Journey to Planar World

Under a bright blue sky with low-hanging white clouds, the atmosphere of the beach seemed peaceful. The sea breeze carried a distinctive salty scent, gently swaying the coconut trees along the coastline. Normally, this beach was never devoid of visitors.

Children playing in the sand, couples walking hand-in-hand, and street vendors offering young coconuts—all of that created a lively scene full of happiness. But today, the beach was silent, as if time had stopped.

Only one figure could be seen along the empty coastline: a white-haired young man in floral-patterned clothes sitting on a small wooden chair. Next to him, a bucket containing some of his catch reflected the sunlight, while his fishing rod dangled into the blue sea. He looked calm, but if you looked closer, his expression contained a weariness that was hard to hide.

The young man was none other than Charlie Avalon.

”Huft… So peaceful… I wish the world was always peaceful…”

Of course, Charlie knew that was just a pipe dream. Even without the Abyssal Devourer’s invasion, humanity would never achieve true peace.

It should be remembered that the history of human civilization was filled with wars rather than peace.

”Whoa, Charlie-san has caught a lot of fish! You’re so good at fishing. Is there a special trick? Teach me!”

”Huh?”

Perhaps because he wasn’t feeling threatened while daydreaming, Charlie didn’t realize someone was approaching him.

”You… Yotsuba?”

Turning to the side, he glanced at the green rabbit ear-shaped ribbon on top of the girl’s head, only then did he identify the other party.

”Ding dong~ Charlie-san guessed correctly, I’m Nakano Yotsuba.” Yotsuba smiled brightly.

”So, what’s up?” Charlie asked, turning his gaze to the sea.

”Nino said the barbecue will be ready soon.”

”I see. Thanks, I’ll be back after Aishia tells me through telepathy.”

This was the second day since Deidara’s suicide attack. Charlie brought the Nakano quintuplets and the Uesugi siblings to the beach house.

There was no other choice. The C-0 explosion had completely destroyed Tokai City, leaving only a few intact buildings far from the center of the blast.

After that incident, Tokai City had become a dead city. Even the Japanese government didn’t dare send troops; they only monitored it through drones.

To change the heavy atmosphere, Charlie held a barbecue. But he only provided the ingredients and equipment. The one responsible was Nino.

”Charlie-san still wants to fish? Even though you’ve caught enough fish, you know.”

Yotsuba looked at the dozens of fish swimming in the bucket.

”Humans are creatures who never feel satisfied; the pursuit of a better life might be the driving force behind human progress…” Charlie replied casually.

”I have a different opinion. Happiness isn’t about having a lot of things, but about feeling satisfied even with a little.”

”…”

Hearing that, Charlie glanced at Yotsuba.

’I have to admit, among the quintuplets, Yotsuba’s personality deserves the title of Saintess. Her mindset and heart are so good and pure.’

”Did I say something wrong?”

Stared at intensely by the man, Yotsuba looked away in embarrassment.

”Nothing. Just thinking you’re too kind, Yotsuba. I’m worried your kindness will be taken advantage of by others.”

Often people abuse the kindness of others for their own gain. In other words, the lives of good people don’t end well.

In the adult world, if a good person opposes a system filled with corrupt and rotten people, then they will be eliminated or ostracized.

Charlie understood this very well.

”Ahahaha… Nino said something similar.” Yotsuba chuckled.

”Let me give you some advice, do you want it?”

”Of course!”

Yotsuba straightened her back, waiting for Charlie’s advice. After all, the other party was the biggest benefactor to her and her family.

”Sometimes, a person might fail to recognize how good they are being kind to others. What they also don’t realize is that that kindness can also be misinterpreted by others. The other party might feel that that kindness is only meant for them, and only them.”

”For example, a female idol shows her concern and care for her fans at a handshake and autograph session. It’s just standard service provided, but not all fans think so. They think they’re special in the female idol’s heart. So, when these misguided fans see news of their female idol announcing her marriage on social media, the fans will feel betrayed. As a result, some of the fans act extremely, investigate the female idol’s residence, and then stab her with a knife.”

”In short, what I want to say is: the care and attention shown to others is a double-edged sword.”

Yotsuba: ”😮”

Her mouth opened wide as if it could fit an egg.

”So scary… Can Charlie-san take a lighter example, it makes me afraid of fat men.”

”Oh, interesting. It turns out Yotsuba has a stereotype that otaku are fat people?”

”Ah, no… I didn’t mean it that way! I, I, I…”

Yotsuba spoke hesitantly, wanting to deny it but not knowing what to say.

”Charlie-san is bullying me!”

After saying that, she ran away, leaving Charlie alone.

”Teasing young girls is quite enjoyable.” Charlie smiled thinly.

A few minutes later, he was greeted by another girl. Without having to observe the iconic accessories the other party was wearing, he knew the girl was Nino. After all, the way she crossed her arms in front of her chest was only done by the arrogant Nino.

”Were you bullying Yotsuba? I saw her running as if she was escaping from something.” Nino glared sharply at Charlie.

”No no no… A man shouldn’t make a woman cry easily, except in bed.”

”Die, you dirty-minded man!”

*BAM!*

Charlie casually caught Nino’s hand that was about to slap his face.

”Don’t use violence; you’re not a barbaric woman.”

”Don’t worry, I’m only doing this to you because I know you won’t get hurt.”

”Should I feel honored?”

”How much longer are you going to hold my hand.”

”Oops, this wasn’t intentional.”

”Hmph!”

Nino snorted after Charlie released her hand.

”Why are you here? Is the barbecue ready?” Charlie asked because Aishia hadn’t told him.

”It just needs to be grilled. I’ll leave the rest to the guy named Uesugi. Hey, get me a chair.”

”…”

Without saying anything, Charlie took a chair out of the Space-Time Cache.

”You should have done this from the beginning.” Nino complained while sitting down.

”…”

There was silence between the two of them, only the sound of the sea breeze could be heard.

”Tomorrow is the last one, right?” Nino asked suddenly.

”Yes.” Charlie replied briefly.

The Summoner-type Abyssal Devourer could only summon five villains every three days. So far, Charlie had faced four villains.

The first villain: a member of the Japanese branch of United Woman, Kihara, who was also the creator of the MK Virus.

The second villain: a psychopathic high school student who was accidentally infected by an alien, which transformed him into a mechanical lifeform like a cyborg, Shishigami Hiro.

The third villain: one of the members of the League of Villains, who had the Quirk: Double. Considered very dangerous because of his potential threat, Bubaigawara Jin aka Twice.

The fourth villain: the youngest member of the Akatsuki, one of the artist duo and explosion maniac, Deidara.

Among the four of them, the villain who left the most damage on Earth was Kihara. Even though she was just an old woman with no combat power, her MK Virus had badly damaged the foundation of human civilization by wiping out 80% of the male population, which disrupted social order.

According to experts, relying only on the remaining 20% of men, it would take more than a century for human civilization to recover. During that period, scientific and technological progress would stagnate or even regress.

After all, most industries in the world were done by men.

Feminists didn’t realize that many things they enjoyed were actually the efforts of men. Now they began to feel the impact of the absence of men who managed and maintained various infrastructures.

”After all this is over, you’ll go back to your world, right?” Nino asked again.
