Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Zhao Rong was surprised to see his assistant. ”Assistant? Didn’t you say you were going out to buy snacks? What are you doing in a foot spa?”

The assistant looked back at Zhao Rong, equally surprised. ”And you? Didn’t you say you were going out to take care of some ’serious business’? How did you suddenly show up here?”

After they spoke, the two stared at each other, utterly baffled.

Suddenly, an idea struck Zhao Rong. He looked at his assistant and said with a smile, ”I was looking everywhere for a squat toilet and finally found one in this foot spa, so I came in.”

The assistant also had a flash of inspiration. He looked at Zhao Rong and said with a grin, ”I wanted to buy a specific tasty snack, but I couldn’t find it anywhere nearby. It wasn’t until I came to this foot spa that I finally found it.”

As he spoke, the assistant picked up some sunflower seeds from the table and began cracking them energetically.

With that, Zhao Rong and his assistant exchanged a knowing smile. They minded their own business and proceeded with their separate dates.

The three beauties in the dormitory were bored and decided to ask Zhao Rong to hang out.

Lili lay on her bed playing with her phone, complaining idly, ”I’ve already beaten every level in Jump Jump. Are there any other games that can even challenge me? Why don’t we go find Brother Zhao Rong and have some fun?”

Yu Lan was holding her phone with an e-reader app open. ”I’m all caught up on the novel I’m reading, but the author still hasn’t updated. How boring... Fine, let’s go find Brother Zhao Rong.”

Xuelian, who had just showered, put on perfume, and changed into new clothes, bounded out of the bathroom and chirped, ”The happiest thing in life is hanging out with Brother Zhao Rong!”

With that, the three of them got up and went to find Zhao Rong in his dorm.

However, when they stood at his door and knocked for a long time with no answer, the three of them grew anxious.

Lili said nervously, ”It must be that vixen Huang Xiaojuan. She must have lured Brother Zhao Rong out.”

Yu Lan voiced an even more frightening thought. ”What if that vixen drugged Brother Zhao Rong’s drink, knocked him out, and took him to a hotel?”

Xuelian was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. She fidgeted and said, ”Brother Zhao Rong is so naive, and he’s still a virgin! If that Huang Xiaojuan takes advantage of him and he loses his virginity, what about us? We’ll have lost our chance to be his first!”

And so, the three beauties joined forces and broke down the door to Zhao Rong’s dorm.

When they saw the empty room, they immediately concluded that Zhao Rong must be out on a date. Lili instantly took out her phone and dialed the assistant’s number. ”That assistant kid shares a dorm with Zhao Rong. I gave him some spicy strips today, so he’ll definitely tell me where Zhao Rong is.”

Meanwhile, Yu Lan was dialing Zhao Rong’s number. ”Brother Zhao Rong had better have a good explanation for where he is right now.”

Back at the foot spa, Zhao Rong and his assistant were happily enjoying their respective dates when both of their phones rang at the same time.

Zhao Rong pulled his phone from his pocket, smiled at Huang Xiaojuan, and said, ”I have to take this call. Hang on a second.”

When he saw it was Lili calling, he shot to his feet in shock. As Zhao Rong stood up, so did the assistant.

The assistant looked at Zhao Rong and said, ”Brother, it’s Yu Lan on the phone. She must be looking for you.”

Zhao Rong pointed at his own phone. ”It’s not just Yu Lan. Lili is definitely looking for me, too. Look, she’s calling me right now!”

He then turned to Huang Xiaojuan and said, ”Sorry, my stomach hurts a bit. I need to use the restroom. Please wait a moment.” With that, he rushed into the nearby restroom.

When Zhao Rong answered the call, Lili immediately questioned him. ”Brother Zhao Rong, where are you? We’re in your dorm, why aren’t you here?”

Zhao Rong frantically scrambled for an excuse. ”Sorry, Lili. I have an upset stomach and had to go out to use the restroom.”

Lili looked around the dorm’s bathroom and asked, ”There’s a restroom right here in your dorm. Why did you have to go out to use one?”

Zhao Rong laughed awkwardly. ”I’ve been kind of constipated lately, and sitting on the toilet just wasn’t working. So I went out to find a squat toilet and finally managed to... clear out a few weeks’ worth of buildup.” After saying this, he just laughed awkwardly into the phone.

Just then, Yu Lan’s call to the assistant connected.

She pressed him immediately, ”Assistant, are you with Brother Zhao Rong? Tell me where you guys are right now!”

The assistant glanced at Zhao Rong disappearing into the restroom and lied, ”Yu Lan, I’m not with Brother Zhao Rong. I just came out to buy some snacks. I’ll be back in a bit.”

