I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 279 - 279 275 Sleeping Beauty279: Chapter 275 Sleeping Beauty 279: Chapter 275 Sleeping Beauty After Prince Ferena climbed onto the Flying Carpet, Fairy Mu Ying directed it to ascend and fly towards the Thorny Forest.

This time, they didn’t trigger any thorny trees to riot.

The Thorny Forest stretched as far as the eye could see.

All the buildings that had once been on this land were now occupied by thorns; the shorter ones were completely obscured, while the taller structures still faintly showed traces of brick and stone.

Even so, the Capital City and the Royal Palace of the Thorny Kingdom were very conspicuous.

The name of the Thorny Kingdom wasn’t due to the mutant thorny trees currently in view, but because this place originally loved to grow various kinds of thorns, especially around the walls of houses.

Even the city walls of the Royal Capital of the Thorny Kingdom had once been surrounded by a ring of thorns.

After the appearance of steel thorns, these thorns replaced the original ones.

The later mutations of thorns, though generally tree-like, also had very tenacious branches and strong climbing abilities.

So now, the tall city walls of the Capital were living landmarks, standing much taller than other areas even if covered in thorns.

Fairy Mu Ying soon found the place.

A city covered in green, with buildings entirely encrusted in thorns, looked quite beautiful.

The Royal Palace Castle was the tallest building in the Capital City, also covered in thorns, which were thicker here than elsewhere.

But a closer look revealed that all the thorns at the Royal Palace Castle merely clung to the surface of the building, none penetrating inside.

This was very unusual, as in the Inner City near the palace, the thorns spared no part of the buildings, their infiltration was ubiquitous.

Could there indeed be something protecting the Royal Palace?

Fairy Mu Ying found a tower where the thorns were relatively sparse, used Plant Magic to push them aside, and led Prince Ferena inside.

Prince Ferena pulled out a map of the castle, “The Princess’s bedroom should be over there!”

Fairy Mu Ying nodded, signaling him to lead the way.

The long-sealed castle was dusty everywhere, the gold paint on the walls peeling off, signs of decay pervading every corner.

But once they reached the main castle, everything here seemed as if no one had been absent for a long time at all; there was not a speck of dust, nor a trace of decay – it was completely different from the places they had passed through.

Prince Ferena looked at Fairy Mu Ying, “Fairy Mu Ying, what’s going on here?”

Fairy Mu Ying shook her head, unable to discern it herself.

The bedrooms of the Princess, the Queen, and the King were all inside the main castle.

They soon reached the outside of the Princess’s bedroom.

When the incident occurred, the Princess was quite young, her bedroom right next to the Queen’s, with the King’s bedroom further down the same corridor.

Upon opening the door to the Princess’s bedroom, behind a lace bed canopy, a golden-haired young girl lay quietly on the bed.

As she approached, Fairy Mu Ying couldn’t help but say, this was a beautiful girl.

Fair-skinned, with crimson lips and a hint of pink on her cheeks, her arms crossed over her chest were just the right thickness, not as frail as someone who had been bedridden for a long time; she seemed very healthy, not at all like someone who had been asleep for over a decade.

“Ahem!” Prince Ferena’s throat moved, and he glanced at Fairy Mu Ying.

“Why are you looking at me?

Kiss her!” Fairy Mu Ying looked at him perplexedly, “Wait, you’re not too embarrassed, are you?”

Prince Ferena nodded.

Fairy Mu Ying found it somewhat miraculous, “I thought the customs of the Rose Kingdom weren’t so reserved.

Don’t you have traditions of kissing the face or hand as a greeting?

Are you shy about kissing the back of a hand?”

Prince Ferena, “...”

“Is it mandatory to kiss the lips?” Seeing his face turn redder, Fairy Mu Ying asked.

Shouldn’t be, if it were necessary to kiss the lips, wouldn’t the Princess need to kiss the Queen on the lips to awaken her later?

Kissing on the lips among lovers is quite normal, but among relatives, it’s a bit strange, right?

Is this awakening method so inhumane?

If she had chosen Sleeping Beauty as her trial character initially, wouldn’t she have started the game with the risk of being taken advantage of?

Prince Ferena shook his head, sighed, and took the sleeping beauty’s hand on the bed, leaning in for a kiss.

Sleeping Beauty’s eyelashes fluttered at just the right moment, and her eyes slowly opened, revealing a pair of pale green irises.

Look at that!

The kiss was quite decisive.

By now, Mu Ying fully understood—the other party had been shy because they wanted to kiss lips!

Meeting for the first time, even as a fiancée, it wasn’t proper to do that.

This prince, like his father, had a touch of chauvinism and admired beautiful girls.

“Who are you?” The awakened Sleeping Beauty stared at Ferena, still a bit groggy.

“I am Ferena, your fiancé, and it was my kiss that woke you,” Prince Ferena said.

Sleeping Beauty withdrew her hand that Ferena was holding and hid half her face in the blanket, timidly asking, “What’s a fiancé?”

“Pfft!” Mu Ying couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Ferena must have been betrothed to Sleeping Beauty as a child, and their betrothal was simply an exchange of tokens, without having met since they were both toddlers.

When the Royal Palace was surrounded by thorns and the Royal Family began to sleep, Sleeping Beauty must have been only three or four years old at most.

Though she had grown slowly in her sleep, she appeared to be seventeen or eighteen years old, but her mental age was still that of a child.

Ferena was taken aback, not knowing quite how to explain.

Mu Ying went to the nearby wardrobe and saw that, indeed, all the clothes were for small children.

She found a dress and undergarments, which she had prepared from her own Space Ring for going out before the era of Magic Wardrobe and gave them to Sleeping Beauty.

The clothes were simple but unworn.

The ones she’d been wearing were no longer fit to wear.

“Can you dress yourself?”

Sleeping Beauty shook her head.

Mu Ying looked at Prince Ferena, “Could you step outside for a moment?”

Prince Ferena went out dejectedly.

His beautiful fiancée didn’t even know what a fiancé was, and the imagined love-at-first-sight episode didn’t happen.

“All right, he’s gone.

Let’s get dressed, and then could you give your mom a kiss?” Mu Ying said gently.

On hearing the word “mom,” Sleeping Beauty’s eyes lit up, and she threw off the blanket and got up.

Mu Ying narrowed her eyes—what a great figure!

Apart from the chest area, her size was not much different from Mu Ying’s, and the clothes fit quite well.

After putting on the clothes, Mu Ying led her out the door.

The young girl ran excitedly to the door of the Queen’s bedroom, knocked, heard no response, cautiously pushed the door open, and ran in.

Seeing the also-sleeping Queen, she charged like a small cannonball, threw her arms around her neck, and kissed her cheek, “Mommy, wake up and play with Beini!”

Ferena: “...”

Suddenly, he found the appearance of his fiancée less charming.

The Queen also woke up quickly, seeing the grown Thorn Princess without reacting at first.

Being nuzzled and nudged in her arms by such a big girl, a situation all too familiar, she tentatively asked, “Beini?”
