I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 290 - 290 286 Taming Animals290: Chapter 286: Taming Animals 290: Chapter 286: Taming Animals “Dingling~ Dingling~”

Zheng Jing had finally remembered to contact her.

Mu Ying touched the flower bud.

“Hello?

I’ve bought the painting for you.

When will you be free for me to give it to you?” Zheng Jing’s voice came through.

“Right now!

I’ll come to the Breeding Camp to find you,” Mu Ying said, glancing at the three Griffin Eggs beside her.

She cranked up the speed of the Flying Carpet to the maximum, entered the Breeding Camp, hugged the bamboo basket holding the Griffin Eggs, retracted the carpet, and teleported to the door of Zheng Jing’s lounge.

The door had barely been knocked when it opened.

“Come and see!” Zheng Jing, excitedly, opened the door and tried to pull her inside.

However, she paused upon seeing the bamboo basket Mu Ying was holding.

“What, what, what is this?”

“Griffin Eggs.

Didn’t I call you just for this?

But someone led me astray,” Mu Ying complained.

“Are these for me to tame?” Zheng Jing caressed the three eggs affectionately.

Mu Ying nodded.

“I’m leaving them to you.

Go for it.”

“Hehe, okay,” Zheng Jing happily took the bamboo basket.

“Oh, about the painting, go see it for yourself.

It’s on the table in the hall, 98 copper coins.”

Mu Ying: “...”

This was a typical case of forgetting the old love for a new one, even though it wasn’t like this just a moment ago.

Mu Ying walked over to take a look.

It was a mid-sized watercolor painting, nicely framed in wood.

The painting was indeed quite good.

There wasn’t much coloring, but it vividly captured the essence.

She felt it even looked better than her real self, especially handsome.

The purchase was worth it!

But...

where did he get those paints?

As Mu Ying thought this, she asked it.

“Bought them at the general store, didn’t you know?

It’s rumored around the territory that Wuyaya can dig out anything you want from under the counter of a general store, except for equipment,” Zheng Jing said while holding the eggs.

“By the way, how did you steal the eggs?”

“Blood Crows also attacked Griffin Cliff.

These eggs became orphans with no other Griffins to care for them, so I stole them,” Mu Ying explained.

Zheng Jing looked at the eggs even more sympathetically, embracing and caressing them.

“Don’t worry, little darlings, mommy will take care of you from now on!”

Mu Ying watched, somewhat dumbfounded.

Wasn’t she being a bit too dramatic?

It seemed she genuinely loved Griffins.

“I’ll tell you this, leave Little Darlings to me, and rest assured.

If I can’t tame them, probably no one else in Deep Blue Star could either.

I’ve awakened a special skill!” Zheng Jing boasted to her.

Mu Ying raised her eyebrows slightly.

“Awakened a skill?”

“Yes!” Zheng Jing nodded.

“Haven’t I always been studying methods to tame animals?

And I’ve made some breakthroughs with animals like the Fire-breathing Chicken, Jumping Rabbit, and Running Bull.

Then one day, as I clarified and organized all this knowledge, the Player Manual notified me of a new skill: Animal Taming.”

“What did the prompt say again?

Oh, it was something like: ‘Through constant research and summary, you have achieved success in animal taming, and you have acquired the general skill of Animal Taming.

You can freely obtain a method to tame one kind of animal.’”

“Guess what I chose?” Zheng Jing teased.

What’s there to guess?

By the look of her, it must be a Griffin.

“A Griffin, of course,” Mu Ying said.

“Yes, it’s a Griffin.

I won’t lie; I’ve been drooling over them for a long time.

Such robust bodies, smooth body curves, truly my second favorite love beast!” Zheng Jing said.

Mu Ying asked curiously, “What’s the first?”

“Obviously, it’s the panda,” Zheng Jing said matter-of-factly, her eyes filled with envy and admiration.

Why do some people get to claim a free panda when summoning an animal companion?

Mu Ying decided to change the subject, “You now have specialized beast taming skills, making you a high-level talent in our territory.

Let’s increase your salary.

Your daily wage will go up from 10 copper coins to 15 copper coins, and there’s a bonus for successfully taming a Griffin Mount.

Keep up the hard work!

If I get a chance, I’ll bring back some Griffin Eggs, and our territory’s army of flying mounts will depend on you.”

Under the temptation of a salary increase, Zheng Jing finally let go of her dear Griffin and threw herself into Mu Ying’s arms, “Sugar daddy, I love you!”

“Alright, alright, it’s getting late.

Let’s rest early.

I’m heading out,” Mu Ying shrugged off her ‘magical hands’ and walked outside.

Upon leaving, she could still hear Zheng Jing muttering, “How should I hatch the eggs?

Fire-breathing Chicken?

No no, although they’re much more obedient now, it wouldn’t be good if the eggs got cooked by accident.

Jumping Rabbit?

Hmm, Jumping Rabbits are gentler and more suitable; their body temperature is also close...”

Mu Ying felt hopeful about the territory’s Griffin army for a moment.

She truly hadn’t expected such a windfall from this visit.

It turns out that in addition to the skills granted by a profession, individuals can also develop new skills through their own research.

And it’s not just getting a skill name recognized by the Player Manual’s attribute panel but also gaining some related knowledge for that skill.

Although it’s nowhere near as good as directly gaining knowledge points and training techniques when leveling up in a profession skill, this type of generic skill isn’t restricted by profession.

Anyone can learn it.

She wondered if this approach could be replicated.

But currently, Mu Ying herself no longer had the chance to follow this path.

She hadn’t even mastered all the Druid profession’s skills and spells, and there was still a ton of witchcraft to study.

Compared to researching a new skill from scratch, learning from the knowledge left by predecessors is much more efficient.

But it must be said, the Player Manual’s method of imparting skills is quite impressive, as it essentially injects the tutorials directly into the players.

Even with tutorials, not everyone can practice them clearly, but since the knowledge is implanted in their minds, theoretically, each individual is talented, although actual practice might vary due to different abilities.

Learning spells is much harder.

The knowledge is not injected but displayed on the Player Manual, requiring players to learn from theory on their own.

That’s why spell-based professions are harder to learn than skill-based professions.

All of a sudden, Mu Ying thought of a question.

The Player Manual can provide all sorts of professional knowledge, even languages.

As far as she knew, in the Multiverse beyond Deep Blue Star, Player Manuals should be bound to each person from birth.

Unlike people from Deep Blue Star who need to kill zombies to obtain a Player Manual, people outside always have their own Player Manual bound from birth.

If the Player Manual can take on the full responsibility of imparting various knowledge, does that mean in the Multiverse beyond Deep Blue Star, schools and teachers don’t even exist?

Are they, like her, relying solely on Player Manuals, following skill guides to learn independently?

She was quite curious about this matter, and considering the situation with the Vampire, she thought she might as well find out more tomorrow.
