Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 487: Chapter 448: Skull Restorer

After the cannibal chief had taken two steps, he suddenly stopped again. He spun around, pointed at the cannibals lying on the ground entangled in nets, and said to Zhao Rong, ”This is all that’s left of my tribe. If you leave them all tied up, then you’ll see no one else when you visit our home...”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong realized he had forgotten to release the other members of the cannibal tribe. He immediately recalled the nets and said to the men on the ground, ”Get up. You’re all free now.”

When the cannibal chief saw all his tribe members get up from the ground, he announced, ”As the leader of our tribe, I’m telling you now, from this day forward, we will no longer eat humans. We will grow crops instead!” Listening to their chief’s words, all the cannibals cheered, accepting his declaration.

The entire cannibal tribe walked ahead while Zhao Rong and his companions followed behind. After trekking for about five or six hours across mountains and through rivers, they finally reached the cannibal tribe’s territory.

When Zhao Rong arrived, he was surprised to see only three or four cannibal women. He asked the chief, ”There’s a serious gender imbalance in your tribe, isn’t there? Why are there only three or four women for dozens of men?”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s question, the cannibal chief wiped away his tears and said sadly, ”People from the future, you don’t know. Not far from our tribe, there’s another tribe... The people of that tribe are extremely savage. They often come to kill our men and steal our women and food.”

Zhao Rong was taken aback. He then asked, ”Do the people of that tribe look the same as you?”

The cannibal chief shook his head and, pointing at a skull nearby, said, ”The people of that tribe look very strange. Not only are they tall and incredibly strong, but they also run unbelievably fast.”

Zhao Rong became extremely interested in the skull. He immediately took out his phone, opened the Paradise Shopping Cart app, and bought a skull restoration device. As soon as he received the package, he opened it and began to reconstruct the face of the skull before him. The device was very effective; in about three minutes, it had completely restored the skull’s original face. Upon seeing the result, Zhao Rong exclaimed in surprise, ”Holy cow, the people from that tribe are Neanderthals, an extinct species!”

Hearing the word ”Neanderthals,” his assistant recalled a BBC documentary she had seen. ”Weren’t Neanderthals supposed to live in Europe? How did they suddenly appear on this island?”

Zhao Rong, also puzzled, said, ”I can’t figure that out either.”

Lili thought for a moment and offered, ”Perhaps it’s possible that when archaeologists were excavating, they only discovered the Neanderthals in Europe and never found the ones here.”

At that moment, Zhao Rong suddenly remembered the mysteries that had been nagging him. The first mystery: why did ships and people arriving near the island mysteriously disappear? It turned out they hadn’t disappeared; they had been instantaneously transported through time and space from this specific area back to the Cretaceous period. The second mystery: why had they previously seen so many human skeletons inside the monster’s stomach while they were in the escape sphere in the ocean trench? It turned out this monster would climb onto the island to eat the primitive people and Neanderthals, along with various other unidentifiable types of humans. The third mystery: why did people arriving near the island mysteriously travel through time?

There must be some specific kind of spatio-temporal black hole nearby. It transcends the definitions of time and space, allowing anyone who enters this area to pass through a time hole, traveling from 2018 to the Cretaceous period...

Just as Zhao Rong was lost in his wild speculation, he saw the cannibal tribe erupt into chaos. The tribesmen were running and shouting, ”It’s terrible! The Neanderthals are attacking! They’ve come to kill our men and steal our women and food again!”

The cannibal chief rushed over. He grabbed Zhao Rong’s hand and pleaded, ”People from the future, you must run with me! If you fall into the hands of these Neanderthals... the men will surely be killed, and the women will be dragged into their caves and used as tools to bear their children!”

But when Zhao Rong saw that the Neanderthals dared to slaughter the ancestors of humankind, he immediately took the Dinosaur Exterminator Gun from his Magic Ring. He then comforted the cannibal chief, ”Chief, don’t be afraid. With me, Zhao Rong, here, I guarantee these Neanderthals won’t dare to lay a finger on any of you.”

When the cannibals heard Zhao Rong’s words, they all gathered behind him, looking terrified at the Neanderthals charging down from the hillside. As the group of Neanderthals charged down, they were surprised to see that the humans weren’t fleeing. They roared with laughter and jeered, ”Humans, you aren’t running? Did you stay behind for us, the mighty Neanderthals, to kill you one by one?” At these words, the hundred-odd Neanderthals standing nearby all burst into laughter.

Standing next to Zhao Rong, Lili looked at the strangely-featured Neanderthals and asked, ”Brother Zhao Rong, are these Neanderthals you’re talking about also our ancestors?”

Zhao Rong shook his head. ”I’ve seen a BBC documentary. Neanderthals are a distinct hominid species, but they aren’t our direct ancestors. In the course of evolution, our own species completely wiped them out.”

Hearing this, Lili looked at the group of Neanderthals opposite them and asked, ”Brother Zhao Rong, so how do you plan to deal with them?”

Before Zhao Rong could reply, the group of Neanderthals, wielding stone tools, charged forward, chanting, ”Kill all humans! Seize the women! Take the food! Kill all humans!”

When Zhao Rong heard that this group of Neanderthals wanted to exterminate the humans, he immediately made his decision. He said to Lili, ”Since this band of Neanderthals wants to wipe out our ancestors, we have no choice but to kill all of them. Otherwise, if our ancestors are killed by this group, we might not exist.”

Saying this, Zhao Rong aimed the Dinosaur Exterminator Gun in his hand at the charging Neanderthals.
