900 Chapter 900 442: As If an Old Friend Returns 2026-11-03

Ten minutes, huh? Naoki calculated in his mind that there might still be time to catch one last fish.

Just then, there was some commotion from Sato Ken’s side.

On the water’s surface, violent whirlpools appeared, as if some gigantic creature was struggling frantically.

A big catch!

Sato Ken felt the power coming from the fishing rod and his expression suddenly turned serious.

He exerted his arm forcefully, stabilizing the rod to prevent the fish from breaking free.

He then started reeling it in continuously, and when it was close enough, Sato Ken pulled with all his might.

The next moment, a massive Dondozo leaped high out of the lake.

Its figure blocked out the sun, casting Sato Ken in its shadow.

”Another Dondozo!” The onlookers widened their eyes.

”This is already the eighth contestant today to catch a Dondozo! Unfortunately, all the previous ones failed. I wonder if Mr. Sato Ken can succeed.”

”His chances are high, after all, Mr. Sato Ken once conquered a wild Gyarados!”

Amid the crowd’s discussions, Sato Ken’s expression remained tense.

Clearly, he couldn’t afford to be careless against this powerful Dondozo.

The Dondozo eventually landed on the riverside ground, angrily scanning its surroundings before opening its mouth to unleash a Water Gun attack right at its originator.

The stream of water condensed into a water column and shot out at high speed.

Fortunately, Sato Ken anticipated this and quickly sidestepped to dodge.

Taking advantage of the Dondozo’s attack interval, Sato Ken swiftly stepped forward, climbed onto Dondozo’s back, and grabbed its long catfish whiskers tightly, pressing it firmly underneath him.

With its whiskers restricted and stimulated, the Dondozo started thrashing wildly on the spot.

However, being on land instead of water, the Dondozo, naturally at a disadvantage, couldn’t fully exert its power.

The Dondozo struggled while Sato Ken held it down firmly.

The man and the Pokemon soon fell into a stalemate.

What followed was a test of endurance between the two, to see who would hold out longer.

Naoki was left gawking at the scene.

Is this how fishing is done? How did it turn into a battle with the fish?

Then again, the physical prowess of people in the Pokemon World is quite impressive!

As time ticked by, the Dondozo’s struggles weakened until it finally lay exhausted on the grassy ground, panting heavily.

It seemed to have admitted defeat to the human...

Seeing this, Sato Ken knew he had succeeded.

He breathed a sigh of relief, took out a new Poke Ball, and captured the Dondozo with it.

Perhaps due to Dondozo’s exhaustion, the Poke Ball only shook a few times before settling down.

”Clap, clap, clap!”

The nervous onlookers by the shore broke into applause.

”As expected of Mr. Sato Ken!”

”Amazing! He actually subdued the Dondozo!”

Naoki was also greatly impressed by him. If he were to climb onto a Pokemon’s back to subdue it like that, he couldn’t do it.

There’s still a little over a minute before the competition ends; such a short time is unlikely to be enough to catch another fish.

Moreover, since someone has already caught a Dondozo, others figured they had no chance of winning, so they began to pack up their rods and prepare for the judging later.

Naoki also planned to do the same, but just then, the float on the water’s surface suddenly bobbed again.

This means another fish has taken the bait!

Naoki was slightly taken aback, but his hands instinctively moved to action.

With the sound of splashing, a slender figure leaped from the lake surface.

Droplets of water scattered from it, and under the sunlight, they refracted into a beautiful rainbow-like glow.

This unexpected development immediately caught everyone’s attention around.

As soon as people saw clearly the silhouette that was pulled up, they jumped up in shock, lifting their heads with astonishment, their gaze incredulously fixed on that Pokemon.

It was a slender-bodied Pokemon with a creamy-colored body, eyes like enchanting rubies, and scales of blue and pink covering its body.

Its appearance was exceedingly beautiful, the scales shimmering under the sunlight, and its streamlined slender body looked so graceful and captivating.

”Muuu~”

With a melodious cry, that Pokemon broke free from the hook and returned to the lake.

”Milotic...” Sato Ken dazedly uttered the name of that Pokemon.

For every angler, Milotic is like a dreamlike presence of a Pokemon.

Because they are just too rare.

”Naoki, quickly catch it!” Sato Ken hurriedly shouted to remind him.

The stunned Naoki snapped back to his senses, overwhelmed by the Milotic.

Capture it? How should he capture it?

Should he really climb onto Milotic and hold it down like before?

No matter! Just throw the ball directly!

Naoki gritted his teeth and forcefully threw the Poke Ball in his hand.

The next second, the Poke Ball hit Milotic, whose body transformed into a red stream of light, getting absorbed into the Poke Ball.

”Buzz—buzz!”

The Poke Ball, lying on the lake surface, began shaking incessantly.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

Everyone held their breath, tensely watching the scene unfold.

Naoki didn’t hold much hope for capturing Milotic with a single throw.

Because no matter how he thought about it, it seemed impossible; he’s not a prodigy at capturing Pokemon with one ball, nor does he have any bond with Milotic, as they are still strangers to each other.
