God's Imitator

He Xiaojun hadn’t served as a spectator in the previous round, so he wasn’t clear about the actual win rate of ’Sage’ players who adopted this rule.

But from the current situation, the win rate should be quite considerable.

After all, only after seeing high win rate results would these players choose to uniformly adopt it, even making it mainstream during this period.

Suddenly, He Xiaojun noticed something. He hurriedly came to one of the screens and initiated a vote.

Other players were currently lowering their heads thinking about strategies. After looking up at He Xiaojun, they indifferently raised cards to agree.

The reason He Xiaojun wanted to vote to hear the situation in this room was because the ’Sage’ in this room had also adopted the ’Number Bomb’ rule designed by ’↑Wheel of Fortune’ earlier.

And the player battling against him happened to be ’↓Hermit,’ who as a spectator had seen the entire process earlier.

Although He Xiaojun was just a spectator, he couldn’t help but feel anxious at this moment.

”Can he win?

”Our ’Reversed’ camp has been behind up to now, whether in battle record or in proposing rules, we’re behind the other side.”Shouldn’t some relatively strong player stand up now?”

...

In the room, ’↓Hermit’ had already finished reading the rules and looked at his opponent.

It was the upright ’The Sun.’

The rules he gave were almost completely identical to the rules given by ’↑Wheel of Fortune’ earlier, just with some differences in wording and details, but not affecting gameplay.

’↓Hermit’ considered for a moment and asked, ”If you were to choose a playing card, which one would you choose?”

’↑The Sun’ was stunned for a moment but still quickly said, ”King of Hearts.”

’↓Hermit’ didn’t continue this topic. Obviously, he hadn’t gotten the answer he wanted.

”I choose the second option, playing according to your rules.

”But before that, I want to say that actually this ’Number Bomb’ ruleset is just a simple rule applicable to the early game.

”Because the ’Thief’ side actually has a guessing method with the highest chance of winning.

”Although it can’t ensure certain victory, no matter what number you set it to, my chances of winning are greater than yours.

”This is a not-too-complex algorithmic problem.

”Now, the choice is yours: you can choose not to block the sound in the room. That way, my method of guessing numbers will be heard by all spectators. Some of them will naturally be inspired by this and change their strategies accordingly;

”Or you can block the sound in the room.

”It doesn’t matter to me. It mainly depends on you.”

’↑The Sun’ was stunned. Obviously, ’↓Hermit’s’ tone was very confident, making him feel anxious.

After considering for a moment, ’↑The Sun’ nodded, ”Alright, I choose to block the sound.”

Although he felt that ’↓Hermit’ had an element of bluffing, he didn’t dare to gamble.

If such an algorithm really existed that could ensure a greatly increased win rate for the ’Thief’ side, then the spectators would quickly popularize this algorithm.

Although spectators couldn’t communicate with each other, they would definitely use this method to continue cracking more ’Number Bomb’ rooms in subsequent games, which would be seen by more spectators, thus within one or two rounds, making the secrets of this ruleset completely exposed.

But if the sound was blocked, ’↓Hermit’ would have no way to pass this method to other players. Then players including ’↑The Sun’ might still be able to continue earning Wealth Vouchers for two or three more rounds through the ’Number Bomb’ rules.

Of course, for the ’↓Hermit’ player, doing this also had benefits.

If his perfect solution wasn’t heard by other spectators, he could naturally enjoy it exclusively for a period of time.

Players who encountered ’↓Hermit’ afterwards might still suffer, but for ’↑The Sun’ it didn’t matter because according to the game’s matching mechanism, he definitely wouldn’t encounter ’↓Hermit’ again during the free matching phase.

So blocking the sound in the room conformed to the mutual interests of both sides.

[Spectators can no longer hear the sound from the current room.]

’↓Hermit’ didn’t immediately start the game but suddenly asked, ”’↑Wheel of Fortune’ gave you two numbers, right?”

’↑The Sun’ was obviously stunned. Although wearing a mask, one could still feel he was somewhat confused at this moment.

Because this statement was very sudden and somewhat unexpected for him.

But before he could answer, ’↓Hermit’ had already obtained the information he wanted and officially started the game.

”I choose box number 19, ’The Sun.’”

’↑The Sun’ was stunned for a moment because this happened to be his mask, but he still quickly reacted and shook his head, ”The special number is smaller than it.”

’↓Hermit’ didn’t care and continued, ”For the second box, I choose number 17, ’The Star.’”

’↑The Sun’ looked like he had obviously breathed a sigh of relief, ”The special number is smaller than it.”

At the start, ’↓Hermit’s’ bluffing tactics made him somewhat nervous, afraid that he would guess the correct number as soon as he opened his mouth.

Although that possibility was somewhat absurd, anything could happen in this game.

However, after two consecutive number guesses that were both wrong and still had some distance from the number ’↑The Sun’ actually set, his heart gradually settled.

Currently, the remaining number range was ’1~16 (inclusive).’ For ’↓Hermit’ to guess correctly on the third attempt was almost impossible.

And once past the third attempt, he would enter the ’high mortality zone’ of the ’4th, 5th, 6th’ attempts.

In the previous round, ’↑The Sun’ had attempted to copy this ’Number Bomb’ gameplay for the first time and initially tasted success. The opponent had also just died on the fifth attempt.

From his experience, players guessing numbers would most likely have no numbers left to guess on the ’4th, 5th, 6th’ attempts. This was also the most deceptive aspect of this gameplay.

The ’Thief’ side wins by ”guessing on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th attempts,” while the ’Sage’ side wins by ”guessing on the 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th or more attempts.”

The possibility of guessing numbers more than 8 times was very low and could almost be ignored, so at first glance the rules seemed very fair.

But the actual win rates had a big difference.

’↑The Sun’ couldn’t articulate the specific principle, but from a practical perspective, that was how it was.

’↓Hermit’ paused slightly and continued, ”For the third number, I guess 16, ’The Tower.’”

’↑The Sun’ was silent for a moment, ”The special number is smaller than it.”

At this point, he realized the situation seemed different from before.

In the previous round, when the ’Thief’ player guessed to the 4th, 5th, 6th attempts, the range of selectable numbers had been rapidly shrinking, so that even if adopting a ’hugging the edge’ strategy to guess slowly, they would still step on a mine.

But this time, ’↓Hermit’s’ strategy was indeed somewhat special. The current number range was still in the state of ’1~15 (inclusive).’
