Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

The motorcycle man was terrified of dying. He immediately nodded and said, ”No problem! As long as you don’t kill us, I’ll take you to Deadly Island. I’ll lead you right to our bosses, Hong Ju and Zhou Xiaoer...”

With that, the motorcycle man led Zhao Rong and his group away. Under his guidance, they passed through a massive film studio. It was only after Zhao Rong, his assistant, and the three women left the vast studio that they finally understood what had happened. The sudden ’time travel’ they thought they’d experienced on their yacht was nothing of the sort. They hadn’t traveled through time at all; they had merely entered a magnificent film studio. The set was just constructed with such realism that they had failed to see it for what it was, believing they had been transported to a different era.

Upon exiting the studio, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but exclaim, ”Hong Ju and Zhou Xiaoer must have spent a fortune! To think they built such a huge artificial island out at sea and turned it into a film studio named Deadly Island...”

Hearing this, the assistant beside Zhao Rong finally put the pieces together. So there really is an island called Deadly Island on the map... It’s just an artificial one that Hong Ju and Zhou Xiaoer built through land reclamation and then converted into a film studio. However, a nagging question suddenly resurfaced in his mind. He turned to the motorcycle man and asked, ”Okay, I’ve figured out most of the illusions, but there’s one thing I don’t get. Our boss, Zhao Rong, bought a time locator from the Paradise Shopping Cart app. He used it to confirm that we were in the Cretaceous period. Obviously, that device was a fake... But how did you manage to manipulate something from the Paradise Shopping Cart? The app is always reliable.”

Before the motorcycle man could explain, Zhao Rong interjected, ”Assistant, there’s something you don’t know. Everything from the Paradise Shopping Cart is real, including the time locator. I was just playing along with these criminals, using their own scheme against them to make them think we had fallen for their trap. I pretended to set the time locator to the Cretaceous period and then told you we had time-traveled. It was all an act to fool them completely.”

Hearing this, the assistant gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up, his face full of admiration. ”Boss Zhao Rong, you’re a true hero! I had no idea you were so patient... or such a convincing actor.”

When the motorcycle man heard that Zhao Rong had tricked them, he slapped his own face in frustration. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re an incredible actor...” he said helplessly. ”What I admire most is how you could act so indifferently, so expressionlessly, that we believed everything was real. You perfectly executed the ’mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind’ scenario, catching all of us in one fell swoop.”

As it turned out, from the moment Zhao Rong’s group set foot on Deadly Island, the criminals had been live-streaming their every move using cameras hidden everywhere. Zhao Rong’s performance was therefore crucial; he couldn’t afford a single slip-up. If he did, the villains watching the surveillance feeds would have immediately noticed something was wrong, and his plan to lure them in and capture them all would have failed.

Just then, Zhao Rong picked up a stone and casually tossed it into the air, knocking a camera out of the sky. As the device clattered to the ground, his assistant exclaimed in surprise, ”Boss Zhao Rong, where did that come from?”

Before the assistant could finish, Zhao Rong picked up another stone and tossed it upwards, bringing down a second camera. He picked up one of the fallen devices, which was made of a transparent material, and explained to his assistant, ”You wouldn’t know about these. They’re called high-altitude transparent cameras. When they’re in the air, they become completely transparent and blend in with their surroundings. But once they fall to the ground, they become semi-opaque. We’ve been live-streamed by these things ever since we set foot on Deadly Island. This gang of criminals has been watching our every move.”

When the three women beside Zhao Rong heard this, they too picked up stones and, mimicking Zhao Rong, hurled them into the sky. Sure enough, three more cameras came crashing down.

At the same time, Zhao Rong retrieved the Dinosaur Destroyer Gun from his Magic Ring. Holding the weapon, he fired wildly into the sky. Suddenly, a massive screen overhead shattered and fell, revealing the true sky beyond it. It turned out that even after leaving the first film studio, they had unknowingly walked right into another, even larger, man-made one. The ’sky’ here was just a giant screen, and the space above it was filled with those transparent cameras.

After destroying this final set with the Dinosaur Destroyer Gun, Zhao Rong abruptly turned the weapon on the motorcycle man and fired.

When the assistant saw Zhao Rong kill the motorcycle man, he cried out in confusion, ”Boss Zhao Rong, if you kill him with the Dinosaur Destroyer Gun, who’s going to lead us to Zhou Xiaoer and Hong Ju on Deadly Island?”

Before his assistant could finish, Zhao Rong ripped open the dead man’s jacket, pulled out a time bomb hidden inside, and hurled it into the nearby sea. The instant the bomb hit the water, it detonated in a massive explosion, sending a plume of seawater high into the air that rained down on the group.

It turned out the motorcycle man had been so compliant only because he had a bomb strapped to him. His plan was to gain their trust before blowing them all up together.

With the motorcycle man dealt with, Zhao Rong opened his Magic Ring and dragged out the skinny man he had knocked out earlier. As soon as the skinny man regained consciousness, Zhao Rong searched him thoroughly. Once he confirmed the man had no weapons or bombs, he pointed the Dinosaur Destroyer Gun at him and said, ”Skinny man, you’re going to take us to Hong Ju and Zhou Xiaoer on Deadly Island right now. Otherwise, I’ll blast you with this gun.”
