Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

At this moment, the old man walking ahead was chuckling to himself. Young man, do you think just because you’re the messenger of the Wild Wolf Sect’s Gang Leader, you can actually retrieve the genuine Tianshan Snow Lotus and its seeds? What a joke. You think too little of me, Zhang Bin.

After a while, when Zhang Bin entered a small alley, Zhao Rong immediately followed. Zhao Rong changed his direction and walked straight toward Zhang Bin. As they brushed past each other, Zhao Rong deliberately bumped into him.

Stumbling from the collision, Zhang Bin instantly cursed at the disguised Zhao Rong, ”Damn old man, can’t you watch where you’re walking?”

Zhao Rong then fell straight to the ground, pretending to be seriously injured. ”Young man, you’ve knocked down an old man like me,” he said. ”If you don’t give me your Tianshan Snow Lotus to take, I’m pinning this whole thing on you…”

Because Zhao Rong was currently in disguise—made up to look like an old man instead of a young one—Zhang Bin didn’t recognize him. He just thought he had bumped into some elderly man.

When Zhang Bin heard the old man actually wanted his Tianshan Snow Lotus, he asked in surprise, ”Old man, how do you know I have a Tianshan Snow Lotus on me?”

Zhao Rong chuckled. ”Didn’t you just brag to the owner of that makeup store that after taking the Tianshan Snow Lotus, you’d not only live longer but also retain your youth forever?”

Upon hearing Zhao Rong’s words, Zhang Bin realized what was happening. He glanced left and right and saw that there was no one else in the alley. So, Zhang Bin said viciously to Zhao Rong, ”Old man, I think you’re looking to die…” With that, he drew a curved knife from his waist.

When Zhao Rong saw that Zhang Bin not only refused to compensate the old man he had bumped but was actually planning to kill him to evade responsibility, he immediately cursed, ”What the hell! So you disciples of the Wild Wolf Sect truly are the scum of society! Hitting an old man and then, instead of compensating him, you want to kill him? Since you’re so vile, I won’t be polite today…”

Having said that, Zhao Rong performed a kip-up, leaping to his feet from the ground.

When Zhang Bin saw the old man he had knocked down, who had appeared to be on his last breath, now full of energy and hopping around, he couldn’t help but exclaim, ”Damn it, are you an old man or a young man?”

Zhao Rong kicked the curved knife from Zhang Bin’s hand and warned him, ”Zhang Bin, hand over the Tianshan Snow Lotus you have right now, or else you’ll learn your lesson the hard way.”

After Zhao Rong kicked the curved knife away, Zhang Bin instantly drew two sharp daggers from his trouser leg. He said arrogantly, ”Old man, I don’t care if you’re young or old. There’s no one else in this alley, and today, I’m going to kill you.”

Hearing that Zhang Bin actually wanted to kill him, Zhao Rong said, ”Zhang Bin, it seems that when it comes to disciples of the Wild Wolf Sect, I should kill every one of you on sight. People like you are rotten to the core. If I don’t get rid of you, you’ll definitely continue to harm society and slaughter the innocent.”

After saying this, Zhao Rong delivered a flying kick directly to Zhang Bin’s face.

Knocked to the ground, Zhang Bin wiped the blood from his nose and stabbed at Zhao Rong’s chest with a dagger, snarling, ”Old man, I’m going to finish you off today!”

Zhao Rong sidestepped to avoid the sharp dagger, then spun around and delivered a side kick that knocked out two of Zhang Bin’s front teeth. ”Idiot,” he said. ”In a deserted place like this, who’s to say whether you’ll be killing me or I’ll be killing you?”

Zhang Bin got up from the ground, searching for his teeth on the pavement. ”Who on earth are you? How are you so formidable? Could you be a cultivator?” As he spoke, Zhang Bin revealed his true form.

When Zhao Rong saw that Zhang Bin was actually a half-beast, he was stunned. At the same time, he felt a surge of luck. I just happened to run out of Demon Crystals for my elixir concoction. This half-beast showing up at my door is perfect. I can slay him and take his Demon Crystal.

The half-beast Zhang Bin fiercely pounced toward Zhao Rong, saying, ”Old man, you didn’t expect this, did you? I, Zhang Bin, am actually a half-beast!”

Zhao Rong laughed. ”A half-beast? That’s great. I just happen to need a Demon Crystal for my elixirs. After I kill you, I’ll dissect you right away and take the Demon Crystal from your body to aid my work.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong wanted to take his Demon Crystal, the half-beast Zhang Bin clutched the spot on his body where it was located and said viciously, ”Thinking of taking my Demon Crystal? Not so easy. I’ll take your heart first. Then we can talk.”

As he spoke, the half-beast Zhang Bin viciously leaped at Zhao Rong, extending his extremely sharp claws.

