Journey to Planar World

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*

*RUMBLE!*

Charlie swung his sword, coated in lightning energy, trying to deflect the rain of lasers that were rapidly firing towards him. Although he managed to block most of the attacks, some laser shots managed to slip past his defenses, narrowly injuring his body.

”Ugh...”

Sweat mixed with blood flowed down his face, but his eyes remained cold, staring at Hiro who continued to press with relentless attacks.

*FFWWOOOSH!*

In the distance, Hiro hovered steadily using his jetpack, his body equipped with advanced technological weapons, seemingly unscathed by Charlie’s attacks. Without saying a word, he raised his arm, which had transformed into a large cannon.

*BZZZZZZ! ZAAAAP!*

*BOOOMMM!*

A powerful explosion occurred as a white energy projectile shot towards his enemy.

*WHOOSH!* *WHOOSH!* *WHOOSH!*

”Tsk.”

Annoyed by the long-range attacks, Charlie darted to the side, narrowly avoiding the explosion that destroyed the empty building below them. Debris flew everywhere, hitting the citizens who were trying to escape.

”AAARRGH...!!!”

”RUN QUICKLY!”

”AHHH… HELP ME…!”

*THUD!* *THUD!* *RUMBLE!*

On the ground, screams and cries were clearly heard. Many citizens trapped in the battle zone were trying to save themselves, but some of them became victims of Hiro’s attacks.

”Fuck!”

Seeing the scene below, Charlie couldn’t help but curse.

*WHOOSH!*

*BOOOMMM!*

A missile shot past him, exploding right in the middle of the crowd. Their bodies were thrown into the air, some lifeless on the spot.

”Son of bitch!”

Charlie gritted his teeth, anger began to burn inside him. However, he knew that emotions wouldn’t help him against an enemy as strong as Hiro. He had to stay focused, or more lives would be lost.

’Are this bastard’s missiles and lasers unlimited? He’s bombarding me without caring about consumption! Even Level 5 adventurers aren’t a match for this bastard, right?’ He thought to himself.

”...’

Seeing his attack successfully avoided, Hiro glided forward, changing his attack pattern. Dozens of mini-laser weapons on his back opened up, emitting white beams that locked onto Charlie from various angles.

*BZZZZZZ!* *ZAAAAP!* *BZZZZZZ!* *ZAAAAP!*

*WHOOSH!*

Charlie shot at high speed, trying to avoid the barrage of attacks. However, several laser beams hit his body, causing burns on his arms.

*WHOOSH!*

With a swift movement, he activated Wind Spirit Art to create an air vortex around him, deflecting the remaining laser attacks. He spun in the air, swinging his sword with full force.

*RUMBLE!*

*BOOM!*

A wave of lightning energy shot towards Hiro, creating a large explosion where the enemy was.

”Did it work?” Charlie narrowed his eyes.

However, as the smoke from the explosion cleared, Hiro appeared unharmed. His defense system had managed to absorb most of the attack’s energy. He chuckled, though silently, as if mocking his opponent’s futile efforts.

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*

He unleashed a series of missiles from his shoulders. The missiles shot at high speed, creating trails of smoke in the air.

*CLANG!* *CLANG!* *CLANG!*

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

”KWAAAAGH...!”

Charlie tried to slash several missiles with his sword, detonating them before they reached their target. However, the explosion created a shockwave that pushed him back.

*SWOOSH!*

*BOOOMMM!*

One missile managed to get past his defenses, hitting the ground below. Buildings collapsed, and the screams of those trapped inside were heartbreaking.

”Damn bastard...!!!’

Charlie clenched his fist, guilt stabbed his heart.

’I have to end this quickly, or the number of casualties will increase. But… It’s very difficult to get close to him… What should I do…’

”Huff… Huff… Huff…”

Landing briefly on the roof of a half-destroyed building. Charlie gasped, trying to think of his next move. His enemy was too strong in long-range combat. His missile and laser attacks were not only deadly, but also damaged the surrounding environment. Every passing second meant more casualties.

’I need an opening… I need a way to get close to him.’ He thought quickly.

”...”

However, Hiro didn’t give him time to breathe. The cyborg youth flew low, pointing both his arms that had transformed into large cannons. Two bright white energy balls formed at the end of the cannons, then were fired simultaneously.

*SWOOSH!*

*BOOOOOOM!*

The explosion destroyed the roof of the building where Charlie was standing. Fortunately, he jumped into the air in time, but the shockwave sent his body flying several meters. He tried to control himself in the air, using Wind Spirit Art to stabilize his position.

*WHOOSH!*

Hiro chased after him, dozens of laser weapons on his body began to glow again. This time, he aimed the lasers in various directions, creating an attack pattern that was impossible to completely avoid.

*RUMBLE!*

*BZZZZZZ! *ZAAAAP!* *BZZZZZZ!* *ZAAAAP!*

Spinning his sword rapidly, Charlie created a lightning energy barrier to protect himself. However, Hiro’s power seemed endless. Every time he managed to survive, the next attack came with greater intensity.

❀❀❀

Below, the citizens who survived the initial attack continued to run for safety. However, the constantly shifting battlefield left them with no shelter. Some people who tried to help the injured victims became targets of stray attacks.

*BZZZZZZ!* *ZAAAAP!*

*BOOOMMM!*

A small family hiding behind the rubble screamed in terror as one of Hiro’s lasers shot out, hitting the building near them. Debris fell on their heads, severely injuring some of them.

”OMG… Even Hollywood blockbusters are nothing compared to this! Damn it! Where is the JSDF? Why haven’t they come to capture these two cursed monsters? If they’re left alone, Tokai City will be razed to the ground.”

A young man who was recording the battle with his phone paused, his face pale as he saw the victims falling. He wanted to help, but fear kept him from moving.

Unbeknownst to him, 90% of the JSDF members were unable to operate. Not just the military in Japan, all military forces in every country were just a name.

Keep in mind that most military members are men. With the outbreak of the MK Virus epidemic that has killed 90% of the male population in the world, it’s no wonder that many institutions are unable to operate as they should.

Meanwhile, on the TV screen, the NHK anchor reported the situation with a trembling voice.

”We’re getting reports that the number of casualties from this fight is increasing. Many citizens are trapped in the battle zone and cannot be evacuated. Security forces seem to have no ability to handle this situation.”

”There’s no other choice, I have to take a risk.”

Charlie, who was still fighting with all his might, realized that he couldn’t let this fight drag on. Although his body was injured and he didn’t have time to use healing magic because of the constant attacks coming his way, he decided to act more aggressively.

*WHOOSH!*

At full speed, he shot towards Hiro, using Wind Spirit Art to accelerate his movement.

”What?”

Hiro seemed surprised, but he quickly adjusted. He activated his jetpack to dodge, then unleashed a barrage of laser attacks.

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*

However, this time Charlie didn’t try to dodge. He created an earth shield to block the attack, then continued his attack relentlessly. The lightning-glowing sword in his hand vibrated violently, ready to strike his enemy.

”I won’t let you!”

*SLASH!*

*BOOM!*

Hiro tried to block the attack with his arm cannon, but Charlie’s sword cut through it easily. A small explosion occurred, sending his body flying backwards.

However, it wasn’t enough to stop the cyborg. Hiro immediately got up, his partially destroyed body began to repair itself with automatic regeneration technology. He stared at him with cold eyes, seemingly unaffected by the attack.

”Oh shit, he even has regeneration abilities? You’re even more unfair than Reincarnators like me.”

Seeing him recover the damage to himself, Charlie complained in annoyance.
