Not Being a Trainer This Time

As he spoke, Naoki placed the small bucket by the riverside.

The two Chewtle were forced to release their mouths, looking around before swimming into the lake and disappearing from sight.

The three Tatsugiri remained in the small bucket, jumping a bit, while Slowpoke continued to daydream.

It seemed these Pokemon had no intention of leaving.

If that’s the case, he might as well take them back to live on the World Tree.

With this thought, Naoki turned his gaze to Milotic.

He took out his Rotom Phone from his pocket, asking the Rotom inside for translation help.

”Milotic, do you also plan to follow me?”

”Muuu~” Milotic gently nodded.

Naoki was even more surprised.

He asked curiously, ”Why did you choose me?”

Milotic: ”Muuu~”

Rotom helped translate: ”Milotic said [because you have a nice smell] Roto!”

Huh? What smell?

Naoki hurriedly lowered his head to sniff himself, but he didn’t smell anything.

”What do you mean?” he asked.

Milotic hesitantly described, ”Muuu...” (A bit like the wind, and somewhat like green leaves, muu, I don’t know how to say...)

Naoki felt a bit lost.

But soon, a bold guess popped into his mind.

Could it be that the scent Milotic detected is from the World Tree?

Moreover, he had eaten dishes prepared with the leaves of the World Tree before... So, could this Milotic have willingly chosen him because of this reason?

Is the attraction of the World Tree really that strong for ordinary Pokemon?

Naoki truly hadn’t anticipated this situation.

He recalled the reactions Zapdos and Calyrex had upon seeing the World Tree, and felt he found the answer.

It seemed the natural ambiance of the World Tree was indeed highly favored by Pokemon.

After a brief pondering, Naoki asked again, ”So, do you want to go back with me?”

Milotic gladly nodded.

The fishing contest had ended, and people were gradually dispersing.

Naoki put Milotic into the Poke Ball, then picked up Slowpoke, grabbed the bucket containing the Tatsugiri, and returned to the ranch.

Upon arrival, he went directly to the World Tree, reaching the lake on its top floor.

”Come out, Milotic!”

With a flash of white light, Milotic’s figure landed in the lake water.

Feeling the even denser natural aura around, Milotic was full of wonder.

Then, Naoki released the three Tatsugiri and the Slowpoke.

Milotic, with a gentle personality, disliked fighting.

The Tatsugiri were weak in strength, rarely provoking other Pokemon.

And Slowpoke, true to its name, spent the whole day dazing by the shore, contemplating life.

These Pokemon wouldn’t likely cause conflicts with others, and should easily become friends with the Heroic Expedition Team.

Moreover, Milotic and the Tatsugiri could even help with watering the crops at the World Tree.

”This is inside the World Tree,” Naoki introduced to the Pokemon before him, ”I plan to build an Explorer Team Guild here where all Pokemon can coexist harmoniously and help one another. You’re welcome to join!”

The Tatsugiri poked their heads out of the water, and Milotic blinked its eyes.

They seemed very curious about the so-called Explorer Team Guild.

Naoki smiled, then called over Arboliva, saying, ”Arboliva, these Pokemon are new companions, I’ll leave the introduction of this place to you.”

Arboliva happily agreed.

As there was still work to be done on the ranch, Naoki left for now.

After Naoki departed, Arboliva gently introduced the new companions to the surroundings of the World Tree.

This included the Heroic Expedition Team, the Explorer Team Guild, the Pokemon Restaurant, and the Pokemon Fruit Garden and Farmland.

Soon, the Treecko were also drawn over.

They curiously observed the new companions.

Arboliva continued introducing, ”Li~Li!” (Once this place is built, everyone will live happily together~ The Treecko want to work as waiters in the café. If any of you are interested in jobs, you can help too!)

The Tatsugiri bounced excitedly on the spot.

They said, ”Mi!” (We want to be the sushi shop owners!)

Milotic’s eyes sparkled, finding this place wonderful since it doesn’t like conflicts!

”Muuu!” (Then I’ll help with the watering!) Milotic said.

Arboliva nodded gently, speaking kindly: ”Li~” (From now on, we’re companions, let’s look after each other~)

As for Slowpoke, it continued dazing by the bank.
