I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 251 - 251 248 Game Update251: Chapter 248 Game Update 251: Chapter 248 Game Update One week later in the early morning, Mu Ying went to practice her spells at Rocky Mountain as usual; the environment there was helpful for her practice of the Stone Piercing Technique.

Even so, after such a long time, her Stone Piercing Technique had still not reached the standard level; she could only just manage to cast the spell successfully, ensuring that her Mana Value did not suffer any unnecessary loss, but her Spell Casting Speed remained very slow.

You should know that during this time, she practiced for more than an hour each morning, waited for her Mana Value to recover, and then practiced for another hour in the evening, yet her progress remained slow, which shows the difficulty of a 4th circle spell.

“Morning!

Off to practice your spell again?”

Passing by the Quarry Camp, Professor Du greeted her.

Mu Ying smiled and nodded, “Yes!”

She left the camp, climbed a Stone Mountain, and as the sun had just started to rise, she began her practice.

If it were just mechanical practice, casting 4th circle spells seven times would drain her Mana Value, but she actually spent more time on summaries after each spell casting.

An hour passed, her Mana Value was down to 10 points, and there were several stone thorns added to the Stone Mountain.

The sun was now fully up, and the sky was bright.

Having finished her spell practice for today, Mu Ying was about to descend the mountain when a series of electronic tones sounded in her ear.

[The Doomsday Game has been online for a full year; the game has been updated]

Update complete]

[Congratulations to the top five players on the global level leaderboard “Mu Ying, Draco, Vinica, Atom, Maz” for becoming the first batch of Trialists from Deep Blue Star.]

[Player Mu Ying already has a slot; the rankings will roll down, making the sixth player Li Luoxia the fifth Trialist.]

[Current number of Trialists from Deep Blue Star: 8]

[Dear Trialists, your performance in the Trial World will determine the resources and growth of Deep Blue Star, so please work hard for your Mother Star!]

[Attention: Once a trial slot is bound, it cannot be transferred!]

After listening to the series of electronic sounds, Mu Ying felt a sense of relief, as she had anticipated both the world integration and the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial slots beforehand.

So it updated at the one-year mark.

The information contained in the electronic sounds was substantial, but Mu Ying didn’t have time to look into it further since she was still in the wilderness and her Mana Value was low.

She hurried toward the Quarry Camp.

Fortunately, the practice spot she chose for safety reasons wasn’t far from the Quarry Camp, and a quick jog got her there in minutes.

The Quarry Camp was bustling this time.

Players who usually rushed to the mines to dig stone for money were all gathered in the stone yard, discussing.

As soon as Mu Ying walked in, they started bombarding her with questions.

“Lord!

Amazing, number one in the world!”

“Lord!

You really are a Trialist!

What’s the trial like?”

“Lord, the world is about to integrate!

How high level is our Territory Shield, can it hold up?”

...

Mu Ying: “...”

Was she crazy?

She should have transformed into an owl and flown away.

“Trials are like playing a virtual game; the only difference is if you die, your account is deleted.

The Contraceptive Potions you guys are drinking, I got them from the trial,” Mu Ying said, a bit mischievously.

“Right now, the shield can withstand level 8 damage.

If really necessary, we can power it up further by charging it with energy, so don’t worry.

Our territory’s savings are more than enough; the money earnt was for times like this,” she reassured.

After Mu Ying had raised the shield level to 7, she spent the energy to boost it further; now, the Territory Shield of the Main Territory and all the Sub-camps combined cost 2000 energy a day, which was equivalent to 20 silver coins.

After briefly chatting with them, Mu Ying teleported back to the Plantation and started calling on the Dingling Flowers one by one.

“Professor Su, several mining camps have shut down temporarily today to avoid safety accidents.

Could you please help disperse the crowd?”

“Xu Shan, the iron mining camp has suspended operation for today...”

“Ah Qiang, the stone mining camp...”

“Guan Hai, coal mining today...”

After getting responses, Mu Ying had time to check the updates for the Doomsday Game.

Mu Ying opened the Player Manual, which mainly included forum updates.

The public chat area remained the same as before, but several rankings had changed.

The combat record leaderboard had disappeared, and the single level leaderboard was now divided into two: a global level leaderboard and a regional level leaderboard.

The regional level leaderboard was the same as before, displaying the level rankings for the Xia Country region.

The global level leaderboard was a new addition.

Mu Ying clicked to open it.

[Global Level Leaderboard]

[No.1 Mu Ying (Druid Level 7 1%) (Xia Country Region)]

[No.2 Draco (Barbarian Level 6 80%) (Bear Country Region)]

[No.3 Vinica (Bard Level 6 65%) (Northern Europe Region)]

[No.4 Atom (Wanderer Level 6 32%) (Southern Australia Region)]

[No.5 Maz (Mage Level 6 25%) (Ximei Region)]

[No.6 Li Luoxia (Priest Level 6 20%) (Xia Country Region)]

[No.7 Yamashima Yuusuke (Wanderer Level 6 19%) (Neon Region)]

[No.8 Daxia (Forest Patrol Level 6 17%) (Northern Europe Region)]

[No.9 Hope (Martial Monk Level 6 15%) (Bear Country Region)]

[No.10 Hernan (Warrior Level 6 12%) (Ximei Region)]

...

Mu Ying scrutinized the names, professions, and regions of the top ten.

The top ten included almost all the profession types, with only Paladin and Warlock professions absent.

This was expected, as Paladins require strict adherence to their code and have high requirements, while the Warlock profession is absent because all native players from Deep Blue Star are pure-blooded humans.

Only those with special bloodlines can take on the Warlock profession, and a Warlock’s professional abilities stem from their bloodline.

In this trial, the Xia Country Region seemed a bit stronger than other regions; people from the Neon Region must be frustrated.

The gap in level progress among the top five was still relatively large, while the difference between the fifth and tenth place was very close.

Both she and Li Luoxia were on the leaderboard, one at the top and one in sixth place.

As they were both trialists, their placements were shifted accordingly, but they didn’t give away their spots to outsiders.

Yamashima Yuusuke, in seventh place, was only 1% behind Li Luoxia’s level—just that little bit short.

That’s luck for you!

There were six regions in total, and only the Neon Region had no trialists, while Xia Country had two.

Based solely on the level rankings of the top ten, the Xia Country Region seemed to be the strongest.

But in reality, Mu Ying and Li Luoxia, one a Druid and the other a Priest, were professions not adept at combat.

The Druid was slightly better off.

Without teammates, a Priest’s survivability was poor.

Therefore, aside from the Neon and Southern Australia Region being slightly weaker, with only one person in the top ten, the other regions were pretty much on par.
