Not Being a Trainer This Time

Sure enough, upon hearing the words ”real Golden Crown,” both Spectrier and Glastrier’s attention was instantly drawn.

Spectrier snorted.

If it could obtain that crown, Glastrier would no longer have the right to mock it; by then, it would truly become the King of Horses!

Glastrier also widened its eyes, very excited.

This crown, it must get!

Calyrex looked at Naoki with a helpless expression.

But then, what about the Horse-type Pokemon that loses?

Naoki gestured for Calyrex to calm down, then continued:

”But keep in mind, in the future, every year, the horse that doesn’t get the crown will have the right to challenge the King of Horses. After all, the King of Horses should be the most powerful Horse-type Pokemon in the world, not only the fastest but also the strongest. If it isn’t strong enough, it doesn’t deserve to hold the position of King of Horses.”

Calyrex could not help but nod.

That’s right! This way, there’s no need to worry about any Horse-type Pokemon being disappointed. Even if it loses this year’s match, it can still challenge the crown next year.

What a good idea! Calyrex looked at Naoki gratefully.

After hearing these words, both Spectrier and Glastrier fell into contemplation.

What Naoki said was right, the King of Horses should be the fastest and most powerful Horse-type Pokemon!

Only such a Horse-type Pokemon deserves to be called the King of Horses.

”Very well.” Naoki nodded and continued, ”Next, you should rest a bit, and when you’re in your best condition, I’ll start the King of Horses competition for you.”

”But remember, at that time, Calyrex will not ride with you in the battle; you can only rely on your own strength to fight for the crown.”

”Neigh~ hiss!”

”Ice~ hiss!”

Both Glastrier and Spectrier were full of fighting spirit.

”Then you both should go rest now!” Naoki said.

The two horses, obsessed with the crown, each found a place to rest and prepare.

It didn’t matter that the stable was gone, when they were in the Crown Tundra, they used to sleep directly out in the open anyway.

Watching their backs, Naoki and Calyrex were momentarily at a loss for words.

Well, he should go find Keri to rebuild the stable.

Such troublesome horses.

But Keri was still over at the World Tree building the Explorer Team Guild; she probably didn’t have time to come rebuild the stable here.

In that case, let the two horses deal with some hardship first, sleeping directly on the grass, and see if they dare to destroy the ranch facilities again in the future.

”Where do you plan to find the crown?” Calyrex asked, looking a bit worried.

”That’s simple.” A Pokemon’s image floated into Naoki’s mind: ”Just find Gholdengo and ask for some gold coins, then take them to the town and give them to the craftsmen to help forge a Golden Crown.”

Gholdengo had given him many coins before, all of which Naoki had collected, likely enough to make a Golden Crown.

This way, he wouldn’t have to borrow coins from Gholdengo again.

That afternoon, Naoki took a big bag of coins to Porto Marinada Town.

He found a gold goods specialty shop, handed over the coins, and asked them to help make a crown.

”No problem!” The master craftsman in the shop confidently assured him: ”My craftsmanship is renowned throughout Porto Marinada Town. I only need a day to create the item you want. Come back tomorrow at this time!”

”Okay.” Naoki nodded, indicating that a Pokemon would pick it up tomorrow, so the crown should be handed directly to it by then.

”No problem!” The master craftsman agreed.

After returning to the ranch, Naoki started cleaning up the ruins of the stable destroyed by Spectrier and Glastrier.

Wood pieces and planks were everywhere; throwing them away felt wasteful. Naoki planned to keep them and use them for burning in the fireplace for warmth later when it got cold.

The Pokemons were all playing around on the ranch.

After that day’s incident, Koraidon and Cyclizar’s relationship had improved a lot.

Naoki often saw the two of them together, with Cyclizar consulting Koraidon and Koraidon teaching Cyclizar the moves it mastered.

Seeing this harmonious scene, Naoki was very pleased.

Thinking back, the relationship between the two Pokemons was quite terrible at the beginning! Koraidon was full of hostility toward Cyclizar, and Cyclizar was also afraid of Koraidon.

No one expected that they would become good friends now.

It really confirmed the lyric ”At first sight, I didn’t like you, who knew our relationship would later become so close.”

A good thing indeed!

Naoki waved and spoke to the two Pokemons from afar: ”Keep up the good work, I’m off to check on the World Tree!”

Who knows what Slowking is thinking about its life right now.

”Ah gah hiss!”

”Gah ooo!”

Koraidon and Cyclizar replied cheerfully.

Naoki smiled slightly, then took his Rotom Phone and Translation Nuts Cake and headed for the World Tree in the Reversed World.

During this time, Naoki glanced at his Rotom Phone and saw that Giratina was complaining in the Lagendary Beast chat group.

[World’s Greatest Giratina: So annoying, the two guys next door are stirring up trouble again. They better not interfere with my Reversed World, or I’ll end them both!]
