I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 289 - 289 285 The Black-Haired Woman289: Chapter 285: The Black-Haired Woman 289: Chapter 285: The Black-Haired Woman Leaving Fishman Village, they continued flying north.

Before long, they spotted the Blood Crow Nest roiling with a mass of vortex-like dark clouds.

This location had likely shifted south more than a mile.

Mu Ying was really curious about how such a massive nest had moved southward as a whole.

Apart from the area where the nest was situated, there were no traces of the surrounding mountains, forests, or grasslands being crushed.

Clearly, it hadn’t moved across the ground.

If not over land, then it must have been through the air.

Could it be that the Blood Crows carried the nest as they flew?

Mu Ying pondered the scene.

To lift such a huge nest, how many Blood Crows would it take?

Perhaps the flocks that went out earlier were just a minority!

Today, they had killed quite a few Blood Crows, but now, looking out from afar at the Blood Crow Nest atop the Corpse Bone Forest, the number of Blood Crows did not seem fewer than during their last visit.

It was still a densely packed mass, with not a single gap visible.

However, the rose flower sea in front of the Bone Castle in the middle of the Corpse Bone Forest wasn’t as silent and deserted as before.

There was an additional long table.

Seated on the Bone Throne at the head of the table was a person dressed in a pure black lace long gown, leisurely swirling a glass filled with deep red liquid.

That person’s eyes were downcast, with long black hair hiding their face, making it unclear to Mu Ying.

There were others seated around—seven in total, all of whom appeared male.

However, they all stood, their glasses of wine looking more turbid.

Only the one on the throne was lazily seated, holding a wine glass that—even from this distance—looked exceptionally clear and bright.

All seven men and the woman had pure black hair and pale complexions.

They seemed human, yet not quite human.

Even among the people of Xia Country, known for their black hair and eyes, very few actually had pure black hair—most had a deep brown shade.

And they were exceptionally pale, an unnatural kind of pale.

Moreover, the wine they were drinking was scooped from a blood-red fountain at the very center of the bowl-shaped nest.

That was not wine at all, but clearly the blood gathered after the slaughter of the Blood Crows.

Strangely, Mu Ying’s Eye of Nature sensed a strong natural repulsion and the aura of death on the Blood Crows, Corpse Bone Forest, the rose flower sea above, and the seven men, but the woman on the throne, while bearing the heaviest aura of death, had barely noticeable natural repulsion—just no natural powers wrapping around her.

She was indeed a peculiar person.

Typically, creatures have either some natural powers entwining them or carry a natural repulsive aura, which often is accompanied by the aura of death, mostly among the undead creatures.

But Mu Ying had never seen someone who had neither natural powers nor was repelled by nature, yet bore such a dense aura of death.

Such intense Power of Death suggested she must also be an undead creature.

Suddenly, the person on the throne seemed to notice something, lifting her head and sweeping her gaze across the sky.

Mu Ying’s pupils contracted, and she quickly averted her gaze.

Fortunately, she was far enough away that the other probably just felt something and hadn’t spotted her.

But her eyes were red, as red as the drink in her hand.

Mu Ying pondered thoughtfully.

Although she couldn’t probe her race, the features were too obvious — humanoid, pale skin, blood-drinking, and the persistent gloomy clouds above the Blood Crow Nest.

Was she a Vampire?

Wuyaya’s Monster Atlas had records of such creatures.

Indeed, they were Undead Creatures, and highly intelligent ones at that.

As for what specific abilities she possessed, that was still unknown, and she’d have to ask the outsiders of the territory.

In any case, the opponent was powerful — a formidable enemy!

Mu Ying left on her Flying Carpet.

Although intelligent Vampires were troublesome, they were still a secondary concern.

No matter how strong, after all, there were only eight of them.

Moreover, the Doomsday Game placed significant restrictions on instance creatures whose strength far exceeded the players’ levels.

Even though their actions were no longer restricted, their power was still suppressed within a certain range, just like those mighty outsiders from Deep Blue Star.

Compared to them, the Blood Crows, who relied on their numbers to win and were completely unrestricted despite their lower individual strength, were more problematic.

Moreover, it seemed like the Vampires were drinking the fresh blood collected by the Blood Crows from various creatures.

Dealing with the Blood Crows would also cripple one of their major supports.

But the Blood Crows felt endless, like cockroaches; no matter how many were killed, they seemed infinite.

Cockroaches?

A thought suddenly struck Mu Ying.

Cockroaches breed quickly and are notoriously difficult to exterminate.

The Blood Crows were similar; so many had died, yet there were still so many.

Although it was unknown how, there must be a way for them to rapidly replenish their numbers.

The casual kills of each group of Blood Crows that showed up barely impacted their overall numbers, which was too similar to cockroaches.

When you see a cockroach in your house and kill it, more remain hidden, breeding at a rate you never catch up with.

Thus, various methods for exterminating cockroaches have been developed.

In her previous life, when her rental property had cockroaches, she used a contagious poison bait that finally eradicated them.

This poison exploited the cockroaches’ habit of cannibalizing their dead.

One cockroach would eat the bait, die, and its corpse would then become a source of poison, continuing the cycle of infection.

Could the same method be used on these Blood Crows?

Currently, whether after hunting or resting in the Corpse Bone Forest, the Blood Crows stayed very close together, and the collected corpses and flesh were stored together.

Although it seemed they did not have the habit of cannibalizing, the idea of a contagious poison was worth considering.

She would definitely need to find a solution with Magic Potion.

However, she didn’t possess such a Magic Potion formula currently and hadn’t reached the level to invent a brand new Magic Potion yet.

But that didn’t mean she was entirely out of options.

There were many witches whose research in Magic Potion was more profound than hers.

During her sophomore year, there was a particularly skilled witch in Magic Potions who came weekly to enhance their course, providing a great deal of help in her study of the subject.

That senior witch, almost two hundred years old, had numerous acquaintances specializing in Magic Potions, including those who even founded a special Magic Potion society that required a certain level of skill to join.

They had the capability to create new Magic Potion formulas.

The creator of the latest publicly available standard low-level Magic Potion formula in the textbook was still alive and far outclassed her, a rookie who had studied Magic Potions for just over two years.

She had kept the contact of that teacher and maintained communication.

She planned to visit the Emerald World tonight and write a letter to inquire.

She had just sold the second crop of Dingling Flowers and had the financial capability to purchase such customized Magic Potions and formulas.

With a plan in mind, the pressure lightened considerably.

For a moment, it felt like the moon shone brighter.
