Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Zhao Rong looked at the man approaching them and asked Huang Xiaojuan, ”Who is that?”

Pointing to the tall, thin, and handsome man who radiated a sunny disposition, Huang Xiaojuan replied, ”He’s my male BFF. His name is Li Jiang.”

When Huang Xiaojuan’s male best friend, Li Jiang, walked up to them, Zhao Rong immediately felt that this person was a dead ringer for the post-plastic surgery Lu Xiaoqiang the chairman had described. First, the man was 1.8 meters tall with long, slim legs that bore the faint scars of bone-lengthening surgery. Second, he had fair skin and thin lips. Finally, his neck was exceptionally clean, without a single mole in sight. It was clear he had undergone dermabrasion and skin-whitening treatments on his neck.

Before Zhao Rong could say anything, Li Jiang extended his right hand and said, ”You must be Brother Zhao Rong. It’s a real pleasure to meet you.”

Zhao Rong shook his hand, surprised by the man’s incredibly strong grip. ”Hello, I’m Zhao Rong. The pleasure is all mine.”

Seeing that they had been introduced, Huang Xiaojuan immediately cut to the chase. ”Brother Zhao Rong, my male BFF Li Jiang actually came to ask you for a favor.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong asked curiously, ”A brand-new student like me? How could I possibly help an upperclassman like him?”

Huang Xiaojuan glanced toward the assistant, who was practicing Taekwondo not far away. ”My male BFF came here because he wants to meet the assistant, and he was hoping you could introduce them.”

Zhao Rong burst out laughing when he heard the handsome man wanted to meet the assistant. ”The assistant is so sociable. If you want to meet him, you can just go right up to him. Why go through me? Isn’t that a bit redundant?”

Huang Xiaojuan hesitated for a moment before saying, ”Well, Zhao Rong, it’s like this… my male BFF doesn’t just want to meet the assistant. He’s hoping to… take things a step further.”

”Take things a step further?” Zhao Rong was completely baffled. He looked from Huang Xiaojuan to Li Jiang and back again, scratching his head. ”What does that mean? Don’t tell me your male BFF has a thing for my assistant?”

As the words left his mouth, Zhao Rong couldn’t help but think, No way. Did this handsome guy really fall for the assistant? Impossible. Even if this man is gay, he couldn’t possibly be into someone like the assistant, whose looks are… an acquired taste. Right?

Before Zhao Rong could finish his thought, Li Jiang shyly lowered his head. He then looked up at Zhao Rong and said timidly, ”Brother Zhao Rong, the thing is… when the assistant first arrived at the sports college, I ran into him at the school gate. When he asked me for directions to the cafeteria, I felt this… inexplicable feeling in my heart.”

Zhao Rong’s eyes widened in astonishment. He swallowed hard and asked, ”What are you trying to say? That it was love at first sight with the assistant?”

He then thought to himself, Damn, does something this weird and hilarious actually happen in this world? Besides, the assistant seems to be having some incredible luck in love lately. He’s so popular, and not just with women, but with men too.

Hearing Zhao Rong’s question, Li Jiang became too shy to speak. Seeing her friend’s bashfulness, Huang Xiaojuan stepped forward to speak for him. ”You’re really sharp, Brother Zhao Rong. You figured it out before we could even tell you properly. You’re right. My male BFF, Li Jiang, really did fall for your assistant at first sight.”

Zhao Rong nodded, then shook his head. He looked over at the assistant, who was still practicing Taekwondo with frantic energy, and said to Huang Xiaojuan, ”No problem. If your male BFF likes the assistant and wants to confess his feelings, I can be the matchmaker for you two.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong was willing to help, Huang Xiaojuan jumped for joy and hugged her friend. ”Li Jiang, congratulations! You’ve finally found him… your Prince Charming!” Then, seeming very anxious to proceed, she said to Zhao Rong, ”In that case, let’s go over right now! We have to create an opportunity for my male BFF and your assistant to meet!”

Although he felt a bit helpless, Zhao Rong nodded. ”Since Li Jiang is so smitten, and you’re so eager, Xiaojuan, let’s go find the assistant now.”

With that, Zhao Rong led Huang Xiaojuan and Li Jiang toward the assistant.

The assistant was currently in the middle of practicing a variety of high-difficulty Taekwondo moves. As he executed the challenging techniques, his eyes kept darting around, hoping some beautiful girl would spot his incredibly awesome poses, secretly fall in love with him, develop a hidden crush, and quietly approach him. The thought alone made him giddy with delight. He snickered and thought to himself, Brother Zhao Rong is so dense. I told him to practice Taekwondo with me, but he refused. Doesn’t he know how much women love men who do Taekwondo? Doesn’t he realize that a man practicing Taekwondo is the sexiest thing in a woman’s eyes? Doesn’t he know that it can strengthen your vitality and improve your performance in bed?

