God's Imitator

Currently, He Xiaojun had already looked at 10 boxes. The Wealth Voucher values that had appeared were three types: 200, 2,000, and 20,000. Among them, 200 was an extremely rare case, appearing only twice. The other boxes were all 2,000 and 20,000.

But according to He Xiaojun’s estimation, there must still be a 200,000 box among these 22 boxes.

’↑The Empress’ wanted to hide this 200,000 box until the end.

And from the current rules, hiding it was also very easy: as long as He Xiaojun didn’t directly select this 200,000 box the first time, ’↑The Empress’ just needed to not actively point it out.

”So if I want to find this 200,000 box, there are two possibilities, but both can only be hoped for at the end.”

He Xiaojun looked at the current boxes. Those boxes that had already been selected were all opened. The Wealth Vouchers inside were either on the ’Thief’s’ side or the ’Sage’s’ side. These couldn’t be selected again.

And those boxes that hadn’t been opened were becoming fewer and fewer.

However, assuming there was a ’200,000 box,’ then by the last two opportunities, the probability of selecting it would greatly increase.

It might be directly selected, or it might be that after selecting a ’20,000 box,’ since ’2,000 boxes’ no longer existed, ’↑The Empress’ would have to point to that ’200,000 box.’

”As long as I get that 200,000 box, I should be able to win!”He Xiaojun was very eager to obtain this win, so after consideration, he made another choice, ”Box number 5 ’The Hierophant.’”

After opening it, he found it was again 2,000 Wealth Vouchers.

’↑The Empress’ pointed, ”Its ’Mother-Daughter Box’ is number 17 ’The Star.’”

He Xiaojun decisively said, ”Switch.”

However, upon opening it, it was again 200 Wealth Vouchers.

But He Xiaojun wasn’t particularly dejected because as the boxes with 200 and 2,000 Wealth Vouchers were continuously opened, it meant that the 200,000 box was very close to him.

However, even until the last box switch, he didn’t find it.

He Xiaojun was stunned, ”How can this be? Don’t tell me it’s just in those two boxes I didn’t choose?”

[In this round, the ’Thief’ stole wealth from a total of 10 wooden boxes, totaling 79,600 Wealth Vouchers.]

[’Sage’ has 140,800 Wealth Vouchers remaining.]

[Please both parties leave the game room and wait for the next round to begin.]

Seeing this result, He Xiaojun understood. Actually, that ’200,000 box’ didn’t exist among these boxes at all.

Returning to the rest room, He Xiaojun frowned and thought about this match.

”So this was a defensive strategy... Then it seems the opponent should be like me, a relatively weak player, using this method to secure wins and ensure not giving too many Wealth Vouchers to hostile communities.

”But since they’re a relatively weak player, why could they come up with such a strategy in such a short time? This doesn’t make scientific sense at all!

”But looking at it now, ’↑The Empress’ seems to come from a relatively strong community, most likely one of the four Core Communities. Although their players can’t communicate with each other, they’ve obviously adopted some kind of cooperative strategy.

”That is, relatively strong players try as much as possible to maximize returns, carrying the maximum Wealth Vouchers in every round; while those relatively weak players have securing wins as their primary goal, adopting defensive strategies, not carrying too many Wealth Vouchers to avoid having too much earned by other communities.

”This way, both types of players can each perform their duties...

”If this is really the case, it’s completely different from our community’s style. I haven’t been able to tell which players are from the same community so far, let alone any coordination between them.

”Comparatively, ’↑The Empress’s’ strategy is more suitable for players like me to copy.

”His thinking is actually very simple. He didn’t really make any special traps or tricks. The main thing is dividing the Wealth Voucher values into three categories, with 2,000 and 20,000 Wealth Vouchers accounting for the majority, and an extremely small number of 200 Wealth Vouchers.

”After the game starts, when pointing out the ’Mother-Daughter Box,’ he won’t deliberately point to boxes with smaller amounts. Just leaving the internal conflict to the ’Thief’ player.

”Although the specific principle isn’t clear, from ’↑The Empress’s’ strategic arrangement, for the ’Thief,’ whether to switch or not should make little difference.

”That’s why he specifically added a rule to earn a fixed 10% commission after switching boxes. This way, the expected return for the ’Sage’ side is always positive...

”In that case, I should actually be able to copy this strategy when serving as ’Sage.’ Just the name ’Mother-Daughter Boxes’ is a bit strange, right? Wouldn’t calling them ’Associated Boxes’ or something be more appropriate?

”Damn it, why is it that no matter what strategy it is, I can only understand after stepping on the trap...”

A new round of the game began. He Xiaojun looked and saw that his identity this time was ’Spectator.’

”Using this opportunity, I’ll carefully observe the current situation. Players’ strategies are updating every moment. Strategies that worked before might not work anymore. I need to think it over carefully.

”Next round as ’Sage,’ I must win...”

He Xiaojun came to the spectator room again and looked around.

Compared to when he came last time, the room had obviously changed to a different batch of people.

After all, all players were rotating among three identities, and the order was completely scrambled.

Precisely because of this, He Xiaojun saw some players he had previously seen on the screen.

For example, ’↓Hanged Man.’

In the game before last, he had just narrowly missed 11 million Wealth Vouchers. Although wearing a mask, one could still see he was somewhat defeated, randomly finding a corner seat and lowering his head in thought.

A moment later, He Xiaojun looked toward the screens in the spectator room and found that the number of rooms using the ’Number Bomb’ rule had obviously increased.

At least five or six rooms were all using ’↑Wheel of Fortune’s’ ruleset, just with similarities and differences in wording and details.

One of the core rules, that is, the ’Thief’ player must guess the number on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, or 8th attempt, was uniformly adopted by all rooms without any changes.

Obviously, all the ’Sage’ players who adopted this rule also saw that this was the core secret of ’Number Bomb.’ Changing this rule might very likely trigger some fatal loopholes, causing them to become clowns imitating poorly and giving away huge Wealth Vouchers for free.

As for the ’Thief’ players battling against them, their choices varied.

Some relatively conservative players directly chose to give up the challenge and use the first strategy to directly take away 10 wooden boxes.

However, this way, the ’Sage’ player could retain 12 boxes, stably ensuring an additional 1 million Wealth Voucher income.

But there were also some ’Thief’ players who didn’t believe in superstition and chose to challenge.