Seeing the knife-sharp claws, Zhao Rong immediately took out the Dharma Sword from his Magic Ring. At that moment, the half-beast Zhang Bin didn’t notice the sword in Zhao Rong’s hand. As he lunged with both paws, trying to kill Zhao Rong with his sharp fangs and claws, he yelled, ”Zhao Rong, I’m going to make you die a death more hideous than a pig’s!”

But before the half-beast Zhang Bin could finish speaking, Zhao Rong swung the Dharma Sword and chopped off both of his claws.

With both claws severed, Zhang Bin fell to the ground, rolling in pain and howling, ”Damn it! I clearly saw you were empty-handed when you faced my fangs and claws! Where the hell did you get that sword? And it’s not just any sword, it’s a really badass one!”

Looking at Zhang Bin struggling on the ground, Zhao Rong raised the Dharma Sword high, then leaped up. ”Since you’re in so much pain, I’ll send you to the ultimate bliss of the Western Heaven.” With that, Zhao Rong struck down with his sword, killing the half-beast before him.

After killing the half-beast Zhang Bin, Zhao Rong immediately retrieved a square box containing the Tianshan Snow Lotus and a bag of genuine Tianshan Snow Lotus seeds from inside his robes. Having secured the two treasures, Zhao Rong promptly dissected the half-beast. After the dissection, he easily acquired the Demon Crystal.

Having dealt with the half-beast Zhang Bin, Zhao Rong turned to leave the alley. However, just as he reached the entrance, he saw the owner of the makeup store peeking from the corner.

Zhao Rong thought to himself, Damn it. How unlucky for him to have seen the whole thing.

But just as Zhao Rong was lamenting his misfortune, the makeup store owner suddenly stepped forward to thank him. ”Young hero, you’ve finally dealt with the half-beast that has been hiding in our bazaar for twenty years!”

Just as the owner finished speaking, a young man selling Qiegao also approached to thank Zhao Rong. ”Young hero, you have truly rid our bazaar of a scourge! You have no idea, this guy would eat my Qiegao without ever paying.”

As soon as the Qiegao seller finished, an uncle selling Naan also came forward. ”This half-beast has been wreaking havoc in our bazaar for many years, yet no one could take him down,” he said, thanking Zhao Rong. ”Young hero, it wasn’t until your arrival that this half-beast’s miserable life was finally ended.”

Listening to the praise from the people around him, a puzzled Zhao Rong asked, ”Did you all know beforehand that this Zhang Bin wasn’t human, but a half-beast?”

The crowd nodded in unison. ”What use was it for us to know he was a half-beast? Our mana isn’t strong enough to subdue him.”

It was then that Zhao Rong realized his unwitting act had rid the bazaar of a great menace. He smiled and said to everyone, ”No need to thank me. If you encounter any monsters or demons in the future, just give me a call. I’ll take care of all of them and ensure our bazaar remains a great place.”

With that, Zhao Rong performed an Instant Teleportation and vanished. When the people around saw that Zhao Rong, who had just been there laughing and talking, had suddenly disappeared without a trace, they knelt down one after another, feeling as if they had encountered an immortal.

When Zhao Rong instantly teleported next to Xue Lianmei, the messenger from the Wild Wolf Sect was already long gone.

Xue Lianmei, however, looked at Zhao Rong and complained, ”Brother Zhao Rong, your Instant Teleportation is usually incredibly fast. Why were you so slow today?”

When Zhao Rong told her what had happened, Xue Lianmei’s jaw nearly dropped in shock. She couldn’t believe it. ”Unbelievable,” she said. ”It’s a classic case of the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. But luckily, Brother Zhao Rong, you teleported there in time. Otherwise, if we had brought that fake Tianshan Snow Lotus back to the sports college dormitory, we never would have been able to make the Five Flowers Scatter Pill to save Miss Lili.”

Zhao Rong nodded and, while taking out the genuine Tianshan Snow Lotus, said, ”Now that we’ve dealt with that half-beast Zhang Bin, we still need to deal with the messenger. Only then can we land a devastating blow on the vile Wild Wolf Sect.”

Xue Lianmei looked around despairingly. ”We missed our chance when the messenger was here. Now that he’s disappeared into this vast sea of people and the Gobi Desert, where are we supposed to find him?”

Just as Zhao Rong and Xue Lianmei were fretting over how to find the messenger, a familiar figure in the distance slowly walked back toward them. ”What’s going on?” the man muttered to himself. ”I followed the directions that guy gave me and walked in a circle. How did I end up back here again?”

When Zhao Rong and Xue Lianmei saw that the messenger who had disappeared had unwittingly returned, they high-fived in joy and cheered. ”Well, what do you know! Things really do work out when you least expect them to. Since this messenger has come back on his own, let’s play along and catch him completely off guard.”