Hearing this, Yu Lan said disbelievingly, ”You’re lying, Assistant. You’re definitely with Brother Zhao Rong. I’m starting a video call with you right now, and you’d better answer it.”

A moment later, a video call request from Yu Lan popped up on his screen.

The assistant looked at the notification and thought, It’s just a video call, so what? I’ll answer it. Who’s afraid of who?

So, the assistant answered the beautiful Yu Lan’s video call.

By the time he answered, Zhao Rong, still in the restroom, had managed to placate Lili with his silver tongue. Once Lili believed that he had simply gone out to find a different kind of toilet, Zhao Rong breathed a long sigh of relief and slowly walked out.

He headed toward his assistant, who was still on the video call with Yu Lan.

Holding the phone up to show his surroundings in the foot spa, the assistant said, ”See where I am, Yu Lan? I’m not with Brother Zhao Rong, am I?”

As Yu Lan was on the call, Lili came over to look. Seeing the assistant and his background, she said, ”The assistant is right. He really isn’t with Brother Zhao Rong.”

Yu Lan kept the video call going and asked Lili, ”Then where did Brother Zhao Rong go?”

Remembering what Zhao Rong had told her, Lili explained, ”He’s in a public restroom near the school. He’s been constipated, so he found a squat toilet to use.”

Hearing that Brother Zhao Rong wasn’t on a date with some other girl from school, Yu Lan relaxed. She said to Lili, ”I knew it. Brother Zhao Rong would never go on a date with another girl from school. It looks like we were just overthinking things.”

Lili nodded in agreement. ”It seems we wronged Brother Zhao Rong. We can’t be so suspicious and distrustful of him anymore.”

Just as the two were reaffirming their faith in him, Xuelian, who had been watching the screen, suddenly pointed. ”Hey, you two, look. In the assistant’s video… that person walking out of the foot spa’s restroom and heading toward the assistant… doesn’t he look a lot like Brother Zhao Rong?”

Instinctively, Lili and Yu Lan’s eyes went wide, their gazes locking onto the familiar figure in the video with the intensity of the Eyes of Golden Flame.

On the assistant’s end, just as he had successfully sold his white lie to Lili and Yu Lan, Zhao Rong appeared behind him. He let out a long sigh and said, ”Assistant, that was a close call! I almost let the three of them find out we were at a foot spa on dates with different girls. Thankfully, my superior intelligence and remarkable verbal skills saved the day. With my golden tongue, I made Lili believe I wasn’t at a foot spa at all, but just using a public restroom near the school.”

As Zhao Rong let out a confident, booming laugh, the terrified assistant quickly tried to warn him. ”Boss, you better watch what you say! I’m on a video call with Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian right now!”

When Zhao Rong heard this, he was horrified. ”You’ve got to be kidding me! Don’t tell me your video captured me, too?”

The assistant wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said frantically, ”Brother Zhao Rong, not only are you in the shot, but I’m pretty sure the three of them have already seen you.”

Suddenly, Zhao Rong’s eyes widened as he stared at the three faces on the phone screen. No way! The lie I worked so hard to craft was exposed this easily? And I was caught on camera?

At the same time, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian had indeed spotted Zhao Rong.

Lili immediately pulled her glasses out of her pocket, put them on, and peered at the familiar person in the video. ”Holy crap, isn’t that Brother Zhao Rong?”

Yu Lan went a step further, taking a magnifying glass from her pocket and holding it up to her phone screen. ”That person… I think it really is Brother Zhao Rong! Lili, didn’t you say he went to a public restroom? Then why is he showing up in the assistant’s video call?”

Xuelian went even further, pulling out a high-powered microscope as if she could dissect the person on the screen. She said, ”If the person in the assistant’s video really is Brother Zhao Rong, then he’d better have a good explanation for us.”

”That’s right!” Lili said angrily. ”He must give us an explanation!”

Yu Lan gritted her teeth. ”As a great hero, Brother Zhao Rong is usually so righteous and upstanding. I never thought he would lie to the three of us!”

Lili slammed her hand on the table, then rushed into the dorm room and came back out brandishing a kitchen knife. Staring at the screen, she yelled, ”Brother Zhao Rong not only deceived us, but he’s also in cahoots with the assistant, thick as thieves!”

Just as the three of them became certain that the person in the video was Zhao Rong, he, back in the foot spa, immediately used his Special Abilities to perform an Instant Teleportation.

As the three women—armed with a kitchen knife, a magnifying glass, and a mop—were about to storm out of their dorm and head for the foot spa, Zhao Rong suddenly pushed open their door and walked in.

Seeing the very man who had just been in the assistant’s video magically appear before them, the three beauties were utterly and completely astonished.
