Journey to Planar World

Charlie opened the door quietly and stepped inside.

Inside the room, an elderly woman with short lavender hair sat by a large window, enjoying tea while gazing at the deserted cityscape.

The creator of MK Virus, Kihara!

”As expected of the Savior. Your response is quite fast. You found me easily. Even so, I will never reveal the Lord’s whereabouts.” Kihara said without turning around, her voice calm yet full of mockery.

Charlie’s eyes shone coldly and said emotionlessly. ”Then, you are useless…”

”Die!”

*WHOOSH!*

He wasn’t interested in beating around the bush with the woman. In an instant, Charlie disappeared from where he stood, appearing right in front of Kihara with the Damocles Sword in hand. Before Kihara could react, he thrust it straight into her heart without hesitation.

*Pu-chi!*

The sound of the sword piercing flesh echoed in the silent room.

Very anticlimactic!

Kihara’s achievement of almost causing the Sixth Mass Extinction through the MK Virus was indeed impressive. But in the end, she was just an ordinary human. Facing Charlie, a Level 3 adventurer, she was powerless.

”Cough… cough… You killer… I will drag you to death with me.”

Kihara coughed up blood, her face turned pale, but she still managed to smile cynically.

*SSSSSHHHHTTTTTT!*

Suddenly, a hissing sound filled the room. Greenish poisonous gas began to spread from the corners of the room.

Seeing her inhale the poisonous gas, Kihara smiled cunningly, confident that the gas would end the other person’s life.

”...”

However, Charlie’s expression remained flat, not bothered in the slightest.

”Cough… you…”

Kihara coughed harder, blood flowing from the corner of her mouth. Before she could continue her sentence, her vitality faded rapidly, and she collapsed to the floor.

*SWISH!*

Charlie calmly pulled out his sword, blood dripping from the blade.

”I’m immune to poison.”

Kihara’s body lay lifeless on the floor, her blood forming a small puddle. Charlie stepped back, avoiding the liquid.

Walking to the window, he opened it to let the poisonous gas out. As fresh air flowed in, he took a deep breath, his eyes gazing at the silent city.

”I expected as much, killing Kihara doesn’t change anything. The MK Virus still exists.”

Charlie could feel the presence of the MK Virus in the air. Every time he breathed, the virus entered his body, but the effect was zero. With The Chosen Savior skill, he was almost immune to all kinds of debuffs like poison, curses, charms, mind control, instant death, etc.

In fact, he suspected that not only he had this ability, but all Saviors in the third cycle also had it. However, they seemed to be unaware of this.

Through the Falna bestowed upon him by Hera, Charlie learned about The Chosen Savior skill.

”Let’s destroy the evidence.”

Leaving the room, Charlie went straight to the hotel’s security room. Using Spirit Arts to hypnotize, he made the security personnel delete all the surveillance camera recordings showing his presence. After that, he told them to continue their work as if nothing had happened.

With light steps, Charlie left the hotel. His pace slowed when suddenly Aishia’s soft and calm voice flowed into his mind through telepathic transmission.

”Charlie, there’s a problem.”

”What is it, Aishia? Did they do something that requires you to report to me?”

”Mm. The situation is a bit out of control. Uesugi Fuutarou is banging his head against the wall until it bleeds. He’s demanding to check his father’s condition.”

Charlie frowned at the report. Based on Aishia’s explanation, this happened because through the news broadcast on TV, everyone was bombarded with information about the increasing number of MK Virus victims every minute. Even high-ranking government officials, including the prime minister, had died, causing the government to be almost completely paralyzed.

This uncertain situation made Fuutarou increasingly anxious, so he took extreme action.

”Not bad. It shows his concern for his family.”

Charlie slightly appreciated Fuutarou even though the man was filled with many flaws.

”He’s worried that his father is infected with the MK Virus and his younger sister, Raiha, is alone after their father’s death. Therefore, he started hurting himself to make his voice heard.” Aishia continued, her tone remaining calm, despite the seriousness of the situation.

”What did you do to stop him?” Charlie asked, confident that Aishia wouldn’t let Fuutarou continue his actions.

”I put him to sleep with Spirit Arts.”

”Tsk. Problems keep coming. Alright, I’ll check Uesugi Isanari’s condition first.”

Uesugi Isanari was the name of Fuutarou and Raiha’s father. Charlie learned this with Aishia’s help.

”Charlie, the quintuplets also asked the same thing about their father.”

”Alright. Tell Ichika and the others that I will check their father’s situation as well. Make sure they don’t do anything dangerous.”

”Mm.”

The telepathic conversation ended. Without wasting time, Charlie decided to start with Nakano Maruo.

Maruo was a prestigious doctor with a net worth above white-collar workers who worked overtime for decades. He worked at the largest hospital in Tokai City. Therefore, Charlie knew his location without having to investigate.

❀❀❀

The largest hospital in Tokai City.

Using Spirit Arts, Charlie made himself invisible to everyone. He floated calmly towards the upper floor of the hospital, where important patients were usually treated.

The sight at the hospital was bleak. The corridors were filled with critically ill male patients, some unconscious, with their skin turning purple due to the MK Virus infection. The female nurses looked exhausted, working tirelessly amidst the screams of pain and sobs of patients’ families.

Hypnotizing one of the passing nurses, Charlie asked about Maruo’s whereabouts.

Based on the nurse’s account, Maruo was currently being treated in a VIP room.

”Huft… I’m getting better at using hypnosis through Spirit Arts. Good thing I’m not abusing it like the protagonist of hentai anime. Otherwise…”

Putting aside that irrelevant thought, Charlie stepped into the hospital’s VIP room, his gaze immediately falling on Maruo, who was lying weakly on the bed.

Maruo’s body looked thin, with pale skin and heavy breathing—a clear sign that the MK Virus had gnawed at his body. At the side of his bed, medical devices beeped monotonously, indicating the struggle of his vital body that was starting to give in.

”...”

As Maruo’s gaze fell on Charlie, his cloudy eyes narrowed slightly, trying to recognize the strange young man who had suddenly entered without permission.

”Who are you?” He asked in a weak voice.

Charlie approached the bed. Without hesitation, he answered frankly.

”I’m the one who kidnapped your five daughters.”

”...!!!”

The weak Maruo suddenly flinched. His eyes widened even though his body was too weak to move much.

”So it’s you! What do you want? Don’t hurt my daughters. I’ll give you as much money as you want.” His voice was a mixture of anger and despair.

This morning, he learned that his five daughters didn’t go to school. So he arranged for his trusted aide, Ebata, to go to the apartment to check. Then he learned that the apartment was empty. After checking the surveillance cameras, Maruo learned that his five daughters were walking behind a beautiful woman entering a car at almost midnight!

Based on his sharp observation, he speculated that his five daughters were unaware of what they were doing. Otherwise, why wouldn’t they bring their phones?

Of course, Maruo used his connections to contact high-ranking police officials, asking them to find his five daughters. However, before the investigation began, the MK Virus outbreak swept the world. Government operations and agencies were completely paralyzed, including the investigation of his case.

He himself contracted the MK Virus while on duty as a doctor. Ironically, his dedication to saving patients became the cause of his body’s destruction. Now, amidst his impending death, his mind was filled with anxiety about the safety of his five daughters.
