Journey to Planar World

Seeing that no one was willing to start even after a few minutes, Alaya began to get impatient.

”Don’t be cowards. Don’t you realize that the four Planar Worlds are just ordinary everyday worlds? The Abyssal Devourer sent won’t be too strong. This information has been confirmed through the previous two cycles.”

”What Alaya said is true. The Abyssal Devourer’s strength level depends on the world itself.”

”...”

The atmosphere remained silent, Gaia’s persuasion didn’t help much.

”Alright, since none of you want to start, then I will allocate your grouping.”

Finally, Gaia acted like a dictator, ignoring the dissatisfied looks of Thomas and the others.

”Frank and Elena take Quest 1. Wang Jian, Farah, and Thomas take Quest 3, Kazuya, Miguel, Claire, and Oscar take Quest 4.”

”Lastly, Quest 2… Charlie, that’s for you.”

”Wait a minute, Gaia. Isn’t there something strange about this grouping? I don’t mind taking Quest 2, but why am I alone?!?!”

Ignoring the mocking glances, sympathy, pity, and sneers from the people around him, Charlie complained.

There was no other choice. Based on the participants’ recommendations, it already showed that Quest 2 was very dangerous compared to the other Quests.

Considering that he was currently the strongest among them, Charlie had already guessed that he would be taking Quest 2. However, doing it alone was beyond his expectations.

”The reason is simple, except for you, the other Saviors will die if they participate in Quest 2. Charlie Avalon, you have no right to refuse. Do it, or we will revoke your reincarnation status, and you will return to nothingness.” Alaya said indifferently.

An outright threat!

Not only Charlie felt his heart turn cold, the other Saviors felt the same.

Was that what they would experience if they refused?

’I hate this powerless feeling…’

Clenching his fists, Charlie wouldn’t let anger take over him. After all, he knew he had no chance against Alaya and Gaia even if he used everything he had.

”Charlie, I know this isn’t fair to you, but what Alaya said is true. Out of all of you, only you are qualified. Wang Jian can only use his Cursed Energy to strengthen his physique, Frank has just obtained Sigil, and Oscar has unlocked 20% of his template seal, the rest… Well, they are just ordinary people. In other words, they won’t come back alive if they take Quest 2.”

Gaia’s words were like arrows piercing the hearts of the listeners, especially Miguel and Kazuya. The two of them had extraordinary templates, Cid Kagenou and Tsukiguni Yoriichi. Unfortunately, they failed to unlock their seals and remained ordinary people.

Kazuya was reincarnated into the Konosuba world. Normally, it wasn’t difficult to become an adventurer and become stronger by killing monsters to level up. But he was imprisoned for two months for accidentally offending a nobleman.

Meanwhile, Miguel was reincarnated in the One Piece world. In fact, he didn’t know it was the One Piece world. After all, he was on a deserted island without any human settlements. He was already struggling to survive by relying on the island’s natural resources. How could he have time to learn Haki or find a Devil Fruit?

”Alright, I accept it.”

What else could Charlie say? He could only agree without any other choice.

”Relax, you will get double compensation if you successfully complete Quest 2. Moreover, you aren’t really alone.” Gaia smiled mysteriously.

”What do you mean?” Charlie frowned.

”Guess~”

”You’re allowed to bring your Spirit.”

Unable to bear Gaia’s playful attitude, Alaya interrupted.

”Thank you, that eases my burden.”

Hearing that Aishia could go with him, Charlie breathed a sigh of relief. With this, the percentage of success in completing Quest 2 increased significantly.

”Remember, there are only two methods to complete the Quest. First, protect the protagonist and heroine until the plot is complete. Of course, this method is inefficient and time-consuming. Second, eliminate the Abyssal Devourer so that the plot can continue even without your protection.” Gaia reminded them once again.

”Excuse me, what happens to the world where we were reincarnated if we choose the first method.” Elena raised her hand and asked.

In this second life, she was the second student of Kuoh Academy. No matter how long she spent in the Planar World, she couldn’t help but worry.

”Ah, don’t worry. While you are in the Planar World, time in the real world is in a static state, so you don’t have to worry about your world. As long as you are in the Planar World, you won’t age, so you can rest assured when choosing the first method.”

Guessing everyone’s concerns, Gaia explained first before anyone asked.

”By the way, you will be sent one day before the Abyssal Devourer arrives. Make the most of that time.”

”Enough talking, Gaia. It’s time for you to work.”

After Alaya said that, the bodies of the ten Saviors were enveloped in light. Before they could react, they had disappeared.

”I wish you success, Saviors.”

”...”

Although Alaya didn’t say anything, she agreed with Gaia.

This was the final cycle. Their failure was the same as their own end.

When Charlie opened his eyes, a strange sight greeted him. The night sky adorned with the twinkling lights of the city appeared in the distance, while he stood in a dark, narrow alleyway. The shadows of pedestrians were faintly visible at the end of the alleyway, passing by without noticing his presence.

”I already know everything that happened in the Void Sanctuary, Charlie doesn’t need to explain anything.”

”...!!!”

Charlie was shocked to hear the flat but gentle voice. When he turned to his side, Aishia’s figure had already stood there.

”Good, that saves a lot of time. First, let’s gather information about this world.” Charlie nodded lightly.

However, before he could take a step, Aishia raised her hand and stopped him.

”Before that, Charlie has to change clothes first.”

”Clothes?”

Charlie checked himself. Only then did he realize. The adventurer costume he was wearing – the Eclipse Aegis Robe, light armor, and Damocles Sword – would immediately attract attention. It was like a cosplayer who got lost in the crowd.

”You’re right.”

From within the Space-Time Cache, he took out casual clothes that were somewhat similar to modern clothing. After changing, Aishia nodded in satisfaction.

”You won’t attract attention now.”

”No, we will still attract attention.”

”???”

Charlie didn’t intend to explain to the confused Aishia.

With Aishia’s beauty, she would stand out no matter where she was.

Then, Charlie stepped out of the alleyway, followed by Aishia. As soon as he saw the scene in front of him, a sense of nostalgia hit him.

Cars were driving on the highway illuminated by traffic lights, skyscrapers towered, and the distinctive hustle and bustle of the city filled the air.

”Even though it’s only been a month since I last saw this scene, it feels like a long time ago…”

”Are you okay, Charlie?”

”Just melancholic, that’s all.”

Adjusting the mood of his day, Charlie held Aishia to avoid being separated. The two walked on the sidewalk, joining the other pedestrians.
