I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 362 - 362 356 Da Ming362: Chapter 356 Da Ming 362: Chapter 356 Da Ming “Practice spells?

Can’t be seen by outsiders?” Liu Luoluo and Zheng Jing listened and pointed unanimously to a place, “The little griffins are too fierce; that area is segregated, and usually, no one goes there.

Da Ming really misses you; every time he has a moment, he squats at the entrance of the Griffin District, probably waiting for you.

He’s very obedient now, even helps me manage the smaller ones, which really saves me trouble.

You should be able to practice spells there in peace.”

Da Ming is the little griffin she had personally saved.

After rescuing it, Mu Ying hadn’t visited it again.

She hadn’t expected it to still be waiting for her.

Mu Ying suddenly felt a mix of emotion and guilt.

She had completely forgotten about the little griffin.

She felt like a horrible person.

It’s completely because the little griffin’s affection for her was so unexpected that she couldn’t really feel it.

“Ahem, let’s go there then!” said Mu Ying.

Fortunately, not too much time had passed, otherwise, it really would have been awkward to explain to the little griffin, especially since last time, in order for it to listen to Zheng Jing, she had told it to be good and that she would come to see it whenever she had time.

Yes, she had been very busy, never having the time, but remembering now wasn’t too late.

Following Zheng Jing, they walked to the Griffin District.

In a staircase-shaped wooden frame in the valley, the little griffins lined up, flapping their wings and gliding down from above.

They had grown a circle bigger than when they had just hatched, but their wings still couldn’t fully support their weight, so basically, when they landed, it was a face plant.

Fortunately, they were robust and quite resistant to crashing.

Only the lead griffin, which was a bit larger, landed steadily on the ground.

“Da Ming’s left claw lost a finger, and initially, he had poor balance, but he was determined and wouldn’t accept being outdone by the other three little ones.

He gritted his teeth and trained, eventually adapting.

When those three were still stubborn and wouldn’t obey, he obediently followed my commands and even got picked on by the others when I wasn’t around.

Since his foot wasn’t adapted yet, he couldn’t fight back.

But because he was obedient, he rightfully received more food rewards, his body grew stronger and surpassed those three always-mischievous fellows, and then he single-handedly put them in their place, establishing his status as the big brother.

Those three can now obediently follow commands, and Da Ming deserves a lot of the credit.

He truly regards you as his master.

Now that you’re here practicing your spells, you’ll get to spend more time with him, such a good child!” Zheng Jing said earnestly, looking at her like a teacher does when talking to the irresponsible parent of their best and brightest student.

Being unilaterally regarded as the master, Mu Ying was also quite confused!

When Da Ming landed and saw his long-awaited master, he let out an excited cry, then ran towards her, using both claws and wings.

Seeing him like this, Mu Ying thought of nothing else; he was her baby!

What does it matter if she could fly?

Raising another flying baby was no problem, especially since he was so attached to her, unlike a certain someone who had forgotten his parents after getting a wife and kids.

What a wonderful little guy!

Mu Ying reached out her hands and embraced the overly excited, stumbling Da Ming, “Good, I’ve come to see you!”

Da Ming: (
’▽’
)!

“From now on, come sleep at home with sister.

Just come here in the morning for training,” Mu Ying used animal conversation, speaking to him.

“Chirp chirp!” Da Ming excitedly burrowed into Mu Ying’s arms.

Mu Ying smiled and patted it.

Now, she deeply felt the attachment the little one had for her, something she hadn’t anticipated before.

She hadn’t realized how easily loyalty from a griffin could come and had neglected it for such a long time.

Zheng Jing watched enviously from the side, knowing that Mu Ying truly had accepted Da Ming and feeling happy for the two of them.

“Does Da Ming have any dietary considerations?” Since she had decided to let it come and go from the Griffin District to her plantation every day, she was planning to take good care of it.

It was different from Gungun, Little Red, and Little Stone.

The latter three were all connected to her by contracts, sharing a mental bond.

When she formed a connection with them, she knew how to care for them.

But Da Ming’s bond with her was purely out of life-saving gratitude, without a contract.

When Mu Ying communicated with it, she could only use animal conversation.

However, a griffin’s intelligence was not as high as that of an animal companion, and communication often had unclear meanings.

“Right now, it primarily eats raw meat and cannot eat food cooked with oil and salt.

The food at the Breeding Camp will be prepared for it.

As it grows, we will train them to hunt, so you don’t need to worry about its feeding.

Since it has offered you its loyalty, you should spend more time with it.

Only then can you develop some tacit understanding.

In the future, in the sky, it can become your most loyal companion, even reaching the level of emotional connection seen in animal companions’ skills,”

Zheng Jing told her in detail about the training methods and dietary structure of griffins at each growth Stage.

“Once Da Ming learns well and leads the way, the other griffins that it conquers will gradually learn well and become excellent mounts, so I ask you, Lord, to put more effort into it.”

Mu Ying: “...”

They even called her Lord, which really showed that they worried she wouldn’t favour the griffin mount.

She indeed used to think that way since she had many means of flying: the Wild Transformation into an owl form, the Spell Skywalking, the flying broom, and even the Magic Flying Carpet, each with its advantages.

The owl was suitable for hiding one’s identity and for probing while flying.

Skywalking was slow, but it allowed her to move in the air as if on the ground, without diverting her focus to control her body, convenient for fighting in the air.

The flying broom was suitable for not-too-long, flexible flight trips.

The Magic Flying Carpet was covert, could auto-pilot for long-distance flying.

At first, she truly lacked nothing, the importance of the griffin mount to the territory far outweighed its personal significance to her.

Therefore, she handed over all matters concerning the griffins to a manager she had hired, without any burdens.

But now, reminded by Zheng Jing, Mu Ying realized that mounts like the flying broom and Magic Flying Carpet, though alchemy Items, lacked the liveliness of a living being, which could exist as her combat companion.

Once their rapport reached a certain level, it could not only fly with her in the sky but also help her dodge attacks, freeing up more of her energy for attacking.

It was just that Mu Ying was used to tackling problems on her own.

For matters not closely related to her personal safety, she could easily delegate them to others.

However, for things that truly concerned her personal safety, like combat, she wasn’t accustomed to trusting others, including animal companions, and thus she had overlooked this possibility.

Understanding this, she also reflected on it.

She didn’t know if she could overcome this mentality and achieve a unity of mind with Da Ming as with a rider and a mount, but she wanted to try.
