In midair, her ability to move around was not as agile as that of a crow with wings.

Sharon knew her arrow skill was pretty good, and that daylight restricted her regeneration ability.

If she got hit by elemental arrows again, it wouldn’t be as easy as last time.

She transformed back into human form, a larger target, and her move speed with flying technique would decrease; she didn’t want to be a sitting duck, so she quickly cast an invisibility technique on herself, preparing to wait for the right opportunity.

Actually, her combat power mainly relied on her race talent skills, and the spells from her warlock profession were secondary.

This was also why she always felt that Mu Ying couldn’t possibly pose a threat to her.

Because even her own warlock profession level, which she considered slightly weaker, was one level higher than Mu Ying’s, not to mention her other more formidable abilities.

However, during the day, her race talent skills were suppressed by sunlight, significantly reducing her strength; her combat power thus mainly depended on her warlock spell casting and other skills she had trained in.

Mu Ying saw Sharon’s figure disappear but did not panic; instead, she continued preparing her spell.

Not long after Sharon vanished, the Snow Rainstorm was cast over the area where Sharon had been.

It was an area attack spell, and as long as Mu Ying knew that Sharon was in that area, it would suffice.

An 8th-level druid’s Snow Rainstorm had a much larger coverage area than before.

Sharon, having just turned invisible and not yet moved, was right in the path of the rain mixed with the snowstorm and hail.

And the rain caused considerable damage to her.

Her regeneration ability was also being suppressed by daylight, resulting in a very slow recovery speed.

The move speed with flying technique was slow, and to leave the range of the Snow Rainstorm as quickly as possible, Sharon landed on the ground, where her move speed suddenly increased.

She managed to get out before taking more serious damage.

But having taken damage, the invisibility technique failed, and her form was revealed again.

Mu Ying found it strange that Sharon, who clearly was a ranged spellcaster, kept retreating instead of counterattacking.

Even if she didn’t know her position, there were area spells to choose from!

To solve this puzzle, Mu Ying cast a Biological Recognition spell on Sharon again while Sharon was dodging the Snow Rainstorm.

This time Sharon had no time to interrupt Mu Ying’s spell.

“Vampire Baron, 9th-level warlock, Count Bloodline...

Talent Skills: Transgender Creature, Fogging Escape, Regeneration, Spider Walk, Charm, Child of the Night...

Spells: Magic Tricks, Mage’s Hand, Frozen Ray, Mastering Language, Cloud Mist Technique, Sleeping Technique, Despair Technique, Fear Technique, Flying Technique, Invisibility Technique, Vampire Touch, Curse, Dominate Humans, Mind Control, Mind Fog...”

Upon this inspection, Mu Ying discovered the problem.

The number of spells Sharon knew wasn’t great, but indeed there were many powerful ones.

She had many ranged attack spells, and they made up the majority of her magic list.

But they had one thing in common: most were spells that affected the mind and will, confounding or controlling, and mostly single-target attack spells requiring a locked target and ideally eye contact to succeed.

No wonder Sharon had not been casting spells; without locking onto her position, she couldn’t effectively use her magic.

However, Sharon possessed a few close-combat attack spells, such as Vampire Touch and Curse.

Both required contact for spell casting.

Vampire Touch could lower the Life Value of the target to feed back to the caster, inflicting significant damage.

Curse was a spell similar to curse magic, with the most common curse effect being a sustained reduction in the target’s attribute values, which could be very troublesome.

Moreover, Mu Ying didn’t have the ability to lift curses.

Additionally, with the Vampire’s innate weapons, the fangs, and her exceptional agility attributes, close combat was a better choice for her at that time.

No wonder Sharon had been trying to close the distance between them all along, it wasn’t without reason.

After probing all of Sharon’s spells, Mu Ying was even more resolute in her strategy to stay on the Magic Flying Carpet, not revealing her form, and maintaining distance to attack with ranged spellcasting.

Once Sharon locked onto her position, the likelihood of Mu Ying withstanding her psychic control type of spells wasn’t high, as their success depended not only on the willpower of the recipient but also on the difference in the Charm Attribute and level between the spellcaster and the recipient.

The key attribute for a Warlock’s spellcasting is Charm, and Mu Ying’s 15 points of Charm were quite strong compared to other professionals, but not when compared to a Warlock specializing in Charm.

With the level difference considered, Mu Ying basically had no chance of withstanding it.

One could only say that she was very lucky today to have chosen the most advantageous combat style for herself; otherwise, if she had given Sharon the chance to cast spells, the situation might not have been the same as it was now.

Realizing that during the day, as long as Sharon couldn’t see her, she couldn’t cast spells on her, and as long as Mu Ying didn’t allow her to get close, she could remain invincible, Mu Ying felt more confident.

Pressing home her advantage, now that Sharon had landed on the ground, Mu Ying was not worried that she could get close to her anymore.

In order to save Mana Value, Mu Ying picked up the Green Wood Longbow again.

Sharon was so irritated, and with obstacles on the ground, she wasn’t as adept at dodging arrows as before, but if she turned back into a crow form, those eight bird essences would still be watching her fiercely!

She felt utterly trapped, with arrows whizzing by close to her body several times; even a slight delay would result in an arrow through the heart.

After diving into the Corpse Bone Meat Forest, with the cover of the remaining withered trees, it became easier for her to dodge.

Thinking of the Vampire’s weakness to water, Mu Ying had an idea.

Once Sharon dived into the Corpse Bone Meat Forest, Mu Ying switched to using the Water Creation Skill.

The ordinary 0-level Magic trick used to condense water, in the hands of a Vampire, was turned into acid rain by Mu Ying.

As her Profession Level rose, the effect of her spells strengthened.

The initial Water Creation Skill could only condense a water ball or a small patch of mist; now, she could create a very large water ball or a significant cloud of rain or mist.

The Mana Value consumed by a 0-level Magic trick was very little, and judging by Sharon’s reactions, it had much higher cost-effectiveness than some higher ring-level spells.

The rain indeed caused Sharon a lot of trouble.

The formerly noble and beautiful, meticulous Vampire Baron was now not only in tattered clothes from the Flame Arrow, but even her snow-white skin had blackened scars from the raindrops.

Although these scars were healing at a slow but visible rate, because her regeneration ability was already suppressed by the sunlight, and the rain was continuous, the healing rate couldn’t keep up with the rate of injury.

Sharon felt not only a persistent scorching pain on her body but also great unease in her heart.

It was incredibly suffocating, feeling like she was being dominated by Mu Ying, unable to fight back.

Even though her power was greatly suppressed during the day, it made her feel exceptionally uncomfortable.
