God's Imitator

The next morning.

After breakfast, Wei Yinzhang, as usual, shared the game invitation information with everyone.

Since the deadline for the first phase’s design proposal was tonight at 8 PM, Wei Yinzhang couldn’t yet see the ’Basic Confrontation Rules for the Minimal Unit’ for this game. Of course, even if she could see it, she didn’t plan to share it directly.

Because that would be equivalent to directly revealing the questions, which was a very sensitive and dangerous behavior.

Apart from that, regarding the other content in this invitation, she could still reveal a portion of it.

Wei Yinzhang said, ”This game design is divided into three different modules, which are the game’s basic gameplay, matching mechanism, and reward mode.

”I plan to attempt to design the second module, which is the ’matching mechanism.’”

Yang Yuting was somewhat curious, ”Hmm? Why choose the second module?

”Although you are indeed better at designing this part, and you did have a successful precedent in the ’Fool’s Game,’ this part should have the smallest impact on the overall game, right?

”The first part is the game’s basic gameplay. Designing this part means the God’s Imitator can choose the rules they’re best at, which is equivalent to directly mastering the game’s optimal solution. No matter what the subsequent matching mechanism or reward and punishment mechanism specifically is, they can almost remain invincible in the game.”The third part is the reward and punishment mechanism, which can directly determine the game’s mortality rate and punishments. And most critically, they can see the designs of the first two parts, meaning they have access to the most information.

”Both seem more advantageous than the second part, right?”

Other players had similar questions.

Wei Yinzhang nodded, ”Yes, that’s true, but here’s how I’m thinking about it:

”First, I am indeed better at this type of rule, and I can use the successful experience from the previous ’Fool’s Game.’

”Second, regarding God’s Imitators competing for these module designs, precisely because the first and third parts have greater influence on the game, the competition will definitely be most fierce. Choosing the second module gives a higher probability of being selected.

”But these aren’t the most important reasons.

”I’m choosing the second module mainly because I hope to help Auntie Zhou and Shen Xing reunite as soon as possible.”

Everyone was stunned for a moment, ”Hmm?”

Li Renshu quickly understood, ”Indeed, the second module is the ’matching mechanism,’ which means it can determine specifically which players enter the game.

”However, can we ensure that Community 5 definitely enters the same game as us?”

Wei Yinzhang shook her head, ”I’m not certain either, which is why I said we can try.

”Based on previous game invitations, God’s Imitators can generally only design ’player selection rules within communities,’ but which specific communities are matched together to play the game is not something God’s Imitators can decide.

”But as time has passed, many of the Gallery’s rules have loosened, so this one might not be completely unchangeable either.

”In this game invitation, the Gallery said it might delete or modify certain rules, so I plan to probe a little when designing the rules. If it succeeds, that would naturally be best. If it doesn’t succeed, at worst it’ll be deleted by the Gallery, which won’t be a big problem.

”Additionally, when designing player selection rules within the community, I’ll minimize the corresponding restrictions as much as possible to ensure that each community has a relatively large number of players entering, and that the strong players within the community can enter as much as possible.

”The ultimate goal is to help Auntie Zhou successfully bring Shen Xing over.

”However, there’s one thing that’s rather troublesome, and everyone should be mentally prepared:

”In this game’s available props list, there’s a clear requirement to use masks and costume dresses, which means that no matter which God’s Imitator’s design is adopted, this game will be like the ’Fool’s Game,’ where everyone wears masks and costume dresses and plays in an anonymous state.

”Fortunately, we’ve already made contingency plans for this. Everyone remember to review the previous materials carefully over the next couple of days.”

Zhou Guifen was very moved, ”Thank you all! I really don’t know what to say...”

Li Renshu comforted her, ”It’s okay, Auntie Zhou. We’re all in the same community, this is what we should be doing anyway.

”However, I’m worried about one thing. This game is a screening type game, which inherently has a certain mortality rate.

”And since Yinzhang can’t design the final ’Reward and Punishment Rules’ phase, there’s still a considerable risk of death in the game.”

Zhou Guifen waved her hand, ”There’s no helping it, but this is already the best opportunity.

”If we can’t bring Shen Xing over this time, then who knows when we’ll encounter her again. If she stays in Community 5 by herself, she’ll have to experience many more life-and-death games, which worries me even more.

”No matter what, I want to grasp this opportunity as much as possible.”

Wei Yinzhang added, ”That’s exactly why I said that when designing the ’screening rules,’ I’ll include both Auntie Zhou and Shen Xing in the screening list as much as possible, while also allowing as many strong players from the community to enter as possible.

”Because this game must be played in costume, Auntie Zhou must personally enter the game to have a chance of finding Shen Xing among the many players.

”And considering the danger of the game, we still need more strong players to enter to ensure everyone’s safety.”

Everyone looked toward Lin Sizhi, Wang Yongxin, and the others.

Lin Sizhi nodded, ”If the rules allow it, I will enter.”

Wang Yongxin, Cai Zhiyuan, and Yang Yuting also said one after another, ”Yes, we’ll also strive to enter.”

This put everyone’s minds at ease considerably.

If all the strong players from Community 17 mobilized, then no matter how complex or dangerous the game rules were, everyone was confident they could win.

As Zhou Guifen said, if they wanted to bring Shen Xing back, this should be the best opportunity. Once they missed it, who knew when they might encounter her again, and then Shen Xing might face danger in subsequent games that would be difficult to handle.

Li Renshu considered for a moment and said, ”However... this brings up a problem.

”If the matching mechanism allows the strong players from our community to enter, then the other communities will definitely also send out the strongest players from their communities.

”The overall difficulty of the game will be significantly raised.

”Moreover, if the matching mechanism is too biased toward us, causing the strength between communities to be unbalanced no matter how players are selected, will the Gallery reject your design because of this, or modify the design?

”These are all uncertain matters.”

Wei Yinzhang nodded, ”Yes, regarding this point, I’ll consider it carefully.

”Overall, I’ll still try as much as possible to construct a framework in the rules that’s fair to any player. Players from our community won’t necessarily gain extra advantages after entering. But this way, the possibility of it being adopted is higher.”

Wang Yongxin expressed agreement, ”As long as it’s a fair framework, that’s fine.”

The implication was that given Community 17’s comprehensive strength, under a fair framework they shouldn’t lose to any other opponents.

Everyone dispersed and began to wait.
