Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 347: Chapter 309 Finding a Helper

Zhao Rong held the assistant’s disc player and said with a smile, ”This thing definitely has the assistant’s DNA on it...”

Seeing the disc player in his hand, Xuelian was skeptical. ”I’d believe you if you said his phone has his DNA, but how could this thing?”

Zhao Rong smiled and explained to the three women, ”Every morning, the assistant gets up, grabs his phone, disc player, and earphones, along with a roll of toilet paper, and goes into the bathroom...”

Hearing this, Lili remarked as if it were the most ordinary thing, ”It’s perfectly normal to drink a glass of water, go to the restroom for a number two, and browse your phone while listening to music.”

”You might think he’s going for a number two,” Zhao Rong clarified, ”but he’s not. He’s actually going to... well, he usually uses his left hand for that, while his right hand holds the disc player. After he’s done, he unplugs the earphones, pockets them, and shoves the disc player into the crack beside his bed.”

Listening to Zhao Rong, Yu Lan immediately placed the disc player into the DNA positioning detector. However, to the three women’s surprise, the detector couldn’t find any of the assistant’s DNA on the device. Just as they stood there astonished, Zhao Rong chuckled and pressed a button on the player.

He ejected a disc and pointed to the image of Yui Hatano on it. ”The assistant’s DNA isn’t on the player or the earphones. It’s on this disc.”

With that, he placed the disc into the DNA positioning detector.

Lili watched the machine and said, ”Those villains may have snuck into your dorm and wiped away everything with the assistant’s DNA on it, but they never imagined there would still be a disc inside this player, perfectly preserving his DNA.”

Yu Lan added with relief, ”Thank goodness you knew about the disc in this player, Brother Zhao Rong. Otherwise, we really would have lost his DNA.” Then, her curiosity piqued, she looked from the disc to Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, how did you know there was a Yui Hatano disc in his player? Don’t tell me you sneak a look every day when he’s not around...”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong waved his hands dismissively. ”How is that possible? I’m not like the assistant, whose desires are completely out of control. I may think about that sort of thing sometimes, but I, Zhao Rong, can control myself.”

But before he could finish his sentence, the DNA positioning detector beeped. A synthesized voice announced the location of the DNA’s owner: ”DNA match found. Subject is located in the male dormitory, room 304.”

Hearing the announcement, the three women stared at Zhao Rong and asked in unison, ”Brother Zhao Rong, why did the detector find *your* DNA instead of the assistant’s?”

At this, Zhao Rong was thoroughly embarrassed. He took the disc out of the detector while explaining, ”Well, to be honest, I have secretly watched this disc before. I mean, the woman on the cover is Yui Hatano. I don’t think any man could resist her charms...”

After his confession, Zhao Rong flipped the disc over and inserted the other side into the detector. When the three women heard his words, they burst out laughing.

”Brother Zhao Rong, didn’t you just say you never watch the assistant’s discs?” Lili teased. ”How did you get exposed so quickly?”

”Men are shameless animals,” Zhao Rong said awkwardly.

Yu Lan piled on, ”And didn’t you say your self-control was excellent and that you could control your desires? Then why are you secretly watching these kinds of movies too?”

Wiping cold sweat from his forehead, Zhao Rong replied, ”Sigh, sometimes I try to control myself, I really do... but in the end, I just can’t.”

Xuelian smiled and pulled something from her pocket. ”Brother Zhao Rong, if I’d known you liked watching these movies, I would have just given you my whole collection.” She took out a stack of discs and placed them in front of him.

When Zhao Rong saw the wide variety of titles, he stared at Xuelian in stunned amazement. ”Xuelian, you’re a woman! You like watching these kinds of movies too?”

”Men and women are the same sometimes,” she said with a laugh. ”Men watch out of desire; women watch out of curiosity.” With that, she pushed the stack of discs into his hands.

Zhao Rong took them and put them in his bedside table. ”I’ll watch them when I have time. Right now, let’s hurry and save the assistant.”

