I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 287 - 287 283 Stealing Eggs287: Chapter 283: Stealing Eggs 287: Chapter 283: Stealing Eggs During dinner, Mu Ying was browsing the player forum, munching away, when she suddenly came across a post: “The Queen now has a face!”

She clicked to read more.

The first entry, presumably by the original poster:

“My heavens, Mu Ying was so cool today, that red Thorny Battle Armor, that Super Scythe, every swing sent the Blood Crows plummeting, but the most important thing, she can fly, she can fly, she can fly!

It’s like even the air has weight, and she can step up and down on it!

The moment I saw her, the Queen took shape in my heart.

Why doesn’t the forum have an image upload function?

I sketched a Thorn Queen after I got back, but can’t share it with all of you, sigh, half the joy is gone just like that!”

Mu Ying’s gaze locked onto “Thorn Queen,” “Not bad, not bad, good taste!”

She continued to read.

“Can fly?

My heavens, does that mean Druids have Flying Skill at Level 7?

Humanity’s ultimate dream has come true, who cares about airplanes, flying on your own is the real thrill!”

“If Druids can fly at Level 7, I bet the Mage, Priest, and other Magic-like professions can’t be far off, right?

Skill Casting Professions might be slightly later though.

Just not sure if we Skill-based professions will get Flying Skill!”

“Original Poster!

Original Poster!

Are you at Qingshan Town?

I’d pay to see that drawing if it’s good enough!”

“Same here, same here!”

“Paying top dollar!”

“It’s just a drawing, is it really worth that much?

Are the folks of Qingshan Town always so extravagant?

Struggling to afford food, and yet you have spare money for such useless things?”

“I picked up Crow Feathers today and made a killing, what’s it to you?

Jealous?

Not gonna give you any!”

“Given everyone’s enthusiastic calls, I’ve decided to exhibit the piece at the tavern tonight.

If the price is right, you can take it home!

Eight o’clock tonight, don’t miss out!”

...

Mu Ying: “...”

Quite the entrepreneurial spirit!

But doesn’t this count as a violation of portraiture rights?

Oh well, money from the Local People eventually ends up in her pocket anyway.

Considering he’s calling her the Queen, she’ll let it slide this time.

The posts today really spiced up her dinner!

After finishing her meal, she cheerfully hopped on her Magic Flying Carpet and went out.

There was no short supply of Blood Crows today, and the Breeding Camp wasn’t their only target.

By now, the Blood Crows should have all returned, and she wanted to check out their activities for the day.

If this skirmishing with the territory continues daily, it won’t be good since it’ll affect everyone’s travels.

Although the territory has reached a basic level of self-sufficiency, and half of the players have found jobs within the territory, which means staying put won’t lead to anyone starving, the people still need to fight and level up.

Hiding in the territory and fighting Blood Crows every day isn’t a viable option.

While she didn’t have a solid plan yet, collecting information in advance and looking for strategies to counter them was a good idea.

So she flew off on her Magic Flying Carpet, first to the Breeding Camp, then following the traces left by the Blood Crows deeper into Chaotic Stone Forest.

The predatory method of the Blood Crows spared no beast or Magic Beast; every so often, she spotted skeletal remnants and fur of animals that had been gnawed clean.

She even found a fresh skeleton of a Griffin not far from the Breeding Camp, likely the Griffin that had been at the camp.

If a Level 4 Griffin can’t stand against a swarm of Level 1 Blood Crows, there’s something to be said for strength in numbers!

Mu Ying pondered and flew towards Griffin Cliff.

And indeed, the scene was a mess.

Griffin Cliff had also come under attack.

There were two or three Griffin carcasses at the bottom of the cliff.

However, the losses of the griffins were not significant; many were injured, but the number of griffins that died was not large compared to the overall population.

It was just that several griffin nests were scattered in the fight, and some griffin eggs were smashed, which pained Mu Ying greatly.

It was already dark, and the griffins were still licking each other’s wounds, rebuilding their nests!

Could there also be eggs that had lost both parents in this disaster?

Mu Ying expressed that she was very willing to take over and care for them.

Hmm?

That griffin hasn’t moved at all, has it?

She searched around Griffin Cliff for several laps and noticed that on a cliff wall in the middle, there seemed to be a griffin that hadn’t moved at all.

The color of its feathers also seemed abnormally dark.

Could it be dead?

Mu Ying stealthily approached on her flying carpet.

Thanks to the flying carpet’s magic effect of blocking others’ vision, she reached the nest undetected.

The griffins’ perception was not as high as that of the Fishmen; the Fishmen could detect your presence within a certain range, even if you were invisible, and swiftly discover your scent.

So even though their individual strength was not great, they could quickly detect and respond to any approaching danger.

Griffins, on the other hand, had great eyesight and a sharp sense of smell, but their sixth sense was not strong.

Sitting on a magic carpet, one would not be seen, and as long as one didn’t get too close, to let them sniff out an irregular scent or detect an anomaly through the wind, there was no danger.

At this moment, however, Mu Ying was very close, and the griffin stretched out on the nest had remained immobile.

Mu Ying smelled a strong scent of blood.

Upon closer inspection, she saw that the griffin’s feathers were all dyed red, and its plumage was pockmarked, as if it had been severely pecked, and its eyes were tightly shut.

It remained still, showing no sign of breathing, as if it truly were dead.

Yet, its posture seemed protective, as if shielding something.

A thorny magic wand appeared in her hand, and with a gentle nudge upward at the tip of the wand, the body of the griffin was lifted slightly, revealing a hint of white.

Eggs!

Mu Ying rejoiced inwardly and nudged her magic flying carpet closer to the cliff’s edge.

She then threw two vine seeds into the nest and cast a spell on them, making the vines prop up the griffin’s carcass a bit; although the wings still drooped, it didn’t seem from a distance that the griffin was suspended.

Now, she could see more clearly–three eggs were nestled beneath the griffin!

The vines extended branches, slowly pushing the three large eggs out a bit.

Mu Ying maneuvered the flying carpet to catch them on the outside.

One by one, they rolled onto the flying carpet.

Success!

Mu Ying hugged the three griffin eggs and made her escape.

She ran for several miles in one go, and her heart pounded with the thrill of her first theft.

Even though these griffin eggs were orphans that wouldn’t have survived on their own, there were still quite a few griffins back at Griffin Cliff!

It took a while for her to calm down, and then Mu Ying began to consider how to deal with the three griffin eggs.

She definitely didn’t have the time to tame them, and griffin mounts weren’t of much use to her; the magic flying carpet was much more convenient than a griffin.

Besides, she already had an Owl form, which allowed her to fly long distances on her own.

Therefore, it was better to entrust them to someone else to tame.

As for who that person would be, the choice was obvious: Zheng Jing, who had always been in charge of breeding and taming animals at the Breeding Camp.
