, nurturing the entire nest’s corpses and Undead Creatures, making it a place suitable for the Vampire’s activities day and night.

Now, with a large number of Blood Crows losing the ability to move, even if some Soul Fires had not yet dissipated, their bodies were useless.

The sudden break of the most crucial link that maintained the entire nest was a huge blow to the nest and to Sharon alike.

The most immediate concern was that the Blood Crows that blocked the sky and sunlight during the day all fell, allowing direct contact between sunlight and the dark aura.

Sunlight is the bane of the dark aura, constantly eroding it, and the dark clouds formed from the dark aura above the nest were visibly thinning at a discernible rate.

For the first time in hundreds of years, sunlight sprinkled on the land within the nest.

The consequences were not limited to Sharon’s activities in the nest being affected during the day.

The change began first in the sea of rose flowers.

The forever vivid, blood-red roses turned black and withered away the moment sunlight seeped through.

It took less than an hour for them to go from vibrant and lively to decayed and lifeless.

The death of the blood-red roses led to the complete collapse of the blood filtration extraction process in the lair.

Meanwhile, the meat in the Corpse Bone Meat Forest also rapidly decayed under the sunlight.

The entirety of bones and flesh in the lair could remain fresh thanks to the breath of darkness; their decay was very slow, allowing them to be stored for a long time.

Blood was Sharon’s source of food and Strength, and the undecayed bones were the ingredients for creating Blood Crows.

Whenever Blood Crows went out, in addition to bringing back flesh, they would also return with a great number of bird corpses, which were stored in the Corpse Bone Meat Forest.

After being tainted by the flesh, they became natural Blood Crow bodies, that could be resurrected with just a spark of Soul Fire.

That was the unceasing source of the Blood Crows.

Those Blood Crows that died had their bodies damaged, but very few of their Soul Fires dissipated directly; most could return to the lair to be resurrected on these bird carcasses.

Even if the bones of the existing Blood Crows suddenly all vanished, new Blood Crows should have been resurrected from those bird carcasses.

Stored in the lair were enough bird carcasses for all the Blood Crows to resurrect dozens of times, but not one managed to be successfully resurrected before the sunlight came down; as long as they were resurrected, they would become true Undead Creatures, also not fearing the exposure to sunlight.

Sharon quickly realized that there might be something wrong with those bird carcasses as well.

She braved the sky full of falling Blood Crow bodies to check the Corpse Bone Meat Forest before the sunlight eroded the dark energy, only to find that there were corpses but no bones left.

Unable to find the root of the problem, Sharon could only retreat to the safety of the Bone Castle.

And now, the dark energy was also thinning quickly, almost gone—it was more terrifying than a refrigerator suddenly losing power, as the flesh in the Corpse Bone Meat Forest also rapidly decayed.

At this time, Sharon realized that her lair was truly destroyed.

She donned her Black Cloak and went out, taking out the largest jar to scoop up the blood from the very edge of the Blood Pool, which she normally wouldn’t even look at.

In the past, she only drank the sweetest Blood Essence from the very center of the Blood Pool, but this Blood Essence was not only precious but also exceptionally fragile.

Even stored in the purest Crystal Wine Jug and placed inside a Space Ring, it couldn’t be preserved for more than a day.

In contrast, the blood around the edges, which she used to reward only her servants with, lasted a bit longer.

But the sunlight did not give her much time.

She only managed to save two jars of blood, making herself extremely disheveled and losing all semblance of a noble’s image and demeanor.

She had never imagined that her seemingly indestructible lair could be destroyed, and so abruptly at that.

Naturally, she had never, like her Vampire servants, stored these crudely processed bloods she despised in a Space Ring.

Even now, Sharon could not understand how all this had happened.

She knew Mu Ying was the most likely culprit, but her pride and ego prevented her from believing that Mu Ying could do this, destroying in an instant her centuries of accumulation and arrangements.

In Sharon’s eyes, she had sent Blood Crows to blockade Mu Ying’s territory, preventing her Local People from leaving their lands.

In her mind, it wouldn’t be long before Mu Ying faced betrayal from all sides, ultimately coming to kneel and beg Sharon for mercy.

Unexpectedly, just three days had passed, Mu Ying’s territory remained unscathed, whereas her own lair, which she deemed indestructible, was thoroughly ruined.
