Journey to Planar World

With the vast storage capacity of the Space-Time Cache, Charlie didn’t need a truck to haul his loot.

After he felt he had enough, he destroyed the CCTV footage in the surveillance room before leaving. Then he headed to the parking lot and looked for a car that could accommodate about seven people.

It wasn’t a difficult task, there were many types of cars in the shopping mall parking lot. Finally, he chose a white Daihatsu Xenia, which was his favorite color.

For Charlie, starting the car without a key was easy.

”Aishia, is everything going smoothly?”

Driving the car away from the shopping mall, he contacted Aishia through telepathy.

”Mm. As Charlie said, no one left the apartment.”

Aishia’s voice sounded in his mind.

”That’s good, maintain the status quo. I need to prepare a hiding place.”

”Understood.”

The telepathic communication ended. Charlie felt he was far enough, so he canceled the hypnosis and barrier in the shopping mall.

”There must be a panic right now.”

While driving on the highway, he could imagine the reaction of the people in the shopping mall when they saw that many items were suddenly missing.

”Well, where should I build a safe sanctuary…”

Putting aside his guilt, Charlie checked the GPS on the car’s dashboard.

Since he planned to kidnap the Nakano quintuplets, there was no doubt that their father, Nakano Maruo, would report his daughters’ disappearance to the police. As a leading doctor, he had connections with many important people. It wouldn’t be difficult for him to mobilize the entire police force in Tokai City.

As a former police officer, Charlie knew how terrifying it was when the entire police force was mobilized to conduct a search.

”Dealing with the Abyssal Devourer is already very troublesome, I don’t want to add the country’s security agency to the list of enemies.” He muttered in a low voice.

”Maybe I should apply Luffy’s saying in this case. ’If you want to hide a tree, hide it in the forest. If you want to hide a ship, hide it among other ships!’. Hiding on the outskirts of the city is too obvious… Decided, the hiding place must be in the middle of the city! Precisely, in the basement.”

Parking car on the side of the road, Charlie searched for an old apartment that rented rooms through the phone he randomly took from someone.

About 10 minutes later, he had contacted the apartment owner, he rushed to the location.

As long as the problem could be solved with money, he didn’t mind. After all, it wasn’t his money, so he didn’t feel any loss when using it. Charlie paid so much that the apartment owner immediately allowed him to use a room on the first floor.

”Take a look at the interior of a ten-thousand yen per month apartment.”

Charlie pushed open the door of the old apartment, which creaked softly due to the hinges that hadn’t been lubricated for a long time. Dim light from a small fluorescent lamp illuminated the cramped room. Only eight square meters in size, this room resembled a single room more than an apartment.

The walls were dull with peeling paint in some places, revealing the gray plaster layer underneath. The air inside the room felt damp and slightly stuffy, poor air circulation was clearly a problem. A small window in one corner of the room seemed insufficient to bring in fresh air, let alone sunlight.

On the left side, a small kitchen consisting only of a rusty sink and an old electric stove merged with the bathroom separated by a plastic curtain. A faint smell of soap mixed with the aroma of leftover food that might have been cooked by the previous tenant.

In the middle of the room, a thin mattress without a bed frame lay on the floor. Next to it was a small table covered in scratches and coffee stains. It was the only furniture besides a small safe in the corner of the room.

However, despite all these shortcomings, Charlie didn’t complain. He was actually quite satisfied.

’The police wouldn’t suspect the kidnapper of the Nakano quintuplets would hide in this shabby apartment, would they? After all, the room is too small to accommodate many people. Of course, I don’t intend to put them in this room.’ He thought to himself.

”Alright, time to work.”

Closing the door, Charlie set up a soundproof barrier so that other tenants wouldn’t be disturbed by the noise he made.

Destroying the floor to reveal the soil, he used Earth Spirit Art and started building a basement.

Thanks to his experience building a basement in Empreyan Citadel, he was very skilled at working, and spent four hours building it.

”It’s done. All that’s left is to pick up the target and move them here.”

Wiping the sweat off his forehead, Charlie looked at the fruits of his hard work with satisfaction.

The basement consisted of two specially designed rooms. The first room was narrow, only big enough for one person. However, despite its small size, the room was equipped with all the basic necessities: a small bed in the corner, an electric stove, a pile of canned food, several boxes filled with bottled mineral water, clean clothes, and toiletries. A small bathroom with a toilet was located in another corner, making this room self-sufficient despite its simplicity.

The room was dedicated to Fuutarou.

Even though his actions were against the law, Charlie wouldn’t put an unmarried man and woman in the same room.

On the other hand, the second room was much larger. It was spacious enough to accommodate eight people at once. The walls were lined with blast-proof materials, and all the facilities inside were neatly arranged. There were beds lined up along the wall, each equipped with comfortable blankets and pillows. A modern electric stove was in one corner along with neatly arranged canned food shelves. A large amount of mineral water was stored in boxes, and another shelf was full of clean clothes.

No doubt, this room was prepared for the Nakano quintuplets.

In the middle of this room, there was a long table and chairs that allowed the occupants to gather or discuss. As in the first room, there was a separate bathroom and toilet, ensuring that the occupants’ basic needs were met without having to leave the basement.

These two rooms were separated by a bulletproof glass wall, which reflected the dim light from the LED lights embedded in the ceiling.

”This basement is 30 meters underground. As long as the villains summoned by the Abyssal Devourer don’t have destructive power, this is a safe place.”

It was currently 11:30 PM. Charlie knew his time was running out. So he quickly drove to pick up the target.

As he arrived in front of the luxurious apartment where the Nakano family lived, he contacted Aishia and told her to hypnotize the quintuplets to come with him.

A few moments later, Aishia walked out of the apartment with Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki, who walked behind her in a daze. Then, the five girls entered the car, while Aishia sat in the front seat next to Charlie.

”Thank you for your hard work, Aishia.”

”Compared to Charlie, I didn’t do anything.”

Noticing Charlie’s dirty clothes, Aishia helped him clean them with Water and Wind Spirit Art.

”Next is the protagonist, Uesugi Fuutarou.”

Glancing at the quintuplets through the rearview mirror, Charlie saw their empty eyes without a glimmer of light. Pulling his gaze away, he drove to the Uesugi family home.

The process of kidnapping Fuutarou was without any obstacles. Then, Charlie returned to the old apartment, taking advantage of the dark night, he moved them to the basement he had just built, and let them sleep.

”Whew, finally done.”

Raising his hand and stretching his body, Charlie felt relaxed.

He threw himself onto the mattress and stared at the water-stained ceiling.

”Hoam~… Good night, Charlie.”

Lying beside him, Aishia looked sleepy and went straight to sleep.

”Good night, Aishia.”

That night, despite the simplicity, Charlie decided to rest with a peaceful mind.
