I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 395 - 395 385 Orchard Keeper (Combined 3)395: Chapter 385: Orchard Keeper (Combined Chapter 3) 395: Chapter 385: Orchard Keeper (Combined Chapter 3) Xie Sen purely became a big complainer as he sorted through items and grumbled.

“Roar!

(Don’t even think about it, dare to approach my orchard, and I’ll squash you into a meat patty!)”

The Big Brown Bear resolutely defended his territory and assets, not allowing any creature a chance to exploit them.

Xie Sen was still not willing to give up, “How about I pick them myself and for every basket, I give you an additional honey bread?”

The Big Brown Bear remained unmoved, holding firm to his bottom line.

“Roar!

(You can’t pick them, but an extra honey bread works.)”

“Don’t be too excessive!

Any more and I won’t even earn the hardship fee!” Xie Sen complained, sometimes he really wanted to give the bear a good beating!

But considering its size, and the strength to break a tree with one swipe, he dared only to move his lips.

Moreover, this was its territory, a trade was still acceptable, but stealing would be going too far.

At the end of the day, it was because he liked interacting with animals, this hard-to-please but exceptionally smart Big Brown Bear included.

“Roar!

(I can throw in ten more fruits.)” the Big Brown Bear said as if he were bestowing charity.

“...” Xie Sen didn’t speak and turned around, his back towards it, in protest.

The Big Brown Bear glanced at the few honey breads in the basket that weren’t enough to fill even a gap in its teeth.

Wanting to fit just one more, it conceded, “Roar!

(Twenty, no more!)”

Only then did Xie Sen agree.

Mu Ying shook his head, the Big Brown Bear gave up a bit too much.

These fruits, even of average quality, were exotic items in the territory, sold individually at the trading square.

And though Marin’s Bakery’s honey bread was a bit more expensive than white bread, they were reasonably priced, ten fruits for a honey bread was not a bad deal, considering the finances, Xie Sen was making a good profit.

After watching for a while, Mu Ying felt that this brown bear was quite agile in thought.

From the animal conversations, the rich and logical meanings conveyed in its roars, it seemed to be at least as intelligent as Da Hui and Gungun.

Gungun’s intelligence was high because it was a Druid-summoned companion, a contracted animal companion, naturally smarter and stronger than a wild Iron-eating Beast.

Generally speaking, even within the same species, animal companions are smarter than purely wild animals.

Plus, having been fed by Mu Ying from Recovery Spring since its youth added greatly to its abilities.

As for Da Hui, it was because it underwent evolution to become a Magic Beast Sky Wolf.

The intelligence of a Magic Beast is overall a bit higher than that of regular wild beasts, and occasionally Mu Ying also fed them water mixed with Recovery Spring.

But this Big Brown Bear was neither a Magic Beast nor anyone’s animal companion.

It was simply clever by virtue of its bear Talent.

Perhaps animals that had mixed through a zoo were different, or perhaps it had some rare adventure, but this was good news for Mu Ying.

It was smart and desirous, cautious yet not very repulsive towards humans, which was advantageous for Mu Ying.

Spending some sweets to hire it as an observation teacher for his Cultivation should not be difficult.

With everything calculated in his mind, Mu Ying landed next to Xie Sen.

The Big Brown Bear gave them a glance but made no other move.

Mu Ying said to Xie Sen, “I want a brown bear for my next animal form.

There seems to be only this one around the territory.

Introduced by Da Hui, I brought some sweets too.

If this affects your business, I can compensate you with some coins.”

The main issue was that the honey bread Xie Sen gave was too little.

Today, Mu Ying went shopping and cleared out the entire stock of sweet treats from Marin’s Bakery—she’s the picture of financial power.

All stemming from the vampire’s wealthy family now belonging to her.

The Space Rings of those male vampires had already surprised her; and Sharon, being their chief, had stuff in her Space Ring that pushed Mu Ying onto a financially comfortable life path.

It wasn’t just a matter of a few coins; rather, it was literally a small mountain made of Gold Coins, 9999 to be precise.

Next to this Gold Coin Mountain, there was a little money box containing a type of coin Mu Ying had never seen before, gold mixed with purple, a currency more valuable than Gold Coins, with one Purple Gold Coin equivalent to ten thousand Gold Coins.

In the small money box, there were precisely nine such Purple Gold Coins.

The accumulation of a vampire over hundreds of years was really not to be underestimated.

All of this now belonged to Mu Ying, meaning she wouldn’t have to worry about money for a long time.

With so much money, she naturally was willing to pay more for a good education.

However, she had not anticipated that Xie Sen had been engaging in trades with the Big Brown Bear which might disrupt his business.
