God's Imitator

The discussion about this new mechanism came to a temporary end.

Since Wei Yinzhang hadn’t seen the specific conditions for this mechanism to take effect, the current discussion was basically all speculation, and they couldn’t reach any particularly definite conclusions for now.

Since that was the case, there was no point in discussing it too deeply. They might instead fall into misconceptions due to overthinking.

Li Renshu continued, ”Let’s continue with the regular review then.

”There are still quite a few questionable points in the design and rules of this game.”

Zheng Jie was the first to raise his hand, ”Actually, I wanted to ask before, why was there a phase of pulling the pull ring before the inner field players started?

”They said it would give funds, but each person only got a little over a thousand points. That’s way too little.

”If this phase was cancelled, wouldn’t it have no real impact?”

Lin Sizhi shook his head, ”Of course it still has an impact.

”First, this phase can level out the physical strength differences among inner field players as much as possible.”Because there are both male and female inner field players, players with better physical strength would have an extra advantage. Having everyone share the pulling force of the mechanism until exhaustion can relatively ensure the fairness of the ’Track in the picture’ and will further increase the difficulty of the game.

”Second, the initial provision of a little over a thousand points in funds, and deliberately restricting outer field players from immediately providing funds in the first round, are both to make inner field players choose first.

”Simply put, it’s to ’let outer field players see.’

”Because inner field players only have one chance, they’ll observe the appearance of the mechanism and make their choice. Whether outer field players notice this information will also determine the subsequent strategy for outer field players to send funds.

”Finally, it has some metaphorical nature.

”After all, this is a judgment-type game. Because there’s a ’public trial’ phase at the end, players guessing specific crimes through metaphors in the game is also part of the game content.

”Inner field players can only earn a little over a thousand points in funds even with all their effort, while outer field players can continuously provide large amounts of funds, just like in reality, children’s efforts are certainly important, but parents’ support is the deciding factor.”

Zheng Jie asked again, ”Then if a player deliberately slacks off at the very beginning, wouldn’t they perfectly exploit a loophole?”

Lin Sizhi thought about it, ”Mm, slacking off at the beginning is indeed a kind of strategy, but it also has hidden dangers.”

He looked at the three players who had participated in the game, ”Did you notice whether the inner field players made any motions like ’hands hurt’ or ’hands injured’ after finally letting go?”

The three looked at each other. Yang Yuting and Li Renshu both shook their heads.

Zhou Guifen said, ”Yes, I was always paying attention to Shen Xing. After letting go of the pull ring, she was indeed observing her palms. The skin should have broken.”

Lin Sizhi explained, ”Mm, that’s right.

”To increase friction, the pull ring should have knurling added like dumbbells and barbells in reality.

”But when players grip forcefully, especially when letting go, it’s easy to cause abrasions at the joints.

”If someone slacks off, they definitely won’t have such abrasions.

”From the subsequent game content, inner field players needed to cooperate and share as much as possible to successfully pass the ’punishments.’

”The more players who cooperate, the safer it is. If cooperation couldn’t be achieved, both Jiao Hai and Fu Chen’s exclusive punishments had a high probability of resulting in death.

”Shen Xing’s exclusive punishment ’Lockdown’ would also bring great danger.

”In this game, cooperation among inner field players seemed to be achieved very smoothly, but this was mainly because of Fu Chen’s presence.

”If he hadn’t taken the lead from the beginning and actively chosen to endure the punishment last, this cooperation might have failed.

”After all, there were relatively selfish players like Jiao Hai in the game.

”So when players decide whether to cooperate, abrasions on their hands are an important criterion for identification.

”If there are abrasions, it means they didn’t slack off in the previous phase and are relatively honest. Regardless of whether they regret it afterward, at least their judgment at the time is enough to demonstrate this point.

”If there are no abrasions, it means they had planned from the beginning to cheat and slack off. The possibility of them keeping their promises later is also very low. They’re not worthy cooperation partners.”

Li Renshu added, ”One point is crucial: If Fu Chen hadn’t consistently and tirelessly advocated for cooperation, his exclusive punishment would have been the most dangerous, resulting in death or disability.

”Precisely because Fu Chen never calculated losses and cooperated with other players to the greatest extent possible, Chen Ran was willing to help share his burden in the end.”

Qin Yao said with some emotion, ”Put this way, the first player to enter the room and endure the exclusive punishment was quite unlucky.

”If Fu Chen had realized from the beginning that ’multiple people can enter the room’ and gone together to help Chen Ran, it would have been more perfect.”

Wang Yongxin was silent for a moment, ”But in that case, I would have to suspect he’s a God’s Imitator.

”Because the game rules deliberately made ambiguous descriptions.

”They neither said ’multiple people can enter the room’ nor said ’multiple people cannot enter.’ Moreover, at the beginning, the room was in a pitch-black state. After players entered, shortly after, the door closed, and only then could they see the specific furnishings and game rules.

”With Fu Chen’s sensitivity to text and gaming intelligence, if he had realized this at the first moment, it would have been too abnormal.”

Qin Yao thought about it, ”Ah, that’s true.”

This point made quite a few people in the community breathe a sigh of relief.

The hypothesis that ’Fu Chen might be a God’s Imitator’ was too terrifying. If it were actually true, it might completely shatter the mutual trust within the entire community.

Now, Fu Chen, as a kind, sincere, and helpful player, had successfully left the New World and returned to reality. The symbolic significance of this matter had far exceeded its practical significance.

In any case, it left everyone with a beautiful hope.

Qin Yao sighed, ”It’s just a bit regrettable that things happened too suddenly, there was no time to say goodbye.

”If before he left, everyone could have gathered for a meal and given him a proper send-off, that would have been nice.”

Zheng Jie suddenly realized something, ”Right, since Fu Chen’s dad is in Community 10, can we find a way to bring him over later?

”Our community currently lacks exactly two players, one male and one female.

”Adding Fu Chen’s dad and Auntie Zhou’s daughter Shen Xing would exactly fill the numbers.”

This suggestion was quite sudden. Clearly, Zheng Jie had said it as soon as he thought of it.

But Cai Zhiyuan considered for a moment and shook his head, ”I think it’s better not to.

”I understand that everyone likes and misses Fu Chen very much. Players like him are too rare in the New World, so everyone will subconsciously project this affection onto his father.

”Because Fu Chen is such a person, Fu Yujun educated Fu Chen well, and his performance in the game was also good, so Fu Yujun is also such a person. This seems like a very correct logical chain, but precisely because it seems correct, it’s dangerous.

”Fu Yujun is not Fu Chen. He’s much more complex. When Li Renshu made her accusation, she actually used subtle language to beautify him quite a bit. In reality, with just a change in wording, he would also have been certain to die.

”So regarding Fu Chen, everyone should just remember him as a spiritual symbol in your hearts. Never project this symbol onto other people, and don’t try to find a role that can replace Fu Chen.

”Otherwise, it’s very likely to cause problems.”
