Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Just as Zhao Rong signed for the package, he finished his phone call. While thanking the courier, he asked, ”Buddy, your delivery method is... pretty unique, huh?”

The Tomb Robber courier chuckled. ”These days, I do whatever makes money...”

Zhao Rong tried to reason with him. ”Listen, man, there’s a right way and a wrong way to make a living. Tomb robbing is illegal. I’m just saying, once you get out of prison, you should stick to being a courier. Don’t go back to this life.”

Hearing this, the Tomb Robber courier retorted defensively, ”What’s wrong with tomb robbing? I’m just earning a little money to give my wife and kids a better life. Is that so wrong?”

With the best intentions, Zhao Rong pressed on, ”I’m just advising you to find a legitimate profession. You should stop this illegal tomb robbing...”

Before Zhao Rong could finish, the Tomb Robber courier suddenly snapped his fingers. ”Brothers, get out here! Someone dares to mock us couriers of the Ancient Tomb Sect!”

To Zhao Rong’s astonishment, the once-desolate graveyard was suddenly filled with activity. From the tombs scattered in all directions, over a dozen Tomb Robbers crawled out. Staring at the uniformly dressed group, he said in disbelief, ”Oh my god... I’ve heard of tomb robbers, and I’ve seen them in TV shows, but I never thought I’d meet them in real life...”

After the mob of Tomb Robbers approached, their leader pointed at Zhao Rong’s nose and declared, ”We may be Tomb Robbers, but we also deliver packages part-time. Therefore, we call ourselves the couriers of the Ancient Tomb Sect!”

Looking at the dozen or so men before him, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but shake his head. I originally called the police on a single Tomb Robber, but I never expected a dozen more to show up...

He quickly composed another text message and quietly sent it to the police. ”Officer, update on my previous call. When you drive to the cemetery, you’d better bring a bus. There are way more of them than I thought. A single squad car won’t be enough to haul them all away.”

Just as he was sending the message, one of the Tomb Robbers spotted him and yelled, ”Shit, he’s calling the cops! Quick, snatch his phone and smash it!”

When the leader heard that Zhao Rong had called the police, he furiously snatched a Luoyang shovel from the ground, aimed it at him, and snarled, ”You little brat, you dare call the cops and ruin my livelihood? I’ll take your life with this shovel!”

The other Tomb Robbers behind him also raised their Luoyang shovels and charged. Faced with the sudden onslaught, Zhao Rong pushed the beautiful Wang Guihua to one side and warned them, ”I don’t want to fight today. You’d better not provoke me.”

The leader, burning with rage, shouted, ”We have to get rid of you! Otherwise, you’ll go blabbing to everyone, or worse, complain about us on the Paradise Shopping Cart website! We’d be out of a job!”

After speaking, the leader sized Zhao Rong up. This kid looks so skinny and weak. He’s got to be a total amateur. One swing of my Luoyang shovel and he’s dead...

The other Tomb Robbers began whispering amongst themselves. ”This guy dared to expose the true identity of the Ancient Tomb Sect couriers! We have to teach him a lesson. Better yet, kill him and silence him for good. That way, our secret will be safe! He looks so frail. Let’s just finish him off with our shovels right here and bury him in an old tomb. He’ll vanish from the face of the earth without a trace. Yeah, kill him! We have to kill him!”

With that, the group of Tomb Robbers, wielding their Luoyang shovels, rushed at Zhao Rong once more.

Instead of striking first, Zhao Rong executed an elusive footwork technique, deftly weaving between their dozen shovel swings. After swinging their shovels repeatedly and failing to even touch him, the Tomb Robbers were exhausted, panting and wiping cold sweat from their brows.

Catching his breath, the leader grumbled, ”I didn’t expect this kid to have a few tricks up his sleeve.”

”So what if he does?” another robber added. ”We have weapons and he doesn’t. We’ll get him eventually!”

”The boss is right!” another urged. ”We have Luoyang shovels, and he’s bare-handed. Let’s finish him now!”

Saying this, the dozen Tomb Robbers charged at Zhao Rong again.