He eagerly fantasized about a beauty approaching him to start a conversation, saying shyly, Um… your Taekwondo moves are so cool! Can we get to know each other and exchange WeChat info?

Just as the assistant was lost in his wild daydreams, Zhao Rong arrived with Huang Xiaojuan and Li Jiang. Zhao Rong stood beside him for a good while, but the assistant didn’t react at all. Seeing him spacing out, Zhao Rong figured he was just putting on airs, so he kicked him in the butt.

”Assistant! Your lucky day in love has arrived! Why aren’t you seizing the opportunity?”

Jolted from his fantasy by the sudden kick, the assistant snapped back to reality. He spun around and snapped, ”Who kicked me? You got a death wish? Or are you just jealous that my Taekwondo poses are too cool?”

Before he could finish, Zhao Rong kicked him in the butt again. ”Who are you cussing at, Assistant?”

The assistant turned and saw it was Zhao Rong. He immediately broke into an awkward smile. ”Big Brother, it’s you! I chose Taekwondo, Ms. Lili chose synchronized swimming, the lovely Yu Lan chose rhythmic gymnastics, and the beautiful Xuelian chose yoga. What did you pick?”

Zhao Rong shook his head. ”I just came from the discus throw area. I haven’t decided on an elective yet.”

Hearing this, the assistant immediately started his sales pitch. ”Brother Zhao Rong, you should really practice Taekwondo with me! You know, I once saw this TV interview where a woman said she didn’t want to be with any other man in the world… only with Taekwondo athletes in their doboks. You get what I mean, Brother Zhao Rong?” He finished with a sly, lecherous grin.

Listening to him, Zhao Rong pointed a finger at the assistant. ”Don’t tell me the only reason you chose to practice Taekwondo is so you can be with women?”

The question seemed to stump the assistant. He thought for a long moment before saying evasively, ”Well, not entirely… but, yeah, kind of.”

While they were talking, Huang Xiaojuan nudged Zhao Rong with her elbow. ”Brother Zhao Rong, we came to see the assistant about something important,” she reminded him.

That jolted Zhao Rong’s memory. He had brought Huang Xiaojuan and her male best friend, Li Jiang, over to set the two of them up. He quickly got back on track. ”Assistant, I came to tell you that you’ve had a serious stroke of luck in love recently.”

Hearing the magic words, the assistant’s eyes lit up, and he practically started drooling. ”What do you mean, Brother Zhao Rong? Did another beauty fall for me?”

Zhao Rong nodded. ”Of course someone’s fallen for you, otherwise I wouldn’t be here. It’s just that the person who’s taken a liking to you isn’t a beauty, but rather…”

Just as Zhao Rong was about to introduce Li Jiang, the assistant cut him off. ”Brother Zhao Rong, were you about to say that it’s not just *a* beauty, but an *absolutely stunning* one?”

He then threw his head back and howled triumphantly, thinking, It seems my choice to practice Taekwondo was absolutely the right one. Sure enough, a beauty has already fallen for me because of my dashing Taekwondo moves. Still, if you like me, you could have just come and talked to me yourself. Why drag Zhao Rong over to be a middleman? So unnecessary.

His heart pounding with anticipation, the assistant said, ”So, Brother Zhao Rong, where is this beauty? Hurry up and bring her over! I can’t wait any longer!”

Seeing how desperate the assistant was, Zhao Rong turned to Huang Xiaojuan. ”See, Huang Xiaojuan? The assistant is also eager to find a romantic love. Since that’s the case, why don’t you introduce your best friend to him?”

When the assistant heard that the beautiful Huang Xiaojuan was about to introduce her best friend to him, he was ecstatic. If Huang Xiaojuan is so beautiful, her best friend must be a knockout, too, right?

Fantasizing about a woman with a huge chest and a perky butt, he urged, ”Huang Xiaojuan, since your best friend likes me, hurry up and introduce us!”

He thought to himself, You know, my luck with the ladies has been incredible recently. A few days ago, that weightlifter girl from the weightlifting department developed a secret crush on me and asked me to meet her at a foot massage parlor. Now, Huang Xiaojuan’s best friend has a thing for me too. What’s a guy to do?

Seeing the assistant’s eager and restless state, Huang Xiaojuan pointed to Li Jiang beside her and said, ”Assistant, this is my best friend. He’s had a crush on you for a very long time. Can you accept him?”
