Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

50: Following her was the right thing to do!The woman’s heart leaped into her throat. ”Isn’t she being too...?”

”Honey, she’s a good person. She’s our savior,” Bai Zichuan interrupted his wife.

”Alright, I trust your choice. I’ll help you prepare.” The woman set down the Child and went inside to get things.

After Si Nan returned, she went upstairs to observe the activity on the main road. Aside from the heavy white snow swirling wildly, everything was calm. She then took out a helmet and other gear from her space and began to arm herself, ensuring not a single inch of skin was exposed. Looking at herself in the mirror, she resembled an astronaut ready for space; she was prepared.

As it approached 10:00 PM, Bai Zichuan sent a message: ”I’m at your door.”

”Coming down now.” Si Nan went downstairs. After the two met at the courtyard gate, they quickly headed toward the community gate closest to the main road.

Bai Zichuan couldn’t hold it in anymore. ”Shouldn’t we also go to the nearest supermarket to find food? It’s a bit late, but we can still make it. The ones further away will definitely still have some.”

”I checked the map nearby before coming; there are ten large and small supermarkets—”

”We’re not going to a supermarket. Just follow me. Take this.”

Si Nan interrupted Bai Zichuan’s rambling. Looking at the Kitchen knife in his hand, she directly handed him a military shovel. ”Use this. A Kitchen knife is hard to pull out once it’s hacked into a zombie’s flesh. A military shovel is the best weapon. A zombie’s weakness is the head.”

Bai Zichuan was shocked by Si Nan’s knowledge of zombies. She even knew their weaknesses and the pros and cons of different attacks perfectly. However, being smart, he didn’t ask anything. ”Alright, I’ll remember that.”

”One more thing.” Si Nan suddenly stopped and looked at him. ”Since we’re collaborating, I must make a few things clear: First, don’t ask what shouldn’t be asked. Second, don’t ask even if you see something illogical; I’ll tell you what you need to know.”

Third, if you want to live long, you must be cold-hearted and ruthless. From the day the virus broke out, humanity entered the Apocalypse. You’ve seen it these past few days—humanity is disappearing.

Fourth, learn to kill, including uninfected normal people and zombies. The more you kill, the longer you live. And one more thing—

She suddenly paused, looking at the white snow before her. This sentence was a reminder to Bai Zichuan, but also to herself. ”Don’t be overly kind, or your whole family will be at the mercy of others.”

”Thank you, I’ll remember that.” Bai Zichuan nodded firmly, feeling very grateful. Si Nan was teaching him the way to survive in the Apocalypse.

But wasn’t this her first time experiencing such a disaster too? How did she know so much? Moreover, she was just a beautiful girl in her early twenties, yet the aura she exuded was more powerful and experienced than his own as a man nearing thirty.

Following her was the right choice!

”Let’s go. Once we’re out of the community gate, stay close to me. Don’t make any sound other than walking,” Si Nan reminded him again.

”Okay.” Bai Zichuan nodded and quickly pulled out a mask to cover his mouth.

Soon, the two arrived at Gate 3 of the community. Si Nan was wearing an anti-blue light helmet, so the security guard on duty didn’t recognize her and opened the gate directly.

The security guard had lost track of how many groups had gone out tonight.

”You might not come back once you go out,” the guard warned in a low voice as Si Nan stepped through the gate.

Si Nan ignored him.

Bai Zichuan, however, replied, ”Thanks for the warning, but without food, we’ll die anyway.”

However, looking at the zombies standing crookedly and motionless outside the gate, Bai Zichuan still felt terrified, and his legs felt a bit weak.

Si Nan observed for a few seconds before walking straight out the gate. Bai Zichuan hurried to follow.

The white snow outside was very deep, but after several groups of people had stepped through it earlier, it was much easier to walk. Si Nan avoided the zombies one by one and walked quickly toward the main road. They had only walked about 200 meters when they saw a moving zombie ahead. It seemed to have evolved a bit of intelligence, as it was tilting its head and looking at its own kind.

Si Nan raised her hand to signal Bai Zichuan to stop and retreat.

Bai Zichuan immediately turned and walked back.

Si Nan glanced at the zombie. It was still looking at its own kind. She quickly changed direction, deviating from it and circling around from the side. Fortunately, most of the streetlights on the road were still on, with only a few broken ones creating pitch-black blind spots.

She focused only on walking ahead, not looking back at Bai Zichuan. If he couldn’t keep up, it meant he was destined not to survive in this Apocalypse. The reason she brought this burden, Bai Zichuan, was to train him so he could temporarily work for her.

Although she couldn’t fully trust him, based on the incident where he killed Lü Tao and Li Sanshui, Bai Zichuan was a smart and decisive person. She liked collaborating with people like that. Most importantly, even if he died, it would be due to his own lack of ability, and she wouldn’t be responsible.

Behind her, Bai Zichuan admired Si Nan more and more. In such a difficult environment with deep white snow, Si Nan’s speed was almost unaffected, as if she were walking on flat ground—it was incredibly fast.

He really doubted it—was she truly a woman?

”Hmm?” Si Nan suddenly stopped again. Bai Zichuan almost crashed into her back and quickly braked, stepping back.

Si Nan signaled Bai Zichuan to look ahead.

Bai Zichuan gasped. Six zombies were tearing into a person ahead. Looking at the scattered red plum-like bloodstains on the messy white snow, a battle between humans and zombies had clearly occurred not long ago.

Si Nan quickly retreated. They were still over 100 meters away from those six zombies. The two of them rapidly backed away and took a detour. Fortunately, those six zombies were focused on tearing into the person, and since the pair wore damp coats that masked the scent of living humans, they successfully bypassed them.

They proceeded with extreme caution all the way, facing constant thrills.

Finally, ten minutes later, they were only two hundred meters away from the Oil Tanker and the express delivery containers. However, someone had arrived first. The rear door of a container had been opened. But before they could unpack the parcels inside, they had alerted the surrounding zombies and were now running and fighting.

Approaching now would mean certain death; there were too many zombies around.

Bai Zichuan’s heart tightened. He felt both joy and sorrow. He was joyful because he saw the long express delivery containers; they were heading into the city, so there must be a lot of food inside.

He was sorrowful because there were so many zombies around. Even if they were martial arts masters, they couldn’t kill them all; they would die of exhaustion.

”What do we do?” he asked Si Nan with a gesture.

”Wait!” Si Nan glanced at the scattered zombies around and stopped in a relatively hidden and safe spot closest to the Oil Tanker. Her eyes were fixed on the tanker; it was now less than a hundred meters away.

The screams of those fools had also alerted the zombies near the Oil Tanker, and they were now stumbling toward the direction of the screams.

Just wait a bit longer. Once this batch of zombies left, they could make their move.

Having witnessed a living person being torn apart and devoured, Bai Zichuan felt nauseous and wanted to vomit. He desperately covered his mouth to keep from making a sound.

Si Nan narrowed her eyes at him, her look saying: even if you can’t hold it in, you must, or I’ll throw you out if you alert the zombies.
