God's Imitator

Three days later, morning.

A broadcast notification for a new game appeared on the large screen.

[Good morning, players!]

[The Gallery will open in one hour.]

[The name of this game is ’Tarot Game,’ and the game objectives are ’Player Screening’ and ’Community Confrontation.’]

[Players in this game will come from 8 different communities, totaling 44 players.]

[The 8 communities will be divided into 4 ’Core Communities’ and 4 ’Peripheral Communities’ based on their performance in previous games, and these two types of communities will have subtle differences in their in-game rules.]

[The 4 communities that have accumulated the most visa time will default to becoming ’Core Communities.’]

[Each ’Core Community’ can select one community to become a ’Peripheral Community.’]

[The number of players who can participate from ’Core Communities’ is: 6 people.][The number of players who can participate from ’Peripheral Communities’ is: 5 people.]

[Players who have ’kinship relationships’ with other players in the New World will be forced to participate, and other slots will be open for voluntary registration.]

[Players from this community forced to participate: Zhou Guifen]

[The other 5 voluntary participation slots will be randomly selected from all registered players.]

[Community 17 has been selected as a ’Core Community,’ please select one community to become a ’Peripheral Community,’ otherwise one will be randomly selected.]

Everyone naturally had no hesitation, ”Community 5.”

[Selection valid.]

[Community 5 will participate in this game as a ’Peripheral Community.’]

[The game is about to begin, please prepare yourselves, players!]

A countdown to the game’s start appeared on the large screen.

Since it was a screening type game, there was a default one-hour preparation time, which was relatively ample.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. So far, everything was proceeding according to plan.

Over the past two days, while Wei Yinzhang had been designing the game rules, she had also been synchronizing information with the other players.

On the evening of the second day after the game design invitation was sent out, the Gallery had already adopted Lin Sizhi’s proposal, so Wei Yinzhang as a God’s Imitator could also see the relevant rules.

She couldn’t directly tell these rules to the players in the community.

However, after seeing the rules, Wei Yinzhang felt much more at ease and simply hinted to the other players that the rules this time were relatively friendly to Community 17, and there was no need to worry too much.

After that, Wei Yinzhang repeatedly modified parts of her own rules, trying to eliminate any rules that might cause it to fail review, and was ultimately selected.

Of course, she didn’t reveal the details of these rules either.

But from the current game invitation, everyone’s initial objectives had basically been achieved.

Li Renshu looked at everyone, ”Now we just need to finalize who will participate in the game.

”Auntie Zhou definitely has to enter, and then there are 5 voluntary participation slots.

”Lawyer Lin, Brother Wang, Yang Yuting, and Cai Zhiyuan have all previously expressed their willingness to enter the game. That leaves one more slot. Does anyone else have any thoughts?”

After considering for a moment, Wei Yinzhang said, ”I’d also like to participate in this game.”

This surprised Li Renshu slightly, ”Hmm? If you’re willing to participate, that would naturally be best. This would be equivalent to Community 17’s strongest lineup. However, this is a screening type game, and we currently don’t know exactly what the mortality rate is. Have you thought this through?”

As a God’s Imitator, Wei Yinzhang only knew the rules for the first two modules, but the ’Reward and Punishment Mechanism’ was designed by another God’s Imitator, which she didn’t know about.

If that God’s Imitator had designed an extremely high mortality rate, then this game would also be very dangerous.

As the openly known God’s Imitator in the community, even if Wei Yinzhang didn’t participate in any games, she could continuously obtain visa time through the God’s Imitator’s income and wouldn’t face deportation due to time running out.

So, her voluntary participation in such a screening type game still carried certain risks.

Wei Yinzhang nodded and explained, ”I’m naturally aware of that.

”Here’s what I’m thinking:

”First, I’ve already seen the basic rules of this game, and I’ve also designed the game’s matching rules myself. In these two parts, I’m still fairly confident.

”Even if there are risks, I believe they’re relatively controllable.

”Second, although as a God’s Imitator I can gain income without entering games, constantly hiding in the community isn’t necessarily a good choice either.

”This could lead to being ’out of practice,’ and if I’m later forced to enter judgment or elimination type games, I might not be able to adapt to the game’s pace.

”So, every once in a while, I should still choose games with some pressure but controllable risk to enter, to maintain my state as a player.”

Li Renshu said approvingly, ”That makes a lot of sense.”

Just then, Dai Yifan spoke up, ”Wait, speaking of the game’s income issue... I’d also like to participate in this game.

”Because I have the least visa time.”

Li Renshu was momentarily stunned. This was indeed an issue.

After Dai Yifan joined Community 17, although he had gained good income in the first game ’Simple Q&A,’ he had donated a large portion of it.

The subsequent ’Self-Selected Game’ had average income, and he hadn’t participated in the ’Lifting Game.’

Currently, all players in the community had donated their excess visa time into the community fund. On the surface, they all seemed to carry similar amounts of visa time, but in reality, there were large differences in their ’savings’ in the fund.

Dai Yifan originally didn’t have much visa time, so naturally he didn’t have much in savings either.

Although this screening type game also carried death risk, it was already the best type besides distribution type games.

Moreover, with all of Community 17’s strong players mobilizing together, and the community’s immunity voucher having cooled down and ready, both factors ensured the safety of this game to a certain degree.

Cai Zhiyuan thought for a moment, ”I don’t think it’s necessary for all the game cores to enter. Sometimes having too many ideas can lead to conflicts.

”Bringing Dai Yifan along would be like a four-carrying-two mode, which is acceptable. Plus, it would let him train in the game.”

Li Renshu looked at the five players originally confirmed to enter and naturally focused on Yang Yuting.

”Yuting, you just participated in the last ’Lifting Game,’ so this time you should stay in the community.”

Yang Yuting nodded, ”Alright.”

The other players also accepted this choice by default.

The reason was very simple. Lin Sizhi, Wang Yongxin, Cai Zhiyuan, and Wei Yinzhang were clearly better choices than Yang Yuting.

Yang Yuting wasn’t particularly skilled at distribution and screening type games, just slightly better than average players. She had just participated in the last game, so there was no compelling reason for her to participate in this one.

Soon, the countdown ended.

[Players participating from this community: Lin Sizhi, Wang Yongxin, Cai Zhiyuan, Wei Yinzhang, Dai Yifan, Zhou Guifen.]

The next second, all six people disappeared from the hall.
