Journey to Planar World

After leaving Twilight Manor, Charlie and Aishia did not immediately return to Empyrean Citadel.

Next, they both went to the Guild. After giving ten Space-Time Caches to Guild Chief Royman, Charlie received the remaining payment of 600 million valis from a total of 1 billion valis, with the remaining 400 million valis deducted from the house purchase.

Finally, he went to Goibniu Familia to deliver the Space-Time Caches. The blacksmiths at Goibniu Familia were very excited to see the Space-Time Caches and treated them like the most valuable treasures in the world.

With business affairs settled, Charlie invited Aishia on a date.

They visited various places. However, there are not many recreational amusement rides in Orario. After all, the Labyrinth City of Orario is a place where many adventurers, mercenaries, soldiers, and similar professions gather. Places like taverns, brothels, and casinos are thriving.

This is because those who work in life-threatening fields every day have immense mental pressure and need various ways to relieve it. Thus, businesses involving alcohol, gambling, and sexual services flourish.

It would be impossible for Charlie to take Aishia to a brothel or casino, right?

He didn’t want Aishia to be tainted by the dark side of the world. With not many options available, he could only use the classic method, which is shopping!

In his opinion, there is no woman who doesn’t like shopping. Even if there is, it’s just pretense due to poverty!

With about 650 million valis in the Space-Time Cache, Charlie was sure there was no ’individual’ richer than him!

Thus, he had the capital to splurge on satisfying Aishia’s shopping desires.

No matter what Aishia wanted, Charlie bought it without hesitation.

This is the feeling of those considered Crazy Rich in his previous life.

Even though Charlie held a high position in the police force, he never accepted corruption or abused his authority. In other words, he wasn’t actually that wealthy and was only relying on a modest monthly salary.

The evening finally greeted them as their steps led them to a famous candy shop in Orario. The place was always filled with visitors, but Charlie managed to find an empty table in a strategic corner. He ordered several types of the best cakes in the shop, ensuring everything was top-notch for Aishia.

Across the table, Charlie sat with a slight smile on his face, enjoying a view he rarely saw. Aishia, who usually had a nearly expressionless face, looked different this time. Though only slightly, there was a glimmer of happiness in her eyes as she tasted the cake.

’Shopping and sweets... If only modern women had a simple nature like Aishia and were easy to please, feminists who look down on men would never appear.’ Charlie thought, recalling unpleasant experiences from his previous life.

”Charlie isn’t eating? Are you going to let me eat all the cakes?”

”Go ahead, I’m not really fond of sweet food.”

”Alright.”

Aishia nodded gently, returning to enjoy the cake in front of her. Charlie continued to observe her.

’All business matters are settled. It’s time, let’s practice developing the ultimate technique.’

Remembering he was now Level 3, there was no need to explore the Dungeon for the time being. Level 3 is the Second-Class Adventurer, and it requires a Guild to be able to leave Orario.

On the surface, Charlie was Level 2. To avoid envy and jealousy from other adventurers that could lead to unnecessary problems, he wanted to delay reporting his level-up to the Guild.

Instead of gathering Excelia in the Dungeon like other adventurers, he wanted to focus on developing his ultimate technique so that his fighting style wouldn’t be monotonous and predictable.

’My swordsmanship was self-taught through real fights, so I don’t have systematic training or techniques from any specific swordsmanship style. Relying solely on basic techniques isn’t enough; opponents can easily predict them.’

Closing his eyes, Charlie recalled his fighting experience against Revis.

That situation was truly terrifying.

After Revis found out that the other party could only use basic sword techniques, the situation became more advantageous for her as she could predict her opponent’s attacks.

’No strength should be wasted. That’s my philosophy regarding techniques. Therefore, the ultimate technique I develop must have those characteristics.’

A rough description of how his ultimate technique would work began to form in Charlie’s mind.

”I’m full. Let’s go back, Charlie.”

”Oh, okay.”

Aishia’s voice brought Charlie back from his contemplation.

After paying the bill, the two of them returned to Empyrean Citadel.

Empyrean Citadel.

Wearing casual clothes, Charlie sat on the sofa while Aishia lay down, resting her head on his lap.

”So that’s the Grimoire that can grant magic? It looks pretty ordinary.”

”Riveria isn’t a narrow-minded person; she wouldn’t deceive me.”

Knowing how proud the Elf Race is, Charlie didn’t think Riveria would do something despicable like deceiving him, considering she came from a royal family.

”Charlie is right. The Elf doesn’t seem like a deceiver.” Aishia nodded in agreement.

”Hopefully, I’ll get some OP (over power) magic.”

Charlie examined the book in his right hand more closely.

The book was completely white and very thick, smelling like old paper. It was covered with many unreadable figures and patterns. Plus, there was no title.

Not wanting to delay any longer, he opened the book and began to read.

[Chapter 1: Modern Magic That Even Goblins Can Understand!]

”Wow, the person who made this Grimoire really underestimates others’ IQ, huh? Doesn’t that mean if someone fails to gain magic after reading this Grimoire, they’re dumber than a Goblin? The author has poor taste.”

Just reading the introduction, Charlie wondered if Riveria had a motive to mock him by choosing to give him this Grimoire.

Shaking his head, he continued reading the next page.

[There are two types of Magic: innate and acquired. As indicated by the term ”innate” this type of magic can be used by various races based on genetics. Since ancient times, these races have had the potential to become magic users within them and have been trained in magic at a young age through rituals. Although the types of magic they can use are somewhat limited, the power and scale of this magic are often very high]

Reading carefully, Charlie flipped to the next page.

[Acquired magic refers to the possibility of magic being granted to individuals who receive Falna and emerges spontaneously. With almost no limitations, this type of magic has many different forms. The effects of magic heavily depend on Excelia]

An image appeared.

It was a head. It had eyes. It had a nose. It had a mouth. It had ears. It was the face of someone.

A human face with closed eyes drawn in black. An image created from words in that section.

”A creepy drawing... This reminds me of a satanic group.” Charlie commented.

The next page.

[If you want it, answer. If you want it, destroy. If you want it, focus! The terrifying mirror of truth is before you]

As he flipped to the next page, something unexpected happened that shocked him.