Confronted with their relentless arrogance, Zhao Rong could bear it no longer. He immediately drew his Longsword from the Magic Ring. With just a few effortless swings, he sliced the Luoyang shovels in their hands clean in half.

When the group of Tomb Robbers saw Zhao Rong, who had been empty-handed just moments before, suddenly brandish a longsword, they were all struck dumb.

The leader’s eyes went wide as he stared at the weapon in Zhao Rong’s hand. ”No way... Is he a magician? How else could he conjure a longsword out of thin air?”

A few others added in disbelief, ”The guy must have Special Abilities! Otherwise, there’s no way his sword could cut through iron like mud...”

Before they could finish, Zhao Rong lunged forward and, in a few swift moves, took down all dozen of them. He then pulled a rope from his Magic Ring and tied them all up.

After dealing with the Tomb Robbers, Zhao Rong wiped the sweat from his brow and began to open his package. Inside, something resembling a skateboard appeared before him. While pressing a button on the device, he spoke to Miss Lili on his WeChat video call.

”Miss Lili, to prove my innocence, I bought this Scenario Replay Display from the Paradise Shopping Cart. I’m going to show you the video of me rescuing Wang Guihua, and then you’ll understand everything.”

As he spoke, he began operating the Scenario Replay Display. Sure enough, it began to play events from Zhao Rong’s recent past. However, to his surprise, it didn’t show him rescuing Wang Guihua or fighting the rideshare driver. Instead, it instantly played the scene of him embracing and passionately kissing her.

Horrified, Zhao Rong slammed a button, rebooted the device, and played the next recording. To his dismay, the display now started showing a clip of him in the dormitory bathroom... doing *that* activity. Before Lili could get a clear look, he frantically rebooted the Scenario Replay Display yet again.

This time, Zhao Rong took a moment to carefully study the instruction manual. He soon found the solution: he had to input a specific time. After he entered the correct timestamp, the device finally began to play the proper footage, showing how he had rescued Wang Guihua and fought off the rideshare driver.

Seeing it all for herself, Lili realized she had completely misunderstood. Filled with guilt, she apologized profusely. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I was so wrong about you. I’m truly sorry...”

Seeing that Lili had forgiven him, Zhao Rong let out a long sigh of relief, a great weight lifted from his chest. ”It’s alright. Glad we cleared it up.”

”Brother Zhao Rong,” Lili said through the video feed, ”I’m coming to see you now.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong quickly tried to stop her. ”Miss Lili, don’t come here! I just realized this place is a graveyard! It’s not just gloomy and haunted, there are also tomb robbers!” He panned his phone’s camera to show her the dozen men tied up on the ground.

But before he could finish, Lili appeared in the passenger seat of a police car, a smile on her face. ”Don’t worry, Brother Zhao Rong. I’m on my way to you in a police car right now.”

At the same time, the officer driving the car got on the line with Zhao Rong. ”Hello, are you Mr. Zhao Rong, the brave citizen who reported and apprehended the tomb robbers?”

Zhao Rong nodded. ”Yes, Officer, I’m the one who called you about them.”

”That’s great!” the officer said enthusiastically. ”We were having trouble pinpointing your location. Luckily, with the help of this young lady, we were able to find you.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong asked Lili, puzzled, ”Miss Lili, how did you find me?”

She held up a small device. ”Brother Zhao Rong, did you forget? You once bought a Divine Artifact from the Paradise Shopping Cart—the DNA Locator. As long as you have this device and the DNA of the person you’re looking for, you can find their exact location.”

Zhao Rong gave her a thumbs-up. ”Women really are more observant. I completely forgot I even had that thing.”

After ending the video call, he sat next to Wang Guihua, enjoying the cool breeze, sipping champagne, and flirting. As the mood deepened, a feeling came over him. He looked at the beautiful Wang Guihua and said, ”Since Lili and the police will be a while, why don’t we seize this opportunity and... kiss until the world spins?”

Upon hearing this, Wang Guihua slowly closed her eyes, waiting for his lips to meet hers.