Before he had even finished speaking, a QR code appeared on the DNA detector’s screen. Zhao Rong quickly pulled out his phone, opened the DNA positioning app, and scanned the code. A map immediately appeared on his screen, a red dot marking the assistant’s exact location.

However, when Zhao Rong saw the red dot was inside the sports academy, he gasped. ”Impossible! Was the assistant also taken to the sports academy?”

Lili’s eyes widened in disbelief as she saw the location. ”Isn’t that red dot our counselor Li Xiaogang’s dormitory?”

Yu Lan nodded, shocked. ”What’s going on? Could Li Xiaogang be the mastermind behind the kidnapping? Why else would the assistant be held in his dorm room?”

Xuelian grabbed a fruit knife from the table and said menacingly, ”I knew that Li Xiaogang was no good! Turns out he’s a kidnapper...”

With that, the four of them charged toward Li Xiaogang’s dormitory.

When they arrived, Zhao Rong pressed his ear to the door to listen. What he heard startled him. He sucked in a sharp breath and turned to the three women behind him. ”What’s going on? I hear a woman panting inside.”

Lili took out her Piercing-Eye Glasses. ”You don’t think the assistant is in there with a woman, do you?”

”Let’s not guess,” Yu Lan said, shaking her head. ”Let’s just go in.”

”Whatever’s happening, we’re busting in,” Xuelian declared, using her knife to pry at the lock.

With a final kick, Zhao Rong broke the door open and rushed inside. He was met with the sight of Li Xiaogang in bed with a woman. Startled, Li Xiaogang quickly pulled the comforter over both of them. ”Zhao Rong! What are you doing?”

Just then, Lili also rushed in and pointed an accusing finger at him. ”You kidnapper! Hand over the person you took!”

Li Xiaogang, still holding the woman, looked completely baffled. ”Hand over who? This is my new girlfriend.”

”Alright, let’s say she is your girlfriend,” Yu Lan questioned. ”If you’re in a relationship, why were you so nervous when we came in?”

”Well, my new girlfriend... she’s married,” Li Xiaogang explained. ”So when you all burst in, you scared me to death! I thought her husband had brought a gang to catch us in the act and beat me to a pulp.”

Meanwhile, Xuelian was searching the room for hiding places. ”Li Xiaogang, did you kidnap the assistant? Hand him over!”

”Kidnap the assistant?” Li Xiaogang said as he got dressed. ”I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Zhao Rong took out the DNA positioning detector again. Seeing that the red dot was still fixed on this dormitory, he frowned in frustration. ”Is something wrong with the detector? We’ve searched Li Xiaogang’s entire room and still haven’t found the assistant. So why does it say he’s still in here?”

Hearing this, Li Xiaogang pointed to the floor. ”This faculty dormitory building has a basement. Maybe the person you’re looking for is down there.”

At his words, Zhao Rong decided they would search the basement immediately.

As Zhao Rong led the three women out of the room, Li Xiaogang’s girlfriend poked her head out from under the covers, her face pale with fright. ”Oh my god, you scared me to death! I thought my husband had tracked me down and brought people to catch me. Thank goodness it wasn’t him... otherwise, we’d both be dead today.”

Li Xiaogang sighed with feeling. ”I guess dating an assassin’s wife is out of the question from now on. It could get you killed.”

Just as Zhao Rong’s group left the dormitory building to enter the basement, a man brandishing a machete led three or four others, also armed with machetes, into the building. He stopped and asked Zhao Rong’s party, ”Where is Li Xiaogang’s dorm?”

The menacing men behind him started cursing loudly. ”Of all the women to mess with, he had the nerve to go after our boss’s woman. He must have a death wish!”

With that, the group stormed into the building, heading straight for Li Xiaogang’s room.

Zhao Rong turned to the three women. ”So, do we save the assistant first, or Li Xiaogang?”
