Not Being a Trainer This Time

Naoki’s thoughts inadvertently returned to that chilly spring morning two years ago, picturing himself and Cyclizar huddled in the dilapidated old house, drinking steaming hot noodle soup.

At that time, Cyclizar really disliked the taste of hot noodle soup, so Naoki rarely made it for him again. Cyclizar mostly ate sandwiches, fried chicken patties, and roasted meats after that.

However, seeing Cyclizar wanting to give it another try, Naoki cheerfully agreed: ”Alright, I’ll make you hot noodle soup again.”

It’s not like the past anymore; their lives are no longer tight, and the refrigerator is stuffed with a variety of ingredients. They can buy whatever they want to eat.

Naoki spent quite a bit of effort to finally find a pack of noodles in the cupboard.

Adding clean water into the pot, waiting for the noodles to soften, and then adding scallions and lard, letting the noodles soak up the broth.

Recalling the scene of making hot noodle soup for the first time, Cyclizar had just arrived at the ranch, barely a few months old.

Now Cyclizar has grown into a large Pokemon.

A smile appeared on Naoki’s face as he felt happiness from meeting Cyclizar, while he added a drop of sesame oil into the pot and placed a prepared soft-boiled egg inside. With a poke from the chopsticks, the golden yolk slowly flowed out, merging with the noodle soup.

Finally, Naoki turned off the heat and served the noodles into a clean porcelain bowl. Bright green scallions floated on the surface of the broth, making it look very appetizing just by looking.

Hot noodle soup is ready!

Naoki placed the bowl of hot noodle soup in front of Cyclizar and habitually glanced at its effect.

However, in the next second, Naoki suddenly noticed something incredible.

Because the effect of the hot noodle soup had changed compared to the familiar bowl he made in the past!

Hmm?

Naoki stared blankly at the unusual bowl of hot noodle soup before him.

As if sensing Naoki’s oddness, Cyclizar looked over with puzzlement.

”Grr?”

Naoki finally came to his senses and said to Cyclizar: ”Eat up! After you finish, make a wish; maybe this bowl of noodles will help you fulfill it.”

Cyclizar was a bit surprised: ”Grr hiss?”

”It’s true,” Naoki nodded: ”You can give it a try.”

Upon hearing this, Cyclizar immediately lowered his head, lying down by the food bowl and devouring the special hot noodle soup.

Hmm, the taste is much better than the first time he ate it, Cyclizar happily ate it, and when he finished the last sip of broth, he started to make a wish.

What wish should he make?

At that moment, Cyclizar thought about a lot of things, he thought about Naoki, the folks at the ranch, and finally Koraidon.

Recalling the words Koraidon had said to him just now, Cyclizar had the answer in his heart.

He wished within himself—for Koraidon not to leave and to always accompany Naoki.

Now, he no longer feels bad about not being as powerful as Koraidon.

Because Naoki said that he and Koraidon are different, that he is important to Naoki too.

Having made the wish, Cyclizar opened his eyes.

In that case, Koraidon probably won’t leave anymore, right?

”What wish did you make?” Naoki curiously looked towards Cyclizar.

Thinking of the promise with Koraidon, Cyclizar shook his head: ”Grr!”

He must keep the secret!

”So mysterious, alright, I won’t ask then. May your wish come true!” Naoki stood up and started cleaning the pots and bowls.

Cyclizar stayed to the side.

During the time, Naoki noticed the Glaceon, Ogerpon, Alcremie, Pawmot, and other Pokemon secretly watching from the living room.

He said to Cyclizar: ”Glaceon and the others were very worried about you before, would you like to say something to them?”

Upon hearing this, Cyclizar looked back and indeed saw Glaceon and the others.

Recalling his own state over the past couple of days, Cyclizar felt somewhat embarrassed, but then remembered that everyone was concerned about him and summoned his courage to walk over to them.

Naoki washed the dishes alone.

Sister Indeedee noticed the scene, approached to ask if he needed help.

Naoki shook his head: ”No need, you all should take a rest! I’ve got all the chores covered today.”

The Indeedee Sibling work every day for everyone, cleaning, sorting chores, helping feed, all work laboriously.

Naoki intended to let them take a break, he would handle today’s chores himself.

The Indeedee Sibling felt Naoki’s intentions deeply, and they were very pleased inside.

Although it was their job, being cared for and understood by their owner makes them among the most fortunate among all Indeedee in the world.

Sister Indeedee happily ran to the room to rest, but Brother Indeedee stayed, looking out to see if Naoki needed any help.

And Naoki’s thoughts turned to Koraidon.

Today, Koraidon’s behavior was really unexpected.

Because it actually comforted Cyclizar!

Although he didn’t know exactly what the two Pokemon talked about, Naoki could feel that after speaking with Koraidon, Cyclizar’s mood was not as bad as it was initially.
