Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Zhao Rong pulled a dung beetle from his pocket and showed it to everyone. ”It was this little thing that helped us defeat Hong Ju and his gang, and then it flash-banged them.”

When everyone saw that the object in Zhao Rong’s hand was a small insect—a dung beetle no less—they were stunned speechless.

The Chairman and Wang Xiaopeng got up from the floor. They stared at the dung beetle in Zhao Rong’s hand, gagged twice, and said, ”Zhao Rong, as the top bodyguard in Xijing City, why would you carry such a disgusting insect in your pocket?”

Hearing their misunderstanding, Zhao Rong immediately explained, ”Chairman, Wang Xiaopeng, what you don’t know is that this insect, while it might look like an insignificant and even disgusting little bug, is actually an alien species called a Dung Beetle Miniature Bomb.”

Hearing this, the Chairman and Wang Xiaopeng exchanged a look before giving Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Zhao Rong, you’re incredible! You always manage to catch your opponents off guard and achieve a complete victory.”

Meanwhile, the assistant grew fascinated by the Dung Beetle Miniature Bomb in Zhao Rong’s hand. He stepped forward, examining the object closely, and asked, ”Brother Zhao Rong, where did you get such an advanced Miniature Bomb? It’s completely indefensible and totally unexpected.”

Zhao Rong pulled his phone out of his pocket, opened the Paradise Shopping Cart app, and said to the assistant, ”Where else? I bought it from the Paradise Shopping Cart, of course.”

Curious about the delivery, the assistant asked, ”Brother, at such a critical moment, how did you get a delivery company to bring you this Dung Beetle Miniature Bomb?”

Zhao Rong chuckled and pointed to a few other dung beetles crawling on the ground nearby. ”Those dung beetles delivered the Miniature Bomb to me.”

The assistant gave Zhao Rong another thumbs-up. ”Brother, you’re truly amazing. I admire not only your imagination but also your quick thinking under pressure and your ability to defeat the enemy in a single blow.”

It turned out that as soon as Zhao Rong had gotten the Dung Beetle Miniature Bomb, he had the other beetles on the ground stealthily place it inside the barrel of Hong Ju’s gun. When Hong Ju pulled the trigger, the fired bullet struck the Miniature Bomb, causing the flash explosion.

When the beautiful women heard Zhao Rong’s explanation, they immediately praised him. ”Brother Zhao Rong, that Miniature Bomb you chose is so powerful! No one would ever think a dung beetle could be an explosive.” As they spoke, they cast admiring glances at Zhao Rong.

Zhao Rong then walked toward the horribly disfigured Hong Ju and his son. When he reached them, he saw a barely-breathing Hong Ju say, ”Even though you’ve killed me, I’ve already had my men transport the Chairman and Wang Xiaopeng’s gold reserves to Deadly Island. Without that gold, just you wait for their companies to go bankrupt...”

With those final words, Hong Ju died. At the same instant, his son, Zhou Xiaoer, also slowly closed his eyes and stopped breathing.

Just as Zhao Rong, the assistant, and the three women were cheering their victory over the villains, they heard the Chairman say with regret, ”If we had known Zhao Rong could rescue us so quickly, we would have never handed over the gold reserves. Now that despicable Hong Ju has sent all our reserve gold to Deadly Island... I don’t know what we’re going to do.”

Wang Xiaopeng lamented as well, ”That’s so much gold. It was our company’s entire assets... Without that gold as hard currency, our company will be vulnerable, and we’ll very likely go bankrupt.”

When Zhao Rong saw the dismayed looks on their faces, he eagerly volunteered, ”Chairman, Wang Xiaopeng, please don’t be disheartened. I, Zhao Rong, can go to Deadly Island and retrieve all that gold for you.”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s offer, the Chairman’s eyes lit up. He stepped forward, grabbed Zhao Rong’s hands, and said excitedly, ”Zhao Rong, if you’re willing to go to Deadly Island and bring back those gold reserves, I will give you a third of the gold as a reward!”

Zhao Rong was stunned, knowing the Chairman’s gold reserves were an astronomical sum. Forget a third of it—even one percent would be enough to make me one of the wealthiest people in this city.

So, Zhao Rong nodded in agreement. ”Chairman, didn’t you give me a private yacht? I can take it with my assistant, sail to Deadly Island, find your gold, and bring every last piece back to you, completely intact.”

Wang Xiaopeng, standing nearby, was also moved by Zhao Rong’s proposal. He immediately took a bank card from his pocket and handed it to Zhao Rong. ”Take this bank card. It has ten million US dollars on it. Consider it funding for your sea voyage.” As he spoke, Wang Xiaopeng handed Zhao Rong a map.

The Chairman then stepped forward and pointed to an island on the map so tiny it was invisible to the naked eye. ”This small island is called Deadly Island. During the day, it’s just open ocean. But at night, when the tide recedes, the island appears. All the gold belonging to me and Magnate Wang is hidden on that island.”

When Zhao Rong heard the island only appeared at night, his curiosity grew. He took out his phone, scanned and uploaded the map, then pinpointed the island’s location using both GPRS and Beidou dual positioning.

He said to the Chairman, ”Chairman, I have the island’s location. My assistant and I can take the private yacht out to sea now and find it.”

The Chairman and Wang Xiaopeng opened a bottle of Maotai liquor to give Zhao Rong a farewell toast. ”Brother Zhao Rong, we hope you succeed and, more importantly, come back alive.”

Zhao Rong took the Maotai, downed it in one gulp, and asked in surprise, ”Is Deadly Island that dangerous? Why else would you tell me to come back alive?”

The Chairman sighed, wiped a tear from his eye, and said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, what you may not know is that Deadly Island is called Xijing City’s number one island of death. To this day, not a single person who has set foot on Deadly Island has ever returned alive.”
