900 Chapter 900 442: As If an Old Friend Returns 2026-11-03

At 6:35 a.m. Paldea time, while Naoki was feeding the Pokemon at the ranch, he felt a shadow pass over his head.

He looked up to see a large flock of Dragonite landing in the ranch.

Naoki:!!!

Normally, Dragonite coming to work at the ranch is a usual thing.

But why so many Dragonite today?!

Startled, Naoki quickly found the most prominent senior Dragonite and asked it what was going on.

To this, the senior Dragonite honestly replied: ”Whooo.” (They also want to work here.)

A nearby working Dragonite added: ”Woo woo!” (That’s right! Naoki, as long as you give them Poffins, they’ll be happy to work like us!)

”...”

After listening to the replies from several Dragonite, Naoki finally figured out what was happening.

Turns out his Dragonite employees had told the other Dragonite about the ranch affairs when they returned to the island yesterday, saying goodbye, and attracted these Dragonite over.

However, Naoki felt it was more likely because they realized they couldn’t get free Poffins anymore, so they came over to work...

Looking at this scene, Naoki was momentarily at a loss for words.

If Professor Oak were here studying the ecology of Dragonite, he would surely discover something.

That is, working at Naoki Ranch seemed to be extremely popular among some young Dragonite.

”Alright then!” Naoki looked at the other Dragonite, smiling to show his goodwill: ”Welcome, I’m Naoki, the owner of this ranch.”

The Dragonite blinked; they knew Naoki because he’d visited their Dragonite Island before and gave them a lot to eat.

”From now on, please take good care of each other. Help me deliver goods, and as thanks, I’ll make Poffins for you.”

Naoki asked Koraidon to get a dozen idle Rotom Phones, then called the Dragonite from his household to help guide and teach these new Dragonite.

Dragonite nodded, maturely stepping forward to take Naoki’s place and began teaching the new Dragonite how to use Rotom Phones and deliver goods.

Meanwhile, some veteran Dragonite employees were providing additional support nearby.

And Naoki counted the number of these newly joined Dragonite.

”One, two, three, four... eleven, twelve, thirteen.”

”A total of thirteen Dragonite, plus twelve existing employees, there are now twenty-five Dragonite and one Dratini in the ranch.”

Naoki: ”...” What an exaggerated number!

So, how many Dragonite are left on Dragonite Island now?

If he remembered correctly, there were only a total of thirty-plus Dragonite there, right?

Including Dratini and Dragonair who hadn’t evolved yet, the total number probably didn’t exceed fifty.

Oh my, half of Dragonite Island’s Dragonite have come to his ranch!

Even Naoki himself could hardly believe this number.

He remembered that the giant Dragonite was also living on Dragonite Island now.

The giant Dragonite originally came to the Paldea Region to look for friends, hardly finding an island of kin, and now, half the island’s Dragonite had come to him...

Naoki was momentarily speechless.

How about inviting the remaining Dragonite to settle on the World Tree?

This way, the Dragonite could gather here, even if they don’t work for him.

Although Naoki wanted to invite all the Dragonite over, the remaining Dragonite surely didn’t plan to leave Dragonite Island.

Otherwise, they would’ve come along this morning.

Since the Dragonite didn’t intend to, he couldn’t force them to move.

After contemplating carefully, Naoki gave up on this idea.

However, even though he gave up, the Dragonite had ideas of their own.

In the evening, after finishing a day’s work, Naoki brought the Dragonite to the World Tree and temporarily settled them by the lake where Milotic resided.

After that, Naoki returned to the ranch while the Dragonite, full of curiosity, looked around, flew around, and familiarized themselves with the surroundings.

During this time, Milotic, who came earlier, along with Tropius, Tatsugiri, Arboliva, and other Pokemon noticed these twenty-plus Dragonite.

To welcome them, Arboliva generously offered Berries stored in the warehouse.

By night, Keri finished the construction and returned home with the Machamp, leaving only this group of Pokemon on the World Tree.

After discussing with everyone, Arboliva and Milotic held a campfire gathering for the Dragonite.

Treecko, Arboliva, Tatsugiri, Milotic, Dragonite, and other Pokemon sat around the fire.

Arboliva used found leaves to serve Berries, while Tropius shared its banana fruit with everyone.

The three Tatsugiri looked at the Dragonite and asked: ”Mee?” (Where did you all come from?)

A Dragonite replied: ”Whooo～” (From Dragonite Island, where there are many, many Dragonite～)

”Whooo!” Another Dragonite nodded happily to affirm, but soon felt a bit sad, saying, ”Whooo...” (We won’t be able to see them again anymore...)

”Chafu?” The Treecko looked puzzled, why?
