I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 385 - 385 377 Guardian Armor385: Chapter 377: Guardian Armor 385: Chapter 377: Guardian Armor Mu Ying was the first to notice in the notes that “unlocked most of the power” had changed to “revealed all basic power.”

This meant that the Natural Bracelet likely had no new effects left to unlock.

Looking at the five effects of the Natural Bracelet, it covered assistance, attack, and defense—indeed, it was very comprehensive.

However, the word “basic” was added before power.

Could it be that these effects could be upgraded?

The Natural Bracelet didn’t often get the chance to exert its power directly, but it enhanced Mu Ying’s strength comprehensively, facilitating her training.

The Recovery Spring helped her a lot in caring for flora and fauna, the Feedback Claw allowed her to harvest materials, seeds, and produce without considering the growth cycles of plants and animals, the Balance Scythe increased her attack power against objects of natural aversion, the Wild Tooth enhanced her strength in her Wild Transformation form, and now, the Guardian Armor was a defensive buff.

“Obtain a layer of natural armor in carefully nurtured natural environments,” the carefully nurtured natural environments for Mu Ying were naturally the forests around her territory and her private plantation.

After returning to the territory, Mu Ying tested it.

This Guardian Armor was an invisible energy armor, visible only under the Eye of Nature, composed of natural power.

Mu Ying herself didn’t feel much, but it indeed was a constant passive armor that provided all-around protection against physical attacks, magic attacks, and even mental attacks, somewhat compensating for her lack of defensive power against mental attacks to a certain extent.

The level of defense was related to her affinity with the surrounding natural environment.

For example, in the Main Territory and plantation, the forest outside that she had planted herself, and the Undersea Planting Camp, the defense of the Guardian Armor was the highest.

These were places where she had spent a lot of time caring for them.

In areas far from the Main Territory where she had only occasionally tended to one or two plants, the armor’s strength was much weaker.

Additionally, in the sea area outside the Harbor Camp, the defense of the Guardian Armor was also quite impressive.

Mu Ying pondered the reasons, which likely involved the area once being contaminated by the Altar of the Mermaid God.

She had destroyed the altar and Divine Statue, purifying the area, which was why the protective effect here was so prominent.

By the same token, Mu Ying speculated that the forest on Wolf King Slope, which had been blighted by the Withered Monster, might be in a similar situation.

Realizing this, Mu Ying felt a warmth in her heart.

It really was true that when you protect nature, nature also protects you.

The things she had done for this land and every plant and animal on it, nature had taken to heart, transforming them into armor to protect her.

Previously, Mu Ying had spent a lot of time nourishing plants and protecting the land and environment, partly because she loved nature, but mostly driven by the pursuit of Professional Experience to do these things.

But now, with the presence of the Guardian Armor, she felt a genuine emotional connection to this land.

This mutual protection felt very healing.

Also, she noticed that the Guardian Armor around the outskirts of the Main Territory was unusually thick.

The Main Territory had been expanded; in fact, only the plants within the original area of the Main Territory were the ones she had really taken care of individually, even watering each one with Recovery Spring.

The expanded areas were not as meticulously cared for as before.

Because caring for these plants did not help her much anymore, she naturally shifted her energy to more rewarding efforts, such as direct planting.

But now, within the entire Main Territory, her Guardian Armor’s defensive power was uniform, just like a turtle shell, with no variation.

Mu Ying recalled for a moment, and finally remembered the times she had cast the Plant Nourishment spell everywhere.

After she learned this spell, she applied it to her private sub-camp, the public farm sub-camp, and eventually to all the areas of the main territory, specifically to nourish the soil.

To verify this, she just needed to visit one place.

The public farm sub-camp, a place where she had cast spells but had never planted or tended to any plants.

There, Mu Ying noticed that under the vision of the Eye of Nature, the thickness of the Guardian Armor was only slightly less than that in the main territory and was much thicker than in other areas.

Mu Ying suddenly had a deeper understanding of the Plant Nourishment spell.

This was a large-range spell, and perhaps she shouldn’t just focus on her own territory.

If she could nourish the forests around her as well, the defensive effect of the Guardian Armor would be very effective in those places.

The Plant Nourishment spell’s effect lasted only one year.

If she were to guard this land day after day, year after year, as well as its forests, would her armor become thicker and thicker?

After analyzing the armor thickness in various areas, Mu Ying found this to be entirely feasible; the more she cared for an area, the thicker the armor became.

This realization suddenly struck her.

Today, when she fought with Sharon, she felt her attack power was too weak; after a long battle, she ultimately let Sharon escape, which annoyed her somewhat.

But Druids really are a profession inclined towards protection!

They may not have many offensive means, but they possess numerous abilities to protect themselves.

There is a trade-off, and there’s no need to be upset about it.

Ultimate protection is not inferior to ultimate attack.

Ensuring one’s safety and protecting oneself first, then attacking— even if the battle process is slower due to weaker offensive means, what harm is there?

This actually perfectly matched Mu Ying’s own battle style; she liked to secure her safety first and then plan her next move.

She might not be able to follow the path of Mages who bombard with spells, but stacking “turtle shells” was not bad either!

It was even more suitable for her.

The emergence of the Guardian Armor showed her new possibilities.

Initially, she had also planned to weaken Sharon again and again, first cutting off her limbs, then her food supply, leaving her extremely weak before eliminating her for good, so why did she lose her usual calm today?

Upon reflection, it was because today had gone too smoothly.

The clouds over the Blood Crow Nest had unexpectedly dispersed, causing the entire Blood Crow Nest to directly collapse.

So she advanced her attack plan prematurely.

During that time, Sharon had been unable to counter, which gave her the illusion that she could easily take her down.

Although she had the upper hand on the surface throughout the fight, she had failed to kill Sharon in one fell swoop, hence the feeling of disparity.

Simply put, things had been going too well earlier, which made her a bit complacent!

She lost her calm demeanor and became eager for quick success, which is why she was so anxious.

Now that she had calmed down, she realized that this was actually just a return to the original path she had planned; following her plan earnestly wasn’t bad at all.
