I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 299 - 299 295 Poaching299: Chapter 295: Poaching 299: Chapter 295: Poaching However, the Spell-like ability of the Cold Deer producing an Ice and Snow effect was strikingly similar to the current situation in Luoxia Town.

Although such a large canyon could not be covered by the ability of a single Cold Deer, now with more than twenty, nearly thirty, it was possible to have a situation where heavy snow continued all day.

Furthermore, the information about them deceiving people and rallying tribes made it hard for anyone to believe that the canyon’s heavy snow and their prophesy about covering the canyon with heavy snow were just coincidental.

Upon further reflection, apart from the Cold Deer and other Magic Beasts and wild beasts living in the snow, the dominant force in the Snow Domain was, in fact, Luoxia Town.

If this group of Cold Deer intended to develop their own forces and win over people’s hearts, secretly confronting Luoxia Town was not impossible.

“Anyone who comes here with good intentions is a friend of our Snow Mountain Guardian clan.

I hope everyone can set aside past grievances and make the Snow Domain more prosperous,” said the leading Cold Deer to the members of the Luoxia Team, “Welcome to our gathering; it’s almost time for today’s banquet.

Please join us!”

This giant deer could talk, and so politely at that, claiming to be a Snow Mountain Guardian.

Could this be the legendary Snow Mountain Guardian God?

The members of the Luoxia Team looked curiously and inquisitively at the group of giant deer.

However, the other party’s courtesy at least meant that they wouldn’t face direct aggression, which was a relief to them.

Given their size and strength, not to mention there were nearly thirty of them, the Luoxia Team was no match in either number or quality.

If they weren’t going head-on, even if it was some roundabout scheme, they would still have time to react and strategize.

And since the other party was stronger and did not use force but started with goodwill, perhaps it really was a genuine gesture.

If they were dealing with humans or humanoid creatures, they would still hesitate and suspect, but the other party was deer, making it plausible that they were innocent and pure.

The members of the Luoxia Team followed them inside.

Unfortunately, in such a public setting, Mu Ying couldn’t use the Dingling Flower to remind them.

Luckily, although the Cold Deer might not have had good intentions, at this moment their main approach was to woo, and it wasn’t yet a moment of desperate revelation; so having this meal wouldn’t hurt.

Mu Ying, floating midair, munched on snacks while watching the Cold Deer prepare the Hero Banquet.

Three Cold Deer emerged from the herd and moved to a cleared space in the middle of the camp, standing in a triangular formation at a distance, colorful light burst forth from their antlers, connecting and spreading out.

Within the spectrum of light, a dining table, fine wines, and delicious dishes appeared, filling up the entire open space.

Players at the Snow Mountain Camp cheered, but the members of the Luoxia Team were stunned.

Could one actually eat this magically conjured food?

Hearing other players boast about the special effects of these foods, they were even more astonished.

Everyone was trying their best to eat as much as possible because these foods could not be preserved and had to be consumed on the spot.

The members of the Luoxia Team were initially hesitant, but seeing other players eat without any concerns, they couldn’t hold back either.

It turned out not only were the foods edible, but they were quite delicious as well.

The more Mu Ying watched from the sky, the more she felt it was a pity; the Spell of the Cold Deer was both powerful and suitable, but their intelligence was too high, nearly akin to that of humans.

The strength was not low either, with the weakest Cold Deer being level 5 and most between levels 8-10, while the leader was at level 11.

Moreover, their ambition was not small; they were not providing food for free out of pure kindness and goodwill, but rather were looking to gather these people as their subordinates.

Just by looking at the respectful attitude of the players who had settled in the Snow Mountain Camp towards the Cold Deer, one could tell that they were not genuinely considered friends.

Although they called themselves the Snow Mountain Guardians, the players referred to them as Snow Mountain Guardian Gods — Mu Ying didn’t believe it wasn’t a deliberate guidance.

All of this proved that the Cold Deer were very valuable, but they could not be tamed.

Otherwise, if such a group of Cold Deer were raised in the territory, there really would be no need to till the land at all.

After the Hero Banquet, the players took advantage of their good state and went hunting with specially made animal traps.

This animal trap was taught by the Cold Deer; it greatly increased the success rate of capturing Snow Beasts, and with the Cold Deer leading them to the Snow Beast’s activity areas, there was never a time they returned empty-handed.

Li Luoxia and her team toured the camp and found that, aside from the absence of shops and not-so-abundant supplies, there were no other shortcomings.

Those who were originally weak and struggled to survive in the apocalypse, having difficulty even with food and shelter, could live here without spending money, thus significantly lowering their living costs.

The Cold Deer also personally taught them some hunting and weapon creation skills.

Add to that the Cold Deer’s strong power that could guarantee the safety of the camp, and this place indeed had more appeal than Luoxia Town.

Subsequently, the Luoxia Team went to inquire about the Prophecy from the Cold Deer leader.

“The Prophecy says that the gorge will ultimately be buried under heavy snow and is no longer suitable for habitation.

You all should find alternatives sooner rather than later,” said the Cold Deer leader.

“You are the Snow Mountain Guardian Gods, do you have a way to stop the blizzard?” Li Luoxia clung to her last hope.

Being called gods, and with that kind of spell that could magically produce food, they must be very powerful, right?

The Cold Deer leader shook his head, “We are just the guardians of Snow Mountain, guarding this cold region is our duty, but we cannot change its will.

If it decides to fill the valleys and spread the snow domain, we can’t stop it.

We can only guide people away from the snow through the Prophecy.

Give up, the Snow Mountain Camp will always welcome you.

Besides, we need capable people to help us manage the camp.

We only listen to the will of Snow Mountain and are not good at managing human tribes.

You are very suitable.”

This intent to undermine was too obvious, and moreover, they were digging right at their opponents.

The more Mu Ying listened, the more she believed that the heavy snow in the gorge was related to them.

Under her Eye of Nature, she indeed saw a faint black aura on the Cold Deer, rare for any creature to completely lack natural power.

They were clearly not Undead Creatures.

Having such an aura could only be proof of having damaged the natural environment.

“Thank you for your hospitality, we will consider it!” said Li Luoxia.

Even if it came to the point where they had to give up their territory, the Snow Mountain Camp would not be their choice.

Xi He was a Druid; growing up in such a place was too difficult, and the managers of the Snow Mountain Camp were likely just puppets of the Snow Mountain Guardian Gods.

Their team members all had great potential; compared to being controlled by others, it was more beneficial for their growth to develop in the free and prosperous Qingshan Town.

But of course, this was not something to be said just yet.

Even though they had a backup plan, who would want to give up a territory they had managed for so long?

They did not stay long in the Snow Mountain Camp, and after bidding farewell to the Snow Mountain Guardian Gods, they left that same day.
