Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 350: Chapter 312 Hand in Hand, Eyes Closed

After Zhao Rong purchased an Odor Locator online, he immediately said to the three women, ”The package might have already arrived at the dorm. Let’s hurry back and check.”

When they heard the package could have arrived instantly, Lili said in disbelief, ”Brother Zhao Rong, even if delivery is fast, it should take at least two or three minutes, right? How could it be delivered the moment you bought it?”

Zhao Rong pointed to the logistics information on his phone. ”But the app’s tracking shows it has already been delivered.”

Half-convinced, the three women followed Zhao Rong back to their dorm. Sure enough, a package was sitting right at the door, leaving them all stunned.

Lili picked up the package, still in disbelief. ”How did it get here so fast? This is incredible!”

Yu Lan curiously asked, ”Brother Zhao Rong, can you tell me what kind of delivery method the seller used to get it here at lightning speed?”

So, Zhao Rong immediately contacted the seller to ask. Suddenly, a window in the building opposite them opened. A young man waved at Zhao Rong and shouted, ”There’s a wire that runs from my dorm to your hallway! I just clipped the package onto it and slid it down to your door.”

When the three women realized the seller of the Odor Locator actually lived in the dorm building across from them, they were so shocked they nearly fell over.

Xuelian, picking herself up, said, ”I thought the seller was miles away using some high-tech delivery method. Turns out, he’s right across the way using the most primitive method imaginable.”

Zhao Rong wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. ”My goodness, I never thought the seller would be so close.”

With a final wave of thanks to the man, Zhao Rong took the package and headed into the dorm with the three women.

Once inside the dorm, Zhao Rong immediately took out the Odor Locator. He placed the device inside his assistant’s wardrobe for a moment and then quickly took it out again. The device’s night-vision display screen lit up with a map, showing a red dot that marked the location where the assistant was being held. To their surprise, the red dot was moving rapidly across the map. Zhao Rong pulled a magnifying glass from his pocket, peered at the dot to gauge its speed, and said, ”If I’m not mistaken, the assistant is moving at a high speed of 350 kilometers per hour.”

Hearing ”350 kilometers per hour,” Lili immediately said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, does that mean the assistant is on a high-speed train, heading in an unknown direction?”

Zhao Rong nodded. ”It has to be a high-speed train. Nothing else moves at 350 kilometers per hour.”

Just as he was speaking, the red dot on the map suddenly stopped, fixing on a single location. Zhao Rong looked closely at the map and exclaimed in surprise, ”What in the world? Don’t tell me the kidnappers jumped off the train with the assistant. How else could they have stopped so suddenly in the middle of nowhere?”

Lili studied the location on the map. ”Jigong Mountain... where is that? Is it far from here?”

Hearing the name, Yu Lan immediately opened the Amap app on her phone, entered ”Jigong Mountain,” and tapped for directions. The map showed that Jigong Mountain was 200 kilometers from Xijing City; it was not only remote but also at a very high altitude.

Zhao Rong looked at the map on Yu Lan’s phone, thought for a moment, and said, ”Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, come here. Let’s all join hands and close our eyes.”

Xuelian immediately stepped forward, took his hand, and asked curiously, ”Brother Zhao Rong, are you going to use Instant Teleportation?”

Zhao Rong nodded. ”We need to get to Jigong Mountain as fast as possible. Without Instant Teleportation, it’ll be difficult to get there. The Odor Locator is only effective for a limited time, so we have to hurry.”

As the women joined hands with Zhao Rong and closed their eyes, he initiated the Instant Teleportation. But to his disappointment, the first attempt failed.

Lili let go of his hand, suggesting, ”Brother Zhao Rong, did it fail because there are too many people?”

Zhao Rong wiped the sweat from his forehead. ”When I’ve used Instant Teleportation before, it was always just me. The most I’ve ever taken was Xuelian. Now, with four of us trying to go together, I think the strain might be too great.”

At this, Yu Lan also let go. Looking at Zhao Rong and Xuelian, she said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, since you and Xuelian have successfully used it to reach a precise destination before, Lili and I will stay behind. You two go to Jigong Mountain and rescue the assistant.”

Despite the two women stepping back, Zhao Rong remained determined. ”It’s alright, come back. I’ll try one last time. If it fails, the three of you stay here, and I’ll go rescue the assistant alone. If it succeeds, our team moves forward together.”

