God's Imitator

The voice of Spectator 9 came through the broadcast.

”I believe most spectators should have already noticed that although the game didn’t directly reveal the crimes of these outer field players, it has given enough ’reflections.’

”The ’exclusive punishments’ corresponding to the six rooms, five different types of equipment, respectively correspond to the professions and crimes of the outer field players.

”Liu Jie’s exclusive punishment was ’Information.’ After entering the room, players would learn a hidden rule about the game, but not only could they not reveal it, they had to deliberately deceive and mislead players who didn’t enter the room.

”And this information itself was related to the ’Modification Shop’ equipment in the game.

”As for what the ’Modification Shop’ and ’car pen’ reflect, that’s actually quite clear.

”When the outer field players took turns serving as ’Sharers,’ the system rewards provided six different sentences, and when these six sentences were combined and the order slightly adjusted, they formed a small fable story.”

Yang Yuting had naturally noticed this point as well. Although these sentences had been scrambled, as long as one could remember the general meaning, sorting them wasn’t difficult.

…

In a world with only drivers and cars, drivers didn’t need training or driver’s licenses; they were all self-taught.Many drivers drove as they pleased. Cars naturally had good performance and weren’t affected by crashes or rollovers.

Sometimes, cars suddenly wouldn’t obey, suddenly stalled, brakes failed, accelerator wouldn’t accelerate.

The driver took a hammer and tapped at it themselves. Sometimes it got better, and sometimes it broke more completely.

Some drivers said that after sending their cars to a modification shop, they had no problems afterward.

On an ordinary day, a certain driver drove away in their car, the car exploded, and the driver died too.

…

Spectator 9 continued, ”Simply put, the ’loss of control’ of the car pen represents children behaving in ways that don’t meet their parents’ expectations.

”And the five types of equipment used to modify the car pen should respectively correspond to different methods.

”The ’Modification Shop’ caused the most damage to the car pen, possibly even directly leading to shattering. Combined with the description in the fable, I guess it should symbolize places like ’Internet Addiction Treatment Centers.’

”So, among the five types of equipment, the equipment corresponding to the ’Information’ punishment should be the ’TV Station.’ Its function is to provide bonuses and discounts for another type of equipment, encouraging inner field players to use it more.

”Therefore, I believe Liu Mingxin’s profession in reality should be related to media work. When reporting on ’Internet Addiction Treatment Centers’ or similar institutions, she knew the truth but still deliberately made false reports, seriously misleading the public.”

After Spectator 9 finished speaking, the lounge where Yang Yuting was located temporarily quieted down.

As the first player to make an accusation, Spectator 9 was essentially the first to try something new, since no one currently knew exactly how accurate the information needed to be for an ’accusation to be established.’

But one thing was certain, his speech also somewhat served the purpose of stirring things up.

Because according to the game rules, he only needed to state the crime. There was no need for comprehensive explanation and reasoning.

But he still did, clearly to provide additional information for spectators making accusations afterward, allowing those hesitant spectators to cross-verify information and make up their minds.

[Spectator 9’s accusation is established.]

[Now, please all spectators conduct a public trial vote to determine ’guilty’ or ’not guilty.’]

[The standard for ’guilty’ judgment is ’crime is conclusive, intent is clear.’ The standard for ’not guilty’ judgment is ’circumstances beyond control, excusable circumstances.’]

[Voting overtime or casting a vote against one’s conscience will result in a deduction of 20,000 minutes of visa time.]

Hearing that the punishment for voting against one’s conscience was a deduction of visa time, Yang Yuting relaxed slightly.

This meant that even if Zhou Guifen and Fu Yujun were successfully accused, she and Li Renshu could at least force a ’not guilty’ vote.

After all outer field players were judged, the two players with the most ’guilty’ votes would suffer instant death punishment. One less vote might mean the difference between life and death.

After considering for a moment, Yang Yuting still pressed ’guilty.’

[Voting concluded. Liu Mingxin received 15 ’guilty’ votes.]

[The second ’public trial’ player, Zhou Guifen.]

”As expected, the public trial is being conducted in reverse order of when the inner field players completed the ’Track in the picture.’

”Which means the ’Track in the picture’ symbolizes the children’s achievements in reality? And the results on this track also represent the success or failure of parents ’supporting their children.’

”Failed parents will be publicly tried first.”

Yang Yuting naturally wouldn’t accuse Zhou Guifen. She hoped that no one would accuse her, so nothing would happen but her hopes were dashed.

Just as the countdown was about to end, a player still chose to accuse.

[Spectator 2 has filed an accusation against Zhou Guifen.]

”Shen Xing’s exclusive punishment was ’Blocking,’ which means prohibition from using a certain type of equipment.

”However, this punishment isn’t severe.

”I once encountered Zhou Guifen in another game. She should have a profession similar to an arts teacher.

”And when serving as a ’Sharer,’ she once mentioned that Shen Xing had wanted to learn music from her and become an arts student. But she very firmly refused.

”So I guess Zhou Guifen’s crime is that she didn’t support, and could even be said to have stifled her child’s interests, forcing them to continue on the traditional path of exams and further education.

”If she treated her own child this way, she probably treated other children at school the same way.

”As for whether this counts as guilty, I’ll leave it to everyone to vote.”

A moment later, the broadcast sounded again.

[Spectator 2’s accusation is established.]

[Now, please all spectators conduct a public trial vote to determine ’guilty’ or ’not guilty.’]

Yang Yuting pressed ’not guilty’ without hesitation and didn’t trigger the conscience violation punishment.

Because she was very clear that Zhou Guifen was just an ordinary teacher in a small county town and simply didn’t have the resources to cultivate Shen Xing’s music studies.

Moreover, given that family’s conditions and environment, the prospects for music arts students were indeed much narrower than the traditional exam and further education route.

Although Zhou Guifen herself often felt regret, Yang Yuting believed this met the standard of ’circumstances beyond control, excusable circumstances.’

[Voting concluded. Zhou Guifen received 7 ’guilty’ votes.]

[The third ’public trial’ player, Fu Yujun.]

Seeing this result, Yang Yuting breathed a sigh of relief.

The vote count was relatively low, which was relatively safe.

But absolute safety couldn’t be guaranteed. If none of the subsequent outer field players were accused, Zhou Guifen would still suffer instant death punishment.

Yang Yuting similarly hoped that no players would accuse Fu Yujun, but unfortunately, more than one spectator’s small screen lit up with an effect.

[Spectator 11 has filed an accusation against Fu Yujun.]

After a brief pause, another broadcast sounded.

[Spectator 17 has filed an accusation against Fu Yujun.]

[Spectator 4 has filed an accusation against Fu Yujun.]

Yang Yuting was stunned, ”So many people accusing? Wait, Spectator 17, isn’t that Li Renshu? I remember she bet on Fu Chen and Shen Xing very early on like me. Why would she accuse Fu Yujun?

”Or did I get it wrong? Is Spectator 17 someone else?”