When Lili and Yu Lan saw the resolve in his eyes, they stepped forward, took his hands again, and closed their eyes.

This time, Zhao Rong focused his mind completely, gathering all his True Qi in his abdomen. Then, he unleashed his Special Abilities, activating the Instant Teleportation with all his might. In the blink of an eye, it was over. When the three women and Zhao Rong opened their eyes, they found themselves standing in a tropical rainforest.

Staring at the lush jungle, Lili furrowed her brow. ”Brother Zhao Rong, did we teleport to the wrong place? Jigong Mountain is supposed to be in a temperate zone. Why is there a tropical rainforest here?”

In contrast to Lili’s confusion, Yu Lan was relishing the magical experience. ”Oh my goodness, Brother Zhao Rong, this is incredible!” she said in disbelief. ”To travel from one place to another in an instant... it’s like something out of science fiction!”

Meanwhile, Xuelian glanced from the rainforest to a nearby mountain peak and observed, ”So, Jigong Mountain must have a complex geographical environment that incorporates tropical, subtropical, temperate, and even cold climates.”

Zhao Rong, who had opened a satellite positioning app on his phone, confirmed her theory. ”No mistake, we’ve arrived at Jigong Mountain. It has a tropical rainforest, temperate deciduous forests, and even a Cold Taiga.”

Hearing this, Lili looked around at the vast landscape. The task felt as daunting as finding a needle in a haystack. ”Brother Zhao Rong, even if we’re on Jigong Mountain, it’s enormous and the forest is so dense. Where do we even start looking for the assistant?”

Hearing her concern, Zhao Rong pulled the Odor Locator from his pocket. ”Are we still worried when we have this?” With that, he activated the device and began scanning for the assistant’s location.

Seeing him begin, Lili clasped her hands and prayed, ”Please, let Brother Zhao Rong find the assistant’s location on the first try...”

Xuelian added her own hopes, ”The heavens must guide Brother Zhao Rong. Otherwise, how could we possibly find the assistant in a place this big?”

Unlike Lili and Yu Lan’s nervous anticipation, Xuelian was fully confident. She patted his shoulder encouragingly. ”You’ve got this, Brother Zhao Rong. I know you can find him.”

Before Xuelian could even finish speaking, Zhao Rong pointed to the red dot on the map and exclaimed in shock, ”No way! The assistant... he’s within five meters of us!”

Hearing this, the three women immediately began scanning their surroundings. Suddenly, Lili pointed to something moving in a nearby tree. ”Brother Zhao Rong, look! That moving thing in the tree—it must be the assistant!”

Zhao Rong sighed. ”Lili, that’s just a monkey, not the assistant.”

Then, Yu Lan pointed to a rustling in the undergrowth. ”Brother Zhao Rong, look! The assistant must be hiding in those bushes!”

Zhao Rong stepped closer, his disappointment clear. ”Yu Lan, what you’re seeing is a porcupine, not the assistant.”

Finally, Xuelian pointed to a nearby cave. ”Brother Zhao Rong, look at this cave! It’s definitely within five meters of us. I think the kidnappers must be holding the assistant inside!”

Zhao Rong aimed the Odor Locator at the entrance. To his delight, the device beeped and a synthesized voice announced, ”Based on scent molecule dispersion, the target is located inside the cave.”

Hearing the confirmation, Zhao Rong shouted excitedly toward the entrance, ”Fantastic! We’ve finally found you, Assistant! Don’t be afraid, we’re coming in to get you!”

When the three women heard that the assistant was really inside the cave, they hugged each other joyfully.

”We searched high and low for you, and here you were all along!” Lili said excitedly. ”Assistant, you have no idea what we went through!”

Yu Lan wiped away tears of relief. ”Trying to find someone in this Primeval Forest is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Thank goodness we finally found you, Assistant.”

But Xuelian’s expression suddenly changed as she listened to the sounds from within the cave. ”Brother Zhao Rong, listen!” she said in surprise. ”There are people inside drinking and eating. And that sound... the finger-guessing game... it sounds like the assistant’s voice!”

Zhao Rong pricked up his ears and listened carefully. He was just as shocked. ”Xuelian, you’re right! That is the assistant’s voice... But wasn’t he kidnapped? Why is he in a cave drinking, eating, and playing a finger-guessing game so happily?”
